Over: Ik ben opgegroeid met honden (Golden Retriever en Hollandse Schapendoes) en heb de afgelopen jaren vaker op de hond van vrienden gepast (Golden Retriever x Friese Stabbij). Ik ben een echt hondenmens en het lijkt me leuk en gezellig om ook op jouw hond te passen! Ik werk parttime voor de overheid en ik geef naailessen. Ik woon sinds kort weer alleen en het lijkt me heel gezellig om in de weekenden op een hond te mogen passen. Ik ga graag wandelen (ik train voor een meerdaagse hike in september), zowel in de parken in mijn buurt als op het strand (als een hond met de tram durft). Ik heb een ruim appartement (85m2) en een groot dakterras waar een hond ook buiten kan. Er is genoeg ruimte voor een hond om zijn/haar ding te doen of te rusten op een beschut plekje.

My partner has previous experience raising and training dogs, so we understand the importance of consistency, patience, and paying attention to each dog's individual needs and personality. We also have a good understanding of basic pet safety, including foods that dogs should avoid and general precautions to keep them healthy and safe. If your dog has any special dietary requirements, feeding routines, or other specific instructions, we will carefully follow them to make sure your pet receives the care they are used to at home. Our goal is to provide a safe, loving, and comfortable environment where your dog can relax and feel like part of the family.

I'm an animal lover with experience in raising dogs (6 years), cats (2 years), and rabbits (3 years), and I also volunteer for a stray animal protection project, where I used to visit the shelter every weekend to take care of stray dogs. Over: Ik ben een grote dierenvriend en al jarenlang dé betrouwbare dierenoppas voor vrienden en familie. ik pas me makkelijk aan, afhankelijk van de wensen van uw hond/ kat. Is het een oudje? Dan kan ik lekker kroelen op de bank. Is de hond nog speels? Dan vind ik het heerlijk om een lange wandeling te maken en een balletje te gooien. Omdat ik ook graag reis en nog niet weet wat mijn plannen voor de komende jaren zijn, vind ik het niet verstandig om zelf een huisdier te nemen. Vandaar dat oppassen voor mij nu de beste optie is. Ik werk op het moment part time en donderdag is mijn vaste vrije dag. Dit zou de ideale dag zijn om op te passen. Het weekend is ook mogelijk, mits ik het op tijd weet en nog geen andere plannen heb. Ik woon zelf in een appartement met een balkon op de 3e verdieping. Er is geen lift en hiervoor moet je 6 trappen op. Voor de rest zou ik tijdens een oppasdag ervoor zorgen dat ik de hele dag beschikbaar ben en zoveel mogelijk tijd kan doorbrengen met de hond/ kat.

Vanaf dan ben ik beschikbaar! Bij mij thuis wordt een beetje lastig aangezien ik nog thuis woon, maar ik vind het zeker niet erg om bij u thuis de hond te verzorgen en aandacht te geven!

Over: I have taken care of our family cat and dog since I was young, and have pet sat for neighbors and friends for most of my life. I have often walked peoples dogs daily whilst they have been away. I have always found it important when taking care of others pets to not only provide the basic needs such as walks food and water, but more importantly to spend time playing with them and keeping them entertained whilst Im there. ‼️Please keep my pet preferences in mind, as I can't take care of large dogs, and I do not speak Dutch‼️ I am currently studying full term, and only have 2 classes a week. Besides this I spend my time at home playing videogames or working on my thesis. I also hang out with friends, but when im taking care of a fur baby, I make sure that their needs are met first or even inviting my friends over to my place for them to get double the care and love☺️ I have taken care of both dogs and cats before, and I make sure to spend time around them and see what they feel comfortable with! With dogs, I would prefer to walk them in more quiet places or their usual trail to make them feel comfortable! And when taking care of pets at home, I make sure windows are always closed and never leave out any food or dangerous items!

