About: I had a 7 year old male chihuahua since he was a puppy, he is no longer with me. I currently have a nearly 2 year old female Alaskan malamute (65lbs) and 9 year old male cat (8lbs) both of which I have had since they were a few months old, except the cat. The cat was found in a dumpster as a kitten so very young. They are up to date on vaccines and fixed with no health issues. I love them very much and they are very friendly to other animals, people, and children. I love animals and pets. I can help train basic commands. I don't put animals in crates, they free roam the house. I don't let them on the furniture however. I am welcome to taking dogs on hikes with me if you would like me to on the weekends and I will always let you know when and where I will be. I'm not sure how to do injections but I don't mind if you show me how to do it. As well as senior care, if there is anything special care needs, you can always send me a message about it. I work 2 varying days a week, so I am open to puppy/doggy sitting in my home at any time of day on the days that I'm off. I have a fenced backyard and another fenced yard inside of it that has a heated dog shed in it so dogs/puppies can stay warm or wander outside. The dog shed has a camera set up for alerts and is live and recorded so I can keep a good eye on dogs and make sure they are always safe. I also have a 2 year old female Alaskan Malamute to keep your doggo company. I usually put my malamute in the indoor/outdoor dog area if I am running quick errands but she is usually indoors with me in the home. I also have a small fenced in area near our home entrance so whenever my dog needs to pee/poo, she rings the door bells and I let her out unleashed. My dog is never leashed or in a crate at home. In my home I do have a 8 year old male cat that is really friendly. I let our animals free roam the house, but they arent allowed on furniture. We live in the upper unit of a duplex.

About: I have owned my senior dog, Bella -- a Boxer, since she was 8 months old. My husband and I have had multiple dogs together for the last 9 years. Two have passed, one in 2021 and the other in early 2023, related to age. We missed them terribly and have since adopted a puppy in May 2023, so when Bella's time comes we will not be facing the next loss so soon. However, because Bella doesn't have the energy she used to, our younger pup, Lucy -- an American Bulldog, could use an occasional playmate. I thought that since we have needed people to care for our dogs when we are away, we could try hosting someone else's dog, and it could be a win-win situation for both of us. I do work full time and have a varied schedule. Since I am trying this for the first time, I will open up a few blocks on my schedule when I know I have a few days at a time available, so I can provide lots of supervised time with our fur babies. Lucy is a sweet, gentle, goofy, cuddly girl. She loves to bounce and tug and play, and Bella is not always up to her antics! We have a fenced in back yard, where the dogs can run and play outside. We live near the VCA East clinic in NE Anchorage. Our home is calm and peaceful, as it's just us two empty nesters and our dogs now. We have an oversized dog bed with plenty of extra room and a fireplace -- a popular spot to warm up after being outside. I do have many houseplants, so I'd need to know if your pup might have an interest in those. I am a nurse by profession and am experienced at giving medication and am willing to keep a dog who may need special care.

“Alex understands and relishes in the joy of caring for dogs and cats. She knows the importance of being firm and consistent with praise. Alex is active, strong, and reliable. I trusted Alex fully with my old dog when I traveled. I would gladly invite her into my home to house sit and know that my pets would be cuddled and carefully cared for.”
