Saskia was absolutely fantastic! She took such wonderful care of our two energetic dogs and our energetic cat, and we couldn't have been happier. She truly went above and beyond, staying in constant communication with us the whole time we were away and sending photos and updates that really put our minds at ease. She put an incredible amount of heart into caring for our pets—she easily gave one hundred and fifty to two hundred percent—and her response time was incredibly fast.

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. My first job was as an Animal Care Technician with the Humane Society, and I later worked at a military veterinary clinic for more than five years. Caring for animals isn’t just a job for me, it’s something I’ve been passionate about since childhood. I’ve always had pets of my own and have rescued many animals over the years. To me, pets are family, not just animals. When your pet stays with me, my home becomes their home. I’ll follow and reinforce your training and household rules, while also making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Whether your pet enjoys playtime, walks, cuddles, or simply relaxing, I tailor their care to their individual personality and energy level. I currently work full-time. But not too far from my job. So I can always come home to let pets out if need be. I will be available to give them all the attention in the afternoon and on the weekends with the help of my kids who just adore any animal. I have a fenced in yard with one dog and one cat to keep your pet company. I can also crate your pet if needed.

Margie is the best! Booker is a bit skittish and spoiled and I was worried that he would give her a hard time. She obviously knew exactly how to handle him because he was so calm when I picked him up.

It is always so comforting to know that Bailey is in good hands when we go visit our family. She keeps us informed and sends pictures. This is the fourth time we have used Brigid and Bailey seems to feel just as comfortable there as he does at home. Thank you Bridgit!

So glad we found Brooke!!! We had deferred family vacations out of driving distance for the past two years because we no longer had family nearby who could watch our pups. That has all changed now. Rover.com was recommended by a friend and truthfully I was a bit hesitant until I met Brooke. She responded so quickly to my messages when I was exploring sitters and as soon as the pups met her I knew this would be a great match. She treated our girls like family, letting them nap on the furniture (just like at home), taking them for walks and playing fetch. She sent us pictures each day of the dogs and it made us feel so much more at ease seeing they were being loved on. I can not say enough kind things about Brooke and her family and I highly recommend her. She went exceedingly above what was necessary and we will certainly be calling on her again!

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - North Chatham

Mikayla was wonderful with my 2 dogs! She watched them for a few days while we were out of town. It was our first time using someone other than family to watch our dogs. She communicated with me daily, providing updates, photos and videos. She had no problem feeding them their raw food diet and was careful with my 7 yr old frenchie who has a few food allergies. She even made sure my 11 month old cane corso had a chance to run around the yard and get out all her puppy energy.

Mikayla was super accommodating to our hectic schedule and helped work around some funny times that we had. She sent picture updates of my dog and her response time was fast whenever I had questions or was just checking in. We did a meet and greet before boarding to make sure she was a perfect fit for my crazy goofy dog and it was a sure hit! I felt safe and comfortable leaving my dog with Mikayla and I will definitely be using her services again for future boarding. 10/10 recommend!

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their North Chatham home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