Over: Hoi hoi, (Ter info: mijn tarief voor opvang met overnachting is altijd 25 euro. Rover.com past dit aan naar 30 als je in het hoofdseizoen boekt, maar dat lossen we samen wel op!) Mijn ervaring: Ik ben opgegroeid met kleine (asiel)hondjes thuis en in 2011 heb ik voor het eerst een maand vrijwilligerswerk gedaan in Spanje bij een hondenasiel. In de jaren daaropvolgend heb ik in verschillende buitenlandse asielen vrijwilligerswerk gedaan (zie foto's). Daar heb ik toen ook mijn eerste hondje geadopteerd toen ze 10 jaar oud was. Ik heb in 2019 een opleiding gedaan over hondengedrag en heb natuurlijk van mijn eigen hondjes ook veel geleerd. Mijn tweede hondje heb ik in 2020 geadopteerd, ook op latere leeftijd. Eind 2024 is zij overleden en sindsdien heb ik besloten om hondenoppas te worden, want ik miste het gezelschap wel! Ik heb dus veel ervaring met (oude) hondjes en heb zelfs nog een hondenbuggy hier thuis staan voor als jouw hondje wel mee wil op lange wandelingen, maar dat niet meer goed kan. Daarnaast werk ik ook als vrijwilliger elke vrijdag bij een hondendagopvang waar de honden in een groep samen zijn, waardoor ik nog meer leer over hondengedrag. Momenteel studeer ik thuis (Besluit Houders van Dieren; honden en katten) en werk ik een dag in de week als kinderoppas (10 en 12 jaar oud). Daar is de hond altijd welkom. Wat belangrijk is om te weten: Ik woon alleen en als de hond voor vakantieopvang naar mij toekomt, moet de hond wel even zonder stress alleen thuis kunnen zijn. Ik wil namelijk wel boodschappen kunnen doen of naar mijn dansles kunnen gaan zonder dat de hond dan thuis in paniek raakt. Honden zijn bij mij welkom in het hele huis, ook op de bank (samen een filmpje kijken is wel zo gezellig!). Ze mogen alleen niet op mijn bed komen, maar als je hondje blijft slapen dan staat er altijd een fijn hondenbed naast mijn bed (of zijn/haar eigen bed). Honden zijn natuurlijk groepsdieren en daar houd ik graag rekening mee. Ik ben het gewend dat ik ze overal mee naartoe neem in de auto en zo min mogelijk alleen laat. Ik vind het juist leuk als de hond overal mee naartoe kan.

 I am Basma, a 27-year-old professional living and working in the Netherlands. I moved to the Netherlands back in 2019 for my master studies at Leiden University, and started working since 2021 upon graduation. My journey from the bustling streets of Shanghai to the serene parks of Den Haag to the charming canals of Amsterdam has been an exciting and amazing adventure. 

 My motivation to be a pet sitter stems from my deep love for dogs and my commitment to their well-being, and the fact that I cannot have my own doggy in the near future :-(((((. I genuinely desire to ensure that pets receive the best care and love that they deserve, even when their owners are away for holidays/busy with work. I always try my best to understand and empathize with the anxiety pet owners feel when they have to leave their furry family members behind, and I strive to provide a safe, caring, and nurturing environment for every dog I care for. Luckily my work is super flexible and I can work from home at any time if I want, meaning I can be with dogs 24/7 if needed.

 In addition to the joy of spending time with animals, being a pet sitter allows me to meet wonderful pet owners and become a trusted part of their lives. It's a rewarding experience that combines my love for dogs with the opportunity to build meaningful relationships within the community especially now I'm trying to be more extroverted.
 Last but not the least, I always respect different personalities different dogs have, so please share as much information as possible about your (and my upcoming) friend when reaching out.

 Environment & Services
 I live in a quiet and comfortable apartment by myself near Den Haag Centraal Station, nearby which there is a gaint park where I can always see a lot of people walking their dogs. As a bonus, there is also a deer park. I prefer to walk our fluffy friends there in the park, or somewhere nearby if he/she has a 'go-to' place :-)  

Good to know 
- I can go for walks 1-3 times per day (morning & afternoon), at least 30 minutes each time, or longer if needed.  
- For day care & one-night boarding (1 dog only): I will be with the dog the whole day; For multiple-night boarding (1 dog only), I can be with the dog all the time except when I need to do grocery shopping (max. 1 hour). (My job doesn't require me to work from the office, so I can be with the dog as much as needed) 
- Dogs can stay in every corner of my apartment except my bed! 
 - Home visits take approx. 30 mins (can be longer if needed upon consultation), and I'm also willing to water plants :-)

