“We couldn’t have asked for anyone better than Tenashia to care for our kittens and puppies! Her communication was top-notch from start to finish, always keeping us updated and at ease. You can tell she genuinely loves animals and treats them like her own. It’s such a relief to have someone we trust so much—thank you, Tenashia, for taking such wonderful care of our babies!”

“Sydnie was such an amazing pet sitter for our gang! They were loved on and taken such great care of. She eased my mind totally so that we could enjoy our vacation and not worry so much about our fur babies. She had it handled! We will definitely have her watch them again if she can.”

About: I have always owned and loved animals. Dogs, cats, birds, fish. This included all feeding and cleaning. These days we have a dog and 2 cats. I currently manage our businesses from home, allowing me plenty of time to love on your babies. I have a pretty open availability, making me a great option in a pinch! I come to your home and follow your instructions for feeding and caring. Of course, if its just checking in and changing litter or cleaning up messes, I do that, too. The pets and belly rubs are free!!
“Had Melanie watch my cat Bella for 10 days and she was great. The key I left didn’t work (my bad 😅), but she was resourceful and still got in to take care of Bella. Got great updates the whole time, and I came home to a happy, healthy cat who clearly got plenty of love. Absolutely booking her again.”

I typically have a lot of free time because I have school online and only have a very specific yet open work schedule! My part-time job is also very understanding, so I am open to taking off to add in a pet visit. Because of my love for animals, I will always be around them and making sure they are okay and well-accounted for! I never like seeing animals upset in any way, so I try to make sure they’re always happy, whether that’s feeding them , playing with them, or even relaxing in the couch with them!

About: I have over 10 years of experience caring for dogs and other animals. While I was stationed at Fort Polk, many of my fellow Soldiers would go on leave, travel home for the holidays, or be away for training. Since I stayed in Louisiana and did not travel because I purchased my home here, I was often happy to help by caring for their pets. I would feed them, take them on walks, play with them, exercise them, make sure they had fresh water, and give them plenty of attention until their owners returned. I have experience with dogs of different sizes, breeds, and energy levels, and I understand that every pet has its own personality and routine. I am CPR certified, physically fit, dependable, and treat every animal like family. I have a spacious home where pets have room to relax and feel comfortable, and I will always make sure they receive the care, exercise, and affection they deserve. My goal is to provide a safe, loving environment so you can have peace of mind while you are away. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide dependable pet care throughout the week. As a 1099 contractor, my hours vary, which gives me the ability to work around your pet’s needs. Whether your pet needs a morning walk, midday check-in, evening care, or overnight attention, I will do my best to accommodate your schedule. I understand how important consistency is, and I am committed to making sure your pet feels comfortable, loved, and well cared for while you are away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I provide a clean, calm, and loving environment where every pet is treated like family. I am CPR certified and have experience caring for both dogs and cats of all ages and personalities. My wife and I have rescued stray cats and cared for numerous animals over the years, so we understand the patience and attention every pet deserves. I carefully follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, exercise routines, and any special requests you have. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is safe, happy, and receiving excellent care.
About: I’ve been a veterinary technician for 8 years with knowledge and experience to care for a variety of needs for all types of pets. What this means for you: when you book with me you’re booking for gold standard care of a luxury style in home boarding vs. kennel boarding. I typically only work 3 days a week leaving me with open availability for the other days. These days do vary, but can be discussed further to meet needs. I have a privacy fence for a large play and potty area. Pets will be walked on the regular for exercise and feed as requested by the owner. All boarding/daycare dogs are required to be up to date on core vaccines (records provided prior to drop off) and flea/tick/heartworm prevention. They also must be provided a crate. This is to ensure safety of your pet.
About: I bring 15+ years of professional experience in crisis intervention and behavioral health to every dog in my care — which means I’m especially good at reading stress, anxiety, and behavioral cues that other sitters might miss. I live on a spacious rural property with two resident dogs of my own, plenty of room to run, and XL crates set up for large and giant breeds. I’m confident and calm handling big, strong dogs, and I treat every pup like part of the family while they’re with me. Whether your dog needs a quiet, structured space or some extra patience working through anxiety, I’ve got both the background and the room to make it happen. I work a full-time job during the week, but pet care is built into my daily routine — mornings before work and evenings after are dedicated to walks, feeding, and playtime. I’m fully available for boarding and daycare on weekends, and since I live on-site at my property full-time, dogs in my care are never left alone for long stretches. Because my schedule is steady and predictable, your dog gets consistent care at the same times every day — not rushed, last-minute visits. My property is rural and spacious, giving dogs plenty of room to roam safely away from traffic and busy streets. I have two friendly, well-socialized resident dogs who are used to welcoming new dogs into the pack. For dogs who need crate time or a calmer introduction, I have XL crates set up specifically for large and giant breeds. With 15+ years of professional experience in behavioral health and crisis intervention, I’m trained to catch stress and anxiety cues early — so small issues get handled before they become big ones.

My goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing your pet is receiving the same compassion, patience, and attention I’d want for my own Sweetnezz, Sugar, and Meow. I provide loving, dependable care in the comfort of your pet’s own home, where they feel the safest and most relaxed. I follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible to help reduce stress and keep them happy while you’re away. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - New Iberia
Jerri was wonderful with Coco & BenJamin’! She came to our home and had a meet & greet with us the evening before. They both acted like they had known her forever. She kept us well informed during the morning and visit, sending pictures and letting us know how it was going. Coco never eats when we’re gone but Jerri worked her magic getting her to eat. We are grateful to have found her and plan on having her come for regular weekly visits. Thank you, Jerri!!!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
