“Michaels the best! He’s helped us multiple times with overnight stays & quick drop ins. Our very selective dog & our shy cat both love him. He went above & beyond when we were away during a big snow storm & couldn’t get home to our pets. He cleared a pathway for our dog to go outside, cleared snow away from vents attached to our home & still managed to keep our pets active & exercised in the frigid temps. Everyone needs a Michael for their pets!”

About: I was raised around animals, including horses and a beagle kennel. Then, I had a sweet chihuahua for 13 years that I raised and trained from a puppy. I really do love all animals, and timid cats usually take a liking to me. I’m currently working part time, so pet care fits in to my daily schedule very well. I’m flexible with availability and commute, and read care instructions carefully. I have a two story house with a unfenced backyard that I can watch small to medium sized pets. When going to client’s home, I follow care instructions very closely and provide lots of love and attention for the fur babies.

I have free time during the week to stay with your pets for a few hours and over the weekends I have can stay overnight to look after them. About: Professional dog trainer, not just a sitter – I understand canine behavior, body language, and how to manage dogs safely and confidently. Behavior-aware care – I proactively manage jumping, pulling, barking, and over-arousal instead of ignoring it. As a professional dog trainer, my schedule already revolves around dogs. Pet care is a priority in my day, allowing me to provide structured routines, supervised activity, and mental enrichment. Dogs in my care are integrated into my daily routine and receive consistent attention, not just drop-in care. I I provide structured, attentive care tailored to each dog’s needs, whether they are staying in my home or I am caring for them in their own. In my home, dogs follow a consistent routine that includes scheduled feedings, frequent potty breaks, walks, enrichment, play, and calm rest time. I keep a limited number of dogs to ensure safety and individual attention, and I carefully manage introductions and interactions. In a client’s home, I follow their established routines as closely as possible to reduce stress, including feeding schedules, walks, medications if needed, and any house rules. I focus on calm handling, safety, and clear communication, and I always leave the home clean and respected. As a professional dog trainer, I naturally reinforce good manners and basic obedience during care while prioritizing your dog’s comfort, safety, and well-being. I also provide regular photo and video updates so owners feel confident and connected

About: Although I do not currently have pets of my own, I have always loved animals and have been the go-to pet sitter for friends and colleagues since moving back to Pittsburgh in 2019. I have cared for dogs and cats of all sizes, ages, and personalities, from quick check-ins to longer stays. Because I work remotely, my schedule is flexible and I can provide consistent care, attention, and updates while you are away. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet and your home, so I try to be dependable, communicative, and attentive to each pet’s routine. Since I do not have pets of my own, I genuinely enjoy getting to care for other people’s pets like they are part of my extended family. I work remotely, so my schedule is flexible and I can provide pet care during the day, in the evenings, and on weekends depending on the booking. Because I can work from different locations, I’m able to spend quality time with pets during house sitting stays and provide consistent check-ins, feeding, walks, playtime, and updates. I’m happy to follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible. I care for pets in their own home, where they can stay comfortable with their usual routine, space, food, toys, and schedule. I always follow owner instructions closely, including feeding, medication, walks, litter care, crate routines, and any house rules. I’m respectful of both your pet and your home, and I prioritize communication, safety, and calm, attentive care. I’ll also send updates so you know your pet is doing well while you’re away.

About: Since I was a child, people would bring strays or unbalanced animals to our house who would suddenly be calm and comfortable in my care. I spent a lot of time in nature and wild animals would often follow me home. I now have my Masters of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis and wrote an original thesis on clicker training for service dogs. I am on the Board and a trainer for Hero Puppies for Life where we train service dogs for heroes with PTSD. We use positive reinforcement and are focused around relational bond training. This sets the dogs up for success to support their humans. We also teach their humans how to understand their dog's instincts and communication. I am quite passionate about it. :) Leo is my 7 year old black lab and personal service dog so your fur family will have free socialization and canine therapy in addition to my human care. He has worked with me extensively as a focal point in my approach to providing applied behavior analysis therapy to children and dogs. I trust our working relationship more than anyone on two legs. ;) Please feel free to ask me any questions about this dynamic! I am currently a full time student in an online, fully remote, tech program so I am very flexible when it comes to location, time of day, and duration for care. From the time I was in college, I always loved pet and house sitting. Opportunities for a change of scenery, in a fresh space, and caring for fur friends is always a treat. The care completely depends on the needs of the animals and home. I have administered meds, cared for young and old pets, implemented training, embraced snuggles, and fulfilled food orders that make meals look like a sundae.

About: I have a passion for caring for dogs as well as humans. I have watch dogs since I was 16. I love helping everyone in every way I possibly can.I have worked at a Dog Kennel for 2 years until I wanted to do my own pet sitting out of my house and I love doing it! I am home all day with me two children and would make sure your loved pet get the care it needs. I would feed it off your daily schedule and take your pet on walks and take them potty every 2 hours and as needed. She was very nice. Drake loved her immediately when we met for the meet and greet. She did what I said was needed and actually went above and beyond what I had expected. She was very communicative about everything during her visits and provided pictures also. Definitely recommend her for caring for your furry family member(s). Will definitely book her again in the future.

FAQs for Pet Sitting - North Apollo

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