Over: Hoi! Ik ben Mireille en ik heb jarenlang mijn leven gedeeld met Bello, mijn Golden Retriever en beste vriend. Ik heb hem destijds geadopteerd uit het asiel en tot het einde met veel liefde mogen verzorgen. Sinds Bello er niet meer is, mis ik het hebben van een hond om me heen enorm. Vooral Golden Retrievers hebben een speciaal plekje in mijn hart. Hun zachte karakter, vrolijke hoofd en gekkigheid… daar word ik erg blij van. Daarom bied ik me graag aan als wandelmaatje of als oppas bij mij thuis. Ik hoop vooral weer af en toe dat fijne hondencontact te hebben en tegelijk een eigenaar te helpen die een oppas zoekt, want ik weet hoe moeilijk het kan zijn. Ik heb ervaring met puber en senior honden, medicatie, snuffelwandelingen, honden met een rugzakje en het aanpassen aan wat een hond op dat moment nodig heeft. Ik woon in een appartementencomplex (met lift), met een grote achtertuin voor een gezellige speelsessie en een tuin aan de voorkant waar lekker gewandeld kan worden. Verder zijn er diverse parken in de buurt. Korte wandelingen, langere snuffelroutes, lekker spelen met de bal of een logeerpartijtje, ik kijk graag samen wat past bij jou(w hond). Ik werk deels vanuit huis en ben flexibel in overleg. Bij mij krijgt je hond aandacht, liefde, rust en wandelingen op zijn of haar tempo. Ik werk hybride en fulltime, deels kantoor en thuis. Ik ben beschikbaar voor opvang gedurende dag of logeerpartijtjes met name in het weekend. In overleg is er veel mogelijk en ik denk graag mee waar nodig. Ik woon in een appartementencomplex met aangrenzend een grote achtertuin voor een tussendoortje speelsessie. Voor wandelingen kunnen we voor het appartement terecht en bij diverse parkjes in de buurt!

Over: I’ve been caring for pets most of my life, starting with my own cats and dogs back home in Aruba. I primarily care for pets in their own home because it's less stressful for them! I stick to their usual routine for feeding, walks, and playtime. Their safety is my top priority, so I make sure everything is secure and they feel comfortable and trusted with me.

Over: Op jonge leeftijd ben ik altijd al de honden uit de buurt gaan uitlaten en mee naar het park gaan nemen. Ook vond ik het altijd zo leuk om naar mijn tantes te gaan omdat zij honden hadden en ik daar dan de hele dag voor mocht zorgen. Daar heb ik veel van geleerd en heeft er voor gezorgd dat ik goed met honden om kan gaan. Op dit moment ben ik smiddags beschikbaar om honden uit te laten of met honden te spelen. Ik kan ook richting de avond in overleg. Als ik bij u thuis moet oppassen op de hond of pup gaat natuurlijk de volle aandacht naar de hond en het spelen of trainen daarvan. I’m very familiar with medium and large-sized dogs, as I often help my friends and neighbors walk and take care of their dogs and I used to have a Border Collie–German Shepherd mix when I was a kid (sadly she’s already in heaven now). As a young person with passion and energy, I’m comfortable engaging dogs in active play such as fetch, frisbee, and tug-of-war to help them burn off energy in a healthy and enjoyable way, instead of just a normal “walk”. At a client’s home, I would follow their instructions carefully and prioritize the pet’s safety, comfort, and routine. I would make sure the pet has fresh water, appropriate food if required, and a clean environment. I would also spend time interacting with the pet based on its personality and needs, whether that means active play, gentle companionship, or simply keeping them calm and company. During walks, I would ensure the dog is always safely leashed and avoid risky situations with other animals or traffic. I would also pay attention to any signs of stress or discomfort and adjust my behavior accordingly.

