About: I have been with pets my whole life! There’s always been a dog or cat or both around. When I was about 10/11 years old, I would dog sit 9 dogs! Taking them out in the yard, feeding, and treating them! I currently have downsized to just one cat, she’s a needy but sweet girl. I also have experience in care for small animals as well (rabbits, fish, snakes, etc.) id like to add that while i appreciate Rover and the connections it does create for myself and your family - it takes a good chunk of fees. i am open to all the above: most online payments (such as cashapp, venmo, etc.) as well as cash and check. neither myself or your time away from your pets should be taxed! I’m new to the DMV area and looking for some employment so my schedule is quite open at the moment and I’m also flexible even when employed full time, with discussion. In my home, my cat is spoiled! She’s a happy girl with plenty to do and loves to lounge around with me during my off days. In someone else’s home, I am respectful and clean. I have plenty of experience in house sitting with and without pets involved.

About: Hello! My name is Haley. I grew up in a pet loving home my family always had such a fondness for all animals. My house can be somewhat of a zoo with two dogs, three bunnies and a handful of cats but I wouldn’t change it for the world. We all recently relocated to Maine! It’s been terrific seeing the dogs play out in the snow. A true joy. Looking to get out meet people and their awesome pets. I would love to help you take care of your pup, big or small, and whatever the need may be to keep our furry friend’s tails wagging happily. Feel free to ask me anything else. Thank you so much for stopping by my profile! I currently have completely open availability, including overnight stays, check ins throughout the day or days, and some traveling depending on the distance to consider. Years of leash experience with one or more dogs at a time. Can easily administer medications. Monitor play time and keep a watchful eye for any possible issues.

About: My name is Andreas, and I am an NYC-based actor/singer/dancer/dog-lover! I grew up in the beautiful, rural forests of Maine, and my family always had at least two dogs in our family while growing up! I have cared for dogs my whole life, and I have done it professionally for over 10 years. I am passionate about health/fitness, and I will happily share my healthy habits with your best friend! Whether on a walk, on a run, cuddling on the couch, feeding your pet breakfast/dinner, I will always care for Man's Best Friend with my 100% heart. Your pup will be in safe paws with me! Fun fact: I have played "MAX" (The Grinch's dog!) on The Broadway National Tour of How The Grinch Stole Christmas: The Musical for three years, so I know the mind of a dog quite well...! I’m currently working part-time with plenty of time for walking, sitting, boarding, playing, and taking care of pets! I have various clients who I work with independently but am happy to accept new Rover clients. My home is a spacious one bedroom apartment in lower Washington Heights. I am on the first floor with only a few stairs, so perfect for walking pups while they’re staying with me! I live by myself and am able to take great care of your best friend.

About: I know dogs need exercise, discipline, and affection. I know it can be challenging to find the right pet care that is trustworthy and reliable. I’ll do my best to give your pet the care they need! I am a massage therapist for part of the week and I homeschool my children when I’m not working. My schedule is somewhat flexible and I have extra time to fill here and there with pet care. I will feed, walk, or give your animals attention based on clients request and animals requirements. Whether it’s In the yard, taking them for a walk or just sitting petting them, I’ll give them what they need.

Carla provided exceptional care for our cat during our 2-week trip. Communication was excellent and the daily photos of our cat assured us that all was well. Our cat is very emotionally expressive and she looked 100% happy to be in Carla's lap. We will definitely hire Carla again the next time we need a sitter.

Melissa struck me as a mature, articulate, cheerful, and responsible adult. She did a wonderful job dropping in and taking care of my kitties and my home for 4 days. She also would’ve been available an extra day had my travel plans gone awry. Her communications and photos were timely and thorough. This trip was during a time of below zero temperatures outside, so it was nice to not worry about home/heat/freeze issues. My cats seem to have enjoyed her too. Thank you!

About: I’ve worked at 2 doggy daycares in the last few years where we did boarding. I’ve also worked in a cat boarding facility and have worked at pet stores for about 5-6 years. I was trusted with cleaning up after and giving medications to pets that needed it. I’m currently working part time in Freeport so I’ll have plenty of time to take care of your pets and spend time with them and take them on walks depending on weather. I live in a wooded area with access to tie outs so your pets and I could sit outside on good days and play. I have an extra room in the house where I can easily board your pet but would require you to bring a crate if they’re crate trained depending on the size of the pet. I do have two crates available that I could use if you’re unable to bring their crate. I have 2 cats in the household along with my fiance so they would have to be cat and man friendly.

Rachel provided wonderful care for our three dogs and 2 cats while we were away. She stopped by for drop-in visits and stayed for two overnights. She was very professional and continued to provide photo and written updates through the Rover app. She was attentive to the needs and individual personalities of our pets. Our pets appeared relaxed and happy under her care. We definitely recommend Rachel's services and would love to have her sit for us again!

Ricky was so great with my 2 cats while I was away on vacation for a week. He was Very responsive to text messages, and made sure the cats were well taken care of. My cats were a bit elusive and hesitant at first, but once I saw pictures of both of them interacting with Ricky, I was put at ease knowing they trusted him.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
