“This was my first time leaving my giant baby teddy bear of a pupper Milo for a couple of days while my family and I were traveling. Vanessa was truly an angel and took care of my pup perfectly and sent me pictures and updates throughout the day everyday I was away. I didn’t have to worry one bit while my pupper was with Vanessa. I wouldn’t hesitate to bring Milo over whenever we do need her help. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience, and I haven’t even mentioned how sweet and caring she is. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! :)”

“Jessica was GREAT!!! if I could leave 10 stars I would. This was my wife and I first time using Rover and the first time leaving our pup for a long period of time but Jessica made us feel comfortable from start to finish. The most important thing is that she made our pup Marliey feel comfortable. She sent videos kept us updated on everything Marliey was doing. We will definitely be boarding with Jessica again in the near future.”

“Vickie and Heath were amazing with our two dogs. Always reaching out to give us updates and going above and beyond to make them feel like they were loved and part of their home. We could not have asked for better sitters.”

“We left our baby Bella with Christine and I must say, she seemed like she did not want to come back 😂 She was in good spirits and clearly felt comfortable with her and her husband, Bella doesn’t like anyone carrying her but felt very comfortable with Christine. I would certainly recommend her for anyone looking to have their precious pup to have a loving and comfortable place to stay! Thank you for taking such good care of our precious little girl ❤️”

“I couldn’t be happier with the care our dog received. From the moment we dropped him off, it was clear he was in great hands. The sitter was warm, attentive, and kept us updated with photos and messages throughout the stay. Our dog came home relaxed, happy, and clearly well-loved. It’s such a relief to find someone trustworthy who treats your dog like family. Highly recommended—will definitely be booking again! 🐾💛”

“Samantha was great. My dog is pretty anxious, but Samantha made her feel comfortable, and my dog seemed perfectly happy when I picked her up. I would be happy to book with Samantha again.”

“Great communication and loved all the pictures I received. My dog and I are pretty attached but I could tell he enjoyed his time, was sufficiently entertained and spoiled. I would absolutely book with Teresa again. Thank you!”
“My Theo spent four days with John this past weekend. It was a wonderful experience. John and Nicole clearly love dogs, and I felt that Theo got great care while with them. And they sent me pictures everyday, which I really appreciated!”

“Kathleen was great. We were nervous leaving our dog for 4 days but Kathleen and her family were great with her. She sent us alot of updates and pictures which was very reassuring!”

“This was our first time having Jia take care of our pup and it definitely will not be the last time. Jia was extremely kind and gentle with our Koda. She sent daily updates and pictures. Koda had a great time with Jia and her family. I highly recommend Jia for your pet care needs.”

“Loved Roseanna’s kindness! So grateful she was able to take my puppy into boarding at such a short notice. Really communicative, gave constant updates on Simba through photos and videos, very easy to reach!”

“The day before our wedding our dog sitter bailed on us. Elias and family came to the rescue and immediately came to the rescue and took our doggies into their loving home. Our dogs have never slept away from us and we were provided updates to comfort us that they we happy comfortable and not missing us. I would highly recommend booking them. We couldn’t have received better care for our pups anywhere else!!”

“Jennifer was very caring and diligent in taking care of Ava and sent daily updates during Ava’s boarding stay. She was proactive in communicating issues with care and was very responsive. We would come back to Jennifer given an opportunity for future boarding / day care.”

“Jenny and her family took such great care of my fur baby. I loved the daily pictures and videos to update me on my pup. She was so happy and her vibrant self. I was afraid she would be sad since this was the first time we spent more than a couple of days apart, but Jenny and her family took such great care of her that she was able to get comfortable almost instantly. I would definitely book with them again.”

“She was very nice and helpful with my last minute reservation. My puppy was well taken care of and loved the updates with pictures/videos. Would definitely recommend her for your furry friends.”

About: I have taken care of pets my whole life so I can take care of puppies to elderly dogs. Most dogs love me and want to come play and pet. I also have a 2.5yr old son who absolutely LOVES dogs. We are happy to take care of dogs with special needs or is on mediations. We had a cat that just recently passed away and she would have been 19yrs old this year. She had asthma and we had to give her an inhaler 2x a day for 10 years. Happy to help your family with any special needs. We will love them like our own while you are away. I currently run my own business and work from home. I have a very flexible schedule so I can fairly easily adopt to your needs and help out wherever I can. I have a nice size home so your dog will have lots of free range all over the house. I live in a very pet friendly community so there are a ton of dogs around and a nice place to go walking the dog.
About: I have many years of experience with dogs. I have babysat and cared for friends dogs and also for my own dog. I recently adopted a cat so I also have a little over a year of experience with looking over cats. I have lots of free time to be able to play and care for your pets. I don’t have many distractions during the day meaning my full attention will be caring for your fur babies. I have a fenced in yard and a pretty spacious home. There is lots of room for my cat to roam around. He even has his own room and his own bathroom. There isn’t a lot of traffic around my neighborhood so I like to let my cat outside on a leash so he can feel the sun on his face.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their New Hanover Township home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your New Hanover Township.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your New Hanover Township sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
