About: As a veterinary technician with hands-on experience caring for dogs, cats, exotics, and farm animals, I bring an extra level of knowledge and confidence to pet care. I'm comfortable administering medications, monitoring pets for signs of illness or discomfort, and caring for senior pets or those with special medical needs. I understand animal behavior, body language, and stress signals, allowing me to tailor my approach to each pet's personality and needs. Beyond my professional experience, I'm a lifelong animal lover pursuing veterinary school, so caring for animals is genuinely my passion. Whether your pet needs an energetic walking companion, a patient friend while you're away, or attentive care during a medical recovery, I'll treat them with the same compassion and attention I'd give my own pets. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. Right now, I have a flexible schedule, which allows me to accommodate a variety of booking types, including daytime visits, walks, overnight stays, and last-minute requests when my availability allows. Every pet is unique, so I always take the time to learn their normal routine and preferences before a visit. Whether I'm stopping in for a drop-in visit, taking your dog for a walk, or staying overnight, my goal is to keep your pet's routine as consistent and stress-free as possible. I'll make sure they receive plenty of love, attention, exercise, playtime, fresh food and water, potty breaks, and any medications they may need.

About: I have been taking care of dogs/animals ever since I was 9. I have experience with puppies all the way to blind seniors who need special attention and care. I also have experience with pregnant dogs. I am able to give meds and/or shots. I am currently a vet tech at a reputable animal clinic near me 4 days a week (Mon,Tues, wed, fri) from 9-6 but I am generally flexible outside of that! As of right now I am unable to offer pet sitting services at my house as my current dog isn’t friendly with others. However when I go to your home I will be respectful of whatever house rules you have in place and do my best to leave your house as I found it.

Morgan took great care of my dog Jag. His communication with me was fantastic, he took photos, provided me with updates, and looked after him very well. Morgan was good enough to stop by to do a meet and greet with my dog to make sure that they got along before watching him, which I very much appreciated. I highly recommend Morgan!!

I have 2+ years of experience with taking care of bearded dragons and I’ve had a couple visits with snakes, specifically corn snakes. I work with any and all dogs/cats. I’m available any day and any time of the week. I’m usually available last minute as well and around holidays if needed. I currently have 4 dogs; 3 Yorkies and 1 Boarder Collie mix. About: I am a reliable, responsible, and caring pet owner with hands-on experience caring for two dogs and one cat. Through daily pet care, I have developed a strong understanding of animal needs, including feeding schedules, exercise, grooming, administering basic care, cleaning up after pets, and recognizing changes in behavior that may indicate stress or illness. As a teacher on summer break, I am looking for a reliable source of income while school is out. My background in education reflects my patience, responsibility, and commitment to caring for others. I have experience caring for my own pets—two dogs and one cat—and understand the importance of consistency, trust, and attention to detail. Pet owners can count on me to be dependable, communicative, and attentive to their pets’ needs. I am excited to spend my summer helping families by providing quality pet care and companionship for their furry family members. 🐾 I have experience caring for my own two dogs and one cat, so I understand the importance of maintaining routines and making pets feel comfortable in a new environment. My resident cat is accustomed to other animals, and I carefully monitor all introductions and interactions to ensure everyone’s safety and comfort. If needed, I can also provide separate spaces for pets that prefer a quieter environment.

About: Hello! My name is Alicia and I have had my own furry companions or cared for furry companions since I was a young child. I currently own my own rescue shelter and am very qualified to care for yours as well. I am a shift work firefighter/paramedic and only work 8 days a month. So the days I place on my availability schedule I am typically home. I may run an errand or two but can work that around the needs/wants of my clients. If I was to care for your furry companion I would make sure they are fed and have plenty of water. If they require anything special or extra I can manage that as well. I will play with them and spend time with them so they can get some wiggles and energy out. I can take them on a walk and make sure they go potty.

About: We are a military family and have three children (youngest is 15). We live on 41 acres, mostly all forest. We own four horses, two barn cats, two goats, four sheep, a bunch of chickens, a bearded dragon, an house cat, and three small dogs so we have a large variety of animal experience. We have an abundance of wild life that visit us almost daily which is always exciting. We absolutely love animals and spoil them to no end here. If you are just looking for a dog walker or someone to drop in at your home, I can certainly do that at least twice a day where needed. I just ask that your pet be leash trained beforehand. I am comfortable with a wide variety of animals in all different sizes so do not hesitate to ask me about other animals besides cats and dogs. Hope to hear from you soon! I am currently working part time as a large animal veterinarian assistant but there is someone at the house most the day. We can accommodate just about any schedule within reason. We have a small fenced back yard and three small dogs for playmates (the cat mostly hides 95% of the day). The rest of our property is secluded in the woods. Probably best to actively be on tick meds as even if we never go in to the woods, the woods do completely surround us and we have found a few ticks on the dogs in our two and a half years here so far. Kennel time as needed only, we prefer “down time” of just lounging around freely whenever possible, but do require animals to be kennel trained just in case something urgent or emergent arises.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Newport. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Newport.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

  • 89% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
