“Dawn Star took wonderful care of my two dogs while my family and I were out of town for a long weekend. I came back home to happy dogs and a well cared for home. This was my first experience with a house sitter and found my dogs to be much more relaxed at the end of the stay compared to when they board at a facility. One of my dogs is very high energy, and the other is more reserved. Dawn Star handled their particular dynamics without issues. About: Friendly sitter with experience with senior pups, cats and chickens. I currently have two wonderful dogs and a handful of chickens. One of our dogs is what we believe is a Foxhound and the other is a Shepherd mix. Both are rescues so we are not sure. I also have experience with cats, parrots (green crowned conure) and various farm animals. Update: I no longer work from home. I am now in Richmond M-F, 8-5. I am happy to stop by during my lunch break to check on your babies in the city. Any other surrounding areas would have to be weekends and not during work hours. Apologies for any inconvenience! About: I have been a dog and cat owner/lover/advocate my whole life. I miss having my own pets so much so I pet sit during our travels and while we are home too! I’m a massage therapist and energy worker so animals LOVE my touch and calming presence. I’m very active and love long walks. I’m totally comfortable with large dogs. I have retired early so my schedule is very flexible. I am happy to travel to pet sits. I tend to do pet sitting in Florida during the months of January and February. I love having dogs and cats in my home. There is a little river behind my house and the national forest and Sherando Lake Recreation Area is just beyond the river so there’s lots of space for long walks. Tina is the absolute best rover we have ever had!! We were out of the country when our dog sitter had to cancel unexpectedly. We were extremely nervous about finding someone last minute that we trusted for our two dogs that we love like our children, PLUS with the threat of a massive snowstorm. She took care of our puppies as if they were her own, sent lots of videos and pictures, and gave us lots of updates to put us at ease. She was even able to identify some health things that might be going on with our senior dog & our allergy-affected 2 year old dog, which we will have looked at when we get home. Tina is a wonderful person and rover. She really cares about animals, and is understanding and patient. Having two dogs can be a lot, especially with a senior dog and a puppy. In all honesty, I usually have so much anxiety about leaving our dogs with anyone and sometimes cannot relax on vacation. This was not the case with Tina. I felt fully confident and trusted her completely. We hope to book with her whenever we need to leave town from now on! And our girls seemed so happy and loved her, too!
