About: I’ve been taking care of dogs for 8 years I have my own dog who just turned 2. The very first dog I ever adopted was kind of “scary” looking and played aggressively she was very sassy and didn’t enjoy the company of other dogs or people (she sadly passed away 2 years ago). While my current puppers is hyper active but has extreme anxiety and loves being around people and other pets. I also often petsit my best friends doggo who is a senior and disabled, he can’t use his back two legs and has a lot of medical issues. I know and understand how to work with dogs of all personalities :) I’m working on getting my GED right now so I have a lot of free time lately. I can work on my classes any time during the day so my schedule is pretty open. I can kennel your dog if needed, take them on walks, feed them, play with them, even cuddle with them!! Our fur babies get lonely too!
About: I love dogs and I love spending time outdoors with them. I have two dogs of my own that are my whole entire world! I have dog sat for friends and family plenty of times, and I also have a part-time job at a daycare/boarding place. I would love to meet your pets and be able to take care of them when you are out of town. Thank you in advance for the opportunity! I work during the week 8am-5pm with an hour lunch break that I come home for to take my dogs outside. I also have a part-time job at a dog boarding/daycare on the weekends, those shifts are 6:45-10am and 2:15-5pm. I have a 6 ft privacy fence and two male dogs that love to play outside or love a good nap! In a client's home I follow instructions carefully and treat things and animals as if they are my own.
“Ophelia had a great weekend with Macy stopping in! I love the Rover cards with a little note and pictures. It definitely makes being gone for a weekend much easier!”

“Sarah went above and beyond caring for our cat and home during a weekend getaway. Brought large packages inside even though we didn’t ask her too. Sent photos of our cat so we could see how he was doing. Would hire again.”

About: I’ve taken care of cats and dogs for 10 years. This has included crate training both animals, some potty training for both animals, and teaching commands to dogs. This has also led to caring for my older dog through seizures, food aggression, nervousness, and eye problems. I’m currently a senior in high school and working a part-time job, leaving me plenty of time to care for your pets! On the weekdays that I’m not helping my school’s track team, I’m available after 5:30pm. Depending on the school day, I’m available 11am-2:30pm. Weekends are completely open! I have a big yard to share, if needed! I also have a very friendly male miniature poodle if your dog loves to have a playmate. If needed, I can easily crate, leash, or harness your pet.
“Alex made me feel comfortable leaving our dogs from the start. Her updates and pictures after every visit were wonderful & appreciated! Will definitely book with her again!”

About: I’ve gained hands-on experience caring for my family’s dog, including walks, feeding, playtime, and providing companionship. I love helping dogs feel happy, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. I currently have a flexible schedule while I await my bar exam results, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to pet care. I’m able to provide walks, playtime, check-ins, and companionship throughout the week. I provide care in the pet’s home where they are most comfortable. I will follow their normal routines, including feeding, fresh water, litter box care, walks, playtime, and giving them attention and companionship while their owners are away.
“Summer was responsive, had great communication with us beginning with meeting our dog and through our return, and is very knowledgeable. Independent of Rover’s background check, we never had second thoughts about trusting her (someone we had previously only met for about 10minutes) in our home or to take care of our dog. Very respectful. Would definitely ask her again.”

“I’d highly recommend Stacy to take care of your dog! She took such amazing care of Wrigley while I was away. I could tell she genuinely loves animals. Wrigley was happy and well-exercised with a couple walks every day even in the cold weather and snow. She kept me updated with tons of pictures and messages, and was flexible and quick to respond. The house was the same way I left it when I returned. Thank you, I’ll definitely be booking again!”
“Alexis was great with my two cats! She was attentive and took such good care of their needs. My cats are very comfortable around her. Alexis also kept me well upated. Having her for my pet care made my travels easier.”

“Tia does awesome checking on our kitty. He gets really lonely and sad when we leave him. But you can tell he loves the attention he gets from Tia and her children. We come home to a happy and snuggly little boy.”

“Brianna was awesome! Our girls got sick right before a big trip and she was able to meet with us very soon so that we could be scheduled! She responded fast to any messages and sent many pictures of my dogs! She really helped put my mind at ease as this was our first time using rover and it was a long trip! I would highly recommend booking with her! Our dogs had to take medicine twice a day and our German Shepard was in heat, she took care of everything!”

“I’m so glad to have found Daisy. My dog Charlotte looks forward to her visits and it has taken a huge amount of stress off me. It’s my first time using rover and I can’t recommend it enough”

First time using Macy's services and she was amazing. Always providing good updates and taking extra time with our dog if she felt it was needed. She also left me a Happy Mother's Day chocolate treat from "our dog" - so cute and thoughtful. We will absolutely call on Macy again!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