Over: I love dogs and I live in Wassenaar. I volunteer every Wednesday afternoon as dog walker by the animal shelter Dierentehuis Stevenshage in Leiden! Over: I have taken care of our family cat and dog since I was young, and have pet sat for neighbors and friends for most of my life. I have often walked peoples dogs daily whilst they have been away. I have always found it important when taking care of others pets to not only provide the basic needs such as walks food and water, but more importantly to spend time playing with them and keeping them entertained whilst Im there. I’ve also stayed with dogs who are crated and am comfortable with crate commands. For their safety, I highly recommend crating puppies under 2 years old and any dog with a pattern of chewing or swallowing household items (remotes, pillows, etc.) when you are not home. Crate-trained pets will be crated per the owner’s instructions. Having an 11-year-old husky means I have had my fair share of experience with unexpected veterinary visits and emergencies. I am comfortable communicating symptoms to veterinary professionals with thorough details as needed. I have years of experience monitoring pets’ symptoms when they are sick, providing at home first aid, and acting quickly when additional care is needed. Veterinary Care & Emergency Transport Policy: While veterinary care and especially emergency veterinary care is a rare circumstance of a booking, pets can be unpredictable. When a medical facility advises veterinary care based on a description of symptoms over the phone, pet sitter will advise seeking veterinary care. If pet owner objects to seeking veterinary care when medically necessary, pet owner will be responsible for either taking over care of their pet themselves or securing a different caregiver expeditiously. To ensure the pet sitter is adequately compensated in extenuating circumstances, please be advised that for any unexpected or emergency travel or transport, pet sitter will provide receipts and apply a charge for reimbursement of costs incurred to your booking. An additional charge will also be applied to the cost of your booking at an hourly rate starting at the time of departure to the vet and ending at the time of either arrival to your home or, if your pet is required to stay at the vet, departure from the vet + time it takes to travel to the pet sitter’s home from the vet. This will include any additional trips back and forth to and from the vet to visit or pick up your pet based on the roundtrip to the vet from pet sitter’s or your home. Hourly rates are as follows: 8am-5pm: €10/hr 5pm-10pm: €12/hr 10pm-8am: €16/hr Holidays & Weekends: €18/hr *veterinary emergency room visit wait times can exceed 8 hours on weekends and holidays Cleaning & Vehicle Damage Policy: If pet sitter is required to clean up bodily fluids due to illness (vomit, urine, blood, diarrhea, etc) in order to maintain a safe environment in your home, their own home, or their personal vehicle, a one-time fee of €40 will be applied to your booking. The pet sitter will also require reimbursement by the pet owner for any cleaning supplies that are not readily available in the pet owner’s home. Injury To Pet Sitter Policy: If, under any circumstance, the pet sitter is injured by a pet, the pet sitter will require reimbursement for related medical expenses by the pet owner.

He died and I would love to reconnect with that playful and caring energy pets bring in me. I am currently studying and working online once a week. Leo (my cat) was intended to stay Ivan for 7 days, I then had to extend my trip unexpectedly - Ivan was super understanding, flexible and accommodating. Leo was on antibiotics for a few days in Ivan's care, and Ivan made sure that he finished his medication. I received daily updates on Leo's well-being and when I returned, Leo was healthy and well looked-after. I would definitely book Ivan (and his sister) again when I go on another trip!”

Ik heb ervaring met puber en senior honden, medicatie, snuffelwandelingen, honden met een rugzakje en het aanpassen aan wat een hond op dat moment nodig heeft. Ik woon in een appartementencomplex (met lift), met een grote achtertuin voor een gezellige speelsessie en een tuin aan de voorkant waar lekker gewandeld kan worden. Verder zijn er diverse parken in de buurt. Korte wandelingen, langere snuffelroutes, lekker spelen met de bal of een logeerpartijtje, ik kijk graag samen wat past bij jou(w hond). Ik werk deels vanuit huis en ben flexibel in overleg. Bij mij krijgt je hond aandacht, liefde, rust en wandelingen op zijn of haar tempo. Ik werk hybride en fulltime, deels kantoor en thuis. Over: I’ve been caring for my little crew at home for years now – two cats I’ve had since they were tiny kittens, and my rescue dog who’s been with me since he was two. We all live together in a cozy two-bedroom apartment with a balcony, and, it’s perfect for us. I work from home, so I’m pretty much always around, which means there’s always someone to give belly rubs, toss a toy, or just hang out with the pets.

I have taken care of pets from friends and family from sizes small to medium (up to around35kgs) and also cats (kittens and adults) I work full time remote! So i can give a lot of love and attention to your fur babies! My dog does potty break 3x a day, we live near a fenced dog park about 5min walk!
