About: My first puppy was at 12 years old and since then I knew i never wanted to be without a dog for the rest of my life. I have experience training puppies, caring for studs and dames, and most recently caring for and putting an elder dog down. Personally, having someone trusted to care for my dogs is the biggest stress relief to me - and I want to be that for someone else. I work 4 days a week in a very flexible schedule with most weekends off. I make my own work schedule so if we get to know each other well I can plan my day around your pet for the long term Quality leashes are a must. Pets always get leashed inside before we even open up any doors. If I feel like your pets requires a different type of leash I can give my best opinion on what you should be using so that we're all safe and feel good on our walk
“Megan is everything that you look for in a Sitter, but never find. Megan and my Bichon bonded immediately. Lexi doesn't roll over for a belly rub until she is really comfortable with someone, and that usually takes being around that person a number of times, but she rolled over and wanted a belly rub the first time Megan was here to watch her. Megan remembered everything that we had gone over at the Meet & Greet. She was on time for the Sitting. It's normally hard to leave your dog with someone new, but I was 100% comfortable leaving Lexi with Megan, as I saw how they adored each other. Megan sent some really cute pictures of Lexi, which I really enjoyed seeing. I had complete trust in Megan, which is a great feeling, as it usually takes a little bit of time to build this level of trust. I couldn't be happier, and feel very fortunate to have found such an amazing Sitter for Lexi. I already have Megan scheduled to watch Lexi 2 more times in the very near future. If you want to have peace of mind and know that your pet is being taken care of by an incredible Sitter, I highly recommend Megan.”

About: I have been watching our neighbors and family friend’s dogs and doing drop-ins since I was little. My family has also had a dog since I was in highschool. I take him on walks every evening and am responsible for feeding and letting him out when my family is out of town. As well as my sisters dog when she stays with us. I am available throughout the day to do drop-in’s, go on walks or spend time with them at home throughout the day. Aside from a random day I have plans, my schedule is very flexible. I have a dog I take on walks at home and enjoy being outside with. As well as playing/throwing their toys or sitting together at home.
About: I’ve had my own dog for 12 years, and have been working with dogs for years at a doggy daycare! I love to hang out, play with them, and ensure they’re happy and well taken care of!😁 I have lots of space for them to play, an awesome family who helps and a nice neighborhood to take them on walks as well! Comfortable, spacious, clean and loving environment!😁 I currently already work with dogs part-time at the dog stop (doggy daycare)! I have my own pup as well, and have plenty of time any day of the week for dogs to board! I have a spacious and clean home for them to play and hang out in, a nice big yard and a great neighborhood for walks! 😁 in a clients home as well as my own.. I’ll spend lots of time hanging with, playing with and keeping them company! Take them for walks, give them a nice big bed with a warm blanket, get them nice clean water and lots of love and comfort! 😁I’m also good at reading dog behavior and body language, and can calmly attend to whatever they need!
About: I’ve been around animals my whole life but my first job years ago in high school was at a veterinary hospital/ boarding. Because I was still in high school I was mainly in the kennels taking care of all the wonderful fur babies while their parents were out of town. Also, after informing the doctors that I was aspiring to become a vet, they allowed me to put on some scrubs and help out occasionally. I quickly realized that I was going to find a different way to care for animals 😂 Since then I have raised my own dogs and cared for animals of friends and family and have worked a few jobs at doggie daycares. I am an early riser because of my job so if your fur baby is too, they will fit right in! I work construction so I will be out for a portion of the day, but my wife works from home so her and our two pups will always be there to keep your baby company and make them feel right at home! At my house, no where is off limits for a furry friend. We can do anything to accommodate your fur babies to make sure they’re comfortable with their stay and you can have peace of mind that they will be happy and safe while you are away!
“Hannah took care of our cat and dog while we were away and everything went so smoothly. She was in touch regularly with updates and didn’t hesitate to ask any questions that she had, making for a smooth week for the pup and kitty!”

“Rosie did such an amazing job watching our Forrest & Teddy! Both dogs loved her right off the bat during our meet and greet. She sent us plenty of pictures while we were on our trip, which made us feel good knowing our dogs were in such good hands. She spoiled our pups with the treats I had ready, which surely solidified my dogs’ love for her. I really appreciate that Rosie didn’t just stop by to let our dogs out; she went above and beyond spending quality time with them outside, giving them love and exercise while we were gone. I will definitely book Rosie again, and plan on having her become part of our travel routine when we can’t bring our dogs with us!”

“Francesca was so sweet. She did an excellent job caring for Sarge, going above and beyond by taking him on extra long walks (which are his favorite!) and was great with communication/sending pictures and updates. She also left the house spotless!!”

“Kiara did such an amazing job watching my pup! My pup is reactive and nervous around strangers and she followed all of my instruction on how to interact with him and everything went great!”

“Ava is great! She was able to watch bear last minute and she took such good care of him. He loves her dog Molly and they play really well together. Ava is quick to respond and respected our wishes for Bear’s care.”

“Jarett was wonderful. Freya was unfamiliar with him at first but they are now friends. We will happily have him stay with her again. He kept us informed of her well-being, which is always a big relief when you’re away from home.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter! Mamie took such great care of our dogs while we were away, especially during the storms and Fourth of July fireworks, which can be stressful for them. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such caring and attentive hands. She was incredibly communicative, sending regular check-ins and lots of photos, which we truly appreciated. Seeing our pups happy and comfortable made it so much easier to relax while we were away. Highly recommend!”

“Bea did an exceptional job housesitting and taking care of our pups while we were on vacation! She was kind, dependable, and communicative. We felt a sense of relief knowing that our dogs could be comfortable in their normal home environment and well-cared for while we were away.”

“Kristie is thoughtful and lovely. She is an extremely considerate pet sitter. Dixon and Bit almost didn’t want us to come home. They had a great time with her. Dixon was brushed and petted and generally extremely happy. I’m thrilled. We will love to have her stay with our fur babies again”

“Victoria is excellent with our special needs dog plus agreed to watch my grand furkids during Labor Day weekend. She was very respectful of our home & kept in touch throughout the stay. I highly recommend her if you prefer a petsitter v kennel. Highest praise on all aspects (our boy can be a bugger) & recommend 10 stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Muse walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Muse maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Muse choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Muse. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 91% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
