Over: I have taken care of friends dogs on multiple occasions, with them staying over night. I also enjoy walking a dog for as long as they need. I also have experience with seniour dog care. I currently work 2 times a week from home and have weekends free, so I can keep your pet company full time during those 4 days. I have a protected balcony and access to 3 parks nearby my home, so I am happy to take your pet on a walk for as long as needed. To avoid hurting the dog, I have a preference to carrying them upstairs.

 I am Basma, a 27-year-old professional living and working in the Netherlands. I moved to the Netherlands back in 2019 for my master studies at Leiden University, and started working since 2021 upon graduation. My journey from the bustling streets of Shanghai to the serene parks of Den Haag to the charming canals of Amsterdam has been an exciting and amazing adventure. 

 My motivation to be a pet sitter stems from my deep love for dogs and my commitment to their well-being, and the fact that I cannot have my own doggy in the near future :-(((((. I genuinely desire to ensure that pets receive the best care and love that they deserve, even when their owners are away for holidays/busy with work. I always try my best to understand and empathize with the anxiety pet owners feel when they have to leave their furry family members behind, and I strive to provide a safe, caring, and nurturing environment for every dog I care for. Luckily my work is super flexible and I can work from home at any time if I want, meaning I can be with dogs 24/7 if needed.

 In addition to the joy of spending time with animals, being a pet sitter allows me to meet wonderful pet owners and become a trusted part of their lives. It's a rewarding experience that combines my love for dogs with the opportunity to build meaningful relationships within the community especially now I'm trying to be more extroverted.
 Last but not the least, I always respect different personalities different dogs have, so please share as much information as possible about your (and my upcoming) friend when reaching out.

 Environment & Services
 I live in a quiet and comfortable apartment by myself near Den Haag Centraal Station, nearby which there is a gaint park where I can always see a lot of people walking their dogs. As a bonus, there is also a deer park. I prefer to walk our fluffy friends there in the park, or somewhere nearby if he/she has a 'go-to' place :-)  

Good to know 
- I can go for walks 1-3 times per day (morning & afternoon), at least 30 minutes each time, or longer if needed.  
- For day care & one-night boarding (1 dog only): I will be with the dog the whole day; For multiple-night boarding (1 dog only), I can be with the dog all the time except when I need to do grocery shopping (max. 1 hour). (My job doesn't require me to work from the office, so I can be with the dog as much as needed) 
- Dogs can stay in every corner of my apartment except my bed! 
 - Home visits take approx. 30 mins (can be longer if needed upon consultation), and I'm also willing to water plants :-)

I’ve been looking after pets for over 15 years, including my own dog as well as dogs and cats belonging to friends, family, and clients. “We had such a fantastic experience with Megan and her partner Ryenn! Before the booking, we did a pre-meet and it was clear right away that they were absolute naturals with dogs. Beanie, our mini Teckel/ Dachshund, loved them from the very first moment and that immediately put us at ease. Whilst we were away they stuck closely to Beanie’s routine, which I'm sure really helped her feel at home. They took her on walks, played with her, and showered her with attention. They even tried to walk her in the rain (despite her strong opinions about that!) — it just showed how committed and thoughtful they were in giving her the best care. We also really appreciated the regular updates and photos, which reassured us that she was happy and in great hands. Beanie looked so comfortable and well-loved the whole time (we absolutely loved getting pictures of her curled up on the sofa with them! Just showed how much she loved them as she doesn't normally do that!). We’re incredibly grateful for the care they gave her and will 100% book them again. Highly recommended!”

If your dog prefers their own space or needs a little extra time to settle in, we have plenty of room to keep dogs comfortably separated while they adjust. I did my bachelor's in Art History at Leiden University and am now doing my master's in Museum Studies at the University of Amsterdam while working in collection management at the Zaans Museum. I love cold weather, the smell of coffee and cinnamon at 7am, vividly hallucinating with my books, smelling the spot behind the ears of a cat and solo traveling. I’ve been a cat owner for over ten years. In total, my parents and I have cared for three cats, and we’re lucky to still share our lives with two of them. Like many cat families, we have the full spectrum of personalities: a fluffy cuddle-lover and a more gothic, distant–yet-affectionate soul. What has always amazed me about cats is the way they teach us to see companionship differently. Being together while each doing our own thing feels like the purest form of company. Their smallest moments of joy or excitement genuinely make my day. I don’t catsit for the money—which is also why I ask for the minimum possible price on the app—but because after spending a few years without cats, I realised just how much I missed their presence. I never mind going the extra mile when it’s in their best interest. Your cats’ happiness, comfort, and health are always my top priorities. I’m currently on track to finish my MA thesis and work part time in exhibition & artist operations, so I get to spare at least one hour for each visit to your cats. I always ask for emergency vet information and pet passports as well as any special needs or circumstances to look out for that are special to your cat. In case of indoor cats I open doors attentively and don’t leave large open windows. I pay attention to your cat’s eating, drinking and litter box habits.

Over: Pets have always been a big part of my life. Growing up in the Philippines, I was surrounded by various pets: dogs, cats, and rabbits, and my love for them has only grown over the years. Since moving to the Netherlands in 2010, I have been caring for cats and dogs through house-sitting, dog walking, and cat-sitting. What makes my care special is that I truly treat every pet as if they were my own. When your furry friend stays with us, they become part of our family. My husband and I love spending time with pets, whether it’s taking them for lovely walks through the forest, along the nearby dykes, or to the beach for some fun and fresh air. At home, there is plenty of affection — cuddles on the sofa while we watch television are definitely part of the package! Since my husband and I work from home, your pet will have company and attention most of the day. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs, and I’m happy to adapt to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Depending on their needs and coat, I can also bathe and gently comb them. For me, pet sitting is more than simply looking after them —it’s about giving them companionship, affection, exercise, and a home-away-from-home experience. I love going for walks and giving pets the attention they need. Your dog will be in safe and happy hands with me! The is a dog park right next to where I live. I also have a huge fenced area at home where they will be able to run free multiple times a day! :) I speak English and Dutch. I work remotely as a freelancer and manage my own hours. This makes me very flexible, allowing me to spend plenty of quality time with the dogs both inside and outside the house. Since I do not have any pets of my own, your dog will receive my full attention and have the entire space to themselves. I am very careful with safety and will always make sure your dog feels comfortable and secure in my home.
