About: From a young age, I’ve been responsible for caring for animals of many kinds, from hamsters to horses, with dogs always being a big part of my life. This experience has made me attentive, patient, and dependable when caring for dogs. I’m comfortable following routines, reading basic behavior cues, and providing consistent, loving care. I treat every dog as my own and always prioritize their safety, comfort, and happiness. I am a full time student during the week and also have a part time job, however I am available for drop in visits during the week, except for Tuesday's after 12:00pm. I can visit up to two times per day per household. My schedule allows me to drop in early in the morning before school and then stop by later in the evenings. I am also available for overnight stays full time. Tuesday’s have a little bit of conflict for, I am at school from 12:00pm to 7:00pm. If an overnight stay goes through a Tuesday someone would need to let your pet out during those hours if necessary I keep each dog’s routine as consistent as possible by closely following feeding, walking, and care instructions. Whether in my home or a client’s, I provide a safe, calm environment with plenty of attention and supervision. I respect my clients’ homes and make sure their dogs feel comfortable, secure, and well cared for at all times.
“I just started working with Jocylyn and have had to do a lot of rearranging of our schedule. She has been so great about it. My dogs loved her and I know we will be working with her again!!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs for as long as I can remember. My own dogs, my neighbors have asked me to drop in while they were on vacation, and my parents friends have had me dog and house sit while they were away. I take the time to get to know what the pets need instead of taking a one size fits all approach. I’m available all week, whatever time. I’m not working any other jobs so I’m available whenever pets need it or pet parents want an extra check in or reassurance. I make sure they’re comfortable, whether that’s in a crate or just on a bed, constantly check their food and water, and make sure they’re good and tired before I stop playing with them.

“It was such a pleasure meeting Stacie, and getting to know her a little, along with hearing about her own love of animals! I so appreciated the photos she sent since my two cats are new to each other and she was totally thorough in caring for them!”

About: I have a Bachelor's degree in Zoology, and Associates degree in Science and have cared for other peoples pets since I was 17 (August, 3 2026 I'll be 22) besides caring for my parents dogs and cats. I have expireance with special care needs like diabetic pets who need to be given insulin shots, elderly dogs with oral pills they would rather not take, and bouncing puppies who need to let out alot of energy. I also have owned many animals since I was little with minimal parental help. These animals include dogs, cats, snakes, mice, rats, fish, birds, spiders, and frogs. I have experience in highschool vet care and college lab and field experience in herpetology, ornithology, and ictheology. Your fur babies will love spending their time with me when you can't be there. I just graduated college and would love to make money doing somthing I'm good at; careing for animals. Since I just graduated and don't have another job currently I'm free at most times and would love to be of service to you. I will give my undivided attention to make sure your animal is happy and well cared for. I can take your dog to the dog park, and if you want I can bring my dog over for them to play. Dog/cat's needs and feed schedules can be precise. When I was caring for my aunts Diabetic cat I had to feed half of a 1/4 cup give him his insulin shot then feed the other half, this had to happen at 6am and 6pm exactly. The shot had to go into his opposite hip every time (left morning, right afternoon). I hope to offer your pet similarly the best care imaginable.
“Emily was so helpful and attentive to Gunters needs! I loved getting updates daily, she took the sweetest pictures of my kitty. Towards the end of my trip, Gunter unfortunately contracted a uti. Thanks to Emily texting me and keeping me updated, I was able to book a vet appointment for as soon as I could so that he could get treated. I could not recommend her more!”

“Victoria was wonderful! We met her prior to starting her drop in visits and she familiarized herself with walk procedures. Every day I received an update on her visit along with pictures of our happy doggos which made going away easier on my guilt. We came home to two happy pups.”
About: Hey there!! I've been around pets my whole life and absolutely LOVE them. We had a dog (dachshund) growing up as well as other animals like Rabbits and Guinea Pigs! I've had cats and dogs throughout my life as well. My bestie dog was named Sadie (corgi/husky mix) who was 17 when I had to let her go to the rainbow bridge March 2021...it was the hardest thing I've ever had to do 💔 I had her since she was about 1 yr old. She had a pacemaker put in about 2 yrs prior to passing and had a great life but I miss her like crazy. I've been Petsitting a long time but over the passed couple of years it's really helped heal my heart and has truly been a blessing. Most of my clients are from word of mouth over the years but I have this to help others get in touch with me if they need some help! I live in Lake Toxaway but I have jobs anywhere from Highlands, Trillium, Cullowhee, Cashiers, Sapphire, Lake Toxaway to Brevard. I mostly stay at my client's homes but I do bring some dogs to my house if it ends up being a better option. I've done puppy care and senior care as well so that doesn't phase me. I also can do medication or treatments needed. If I'm booked up for in home pet care then I can do drop ins 2x a day for cats 🐱 I can possibly offer that for dogs too but they usually need it 3x a day. So that would all depend on my availability. I work part time caretaking properties/cleaning, and childcare so I'm mostly home! When I do need to leave I'm not gone more then 3-6 hrs, depending on the job. I can travel further if I can move jobs around in my area. I'm very flexible and try to make things work if I can! I currently don’t have a fenced in yard but I will walk around my neighborhood and have a decent sized backyard. I treat your babies like they're my own so they get lots of lovin. Sometimes we go to the State Park too! If they like car rides I'll take them to check my mail or little errands.
About: Hi! My name is Ella, and I’ve had a passion for animals for as long as I can remember. I’ll be starting veterinary school in August 2026 and have worked in veterinary medicine for the past five years in a variety of clinical and shelter settings. I have experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages, temperaments, and medical needs, and I’m comfortable administering medications if needed. My goal is always to make pets feel safe, loved, and comfortable while giving owners peace of mind that their pets are in good hands. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! As an incoming veterinary student, I’m very used to maintaining a structured routine and planning my schedule carefully around animal care. Between my experience in veterinary medicine, caring for my own pets, and fostering both dogs and kittens, providing consistent care for animals is already a part of my everyday life. I’m comfortable keeping up with feeding schedules, medications, walks, playtime, and giving pets the attention and care they need while you’re away. I always try to keep pets as comfortable and stress-free as possible by following their normal routine closely. In a client’s home, I make sure pets stay on their regular feeding, potty, walk, play, and medication schedules while also giving them plenty of attention and companionship. In my own home, I provide a calm, clean, and safe environment where pets are closely supervised and treated like family. I also understand how important updates are, so I’m happy to send pictures and check-ins while you’re away.
“Jesse does a great job of keeping the animals on schedule and I was so relaxed all day knowing he was coming by to check on them twice while we were at a ball game in Athens.”

About: I have over 10 years of experience caring for dogs, cats, and small pets. I have an undying passion and love for animals of all ages, shapes, and sizes. I would call myself a ‘dog whisperer.’ All of my friends find it amazing that I love dogs as much as I do.Being that I also may have a bit of OCD when it comes to cleanliness— your home will not only be cared for but will be spotless upon your return! If there are plants in the home as well, I can also make sure that those get watered and cared for as needed. It’s an understatement to say I am attentive to detail. I am currently a full time student at Clemson University with a hybrid schedule and am available(flexible) on Mondays and Wednesdays for drop in visits and dog walking. I live in a house with a fully fenced in backyard. I can host no more than 2 other dogs at a time. Myself and my partner own 2 dogs. An incredibly sweet and gently Doberman and a spunky Chiweenie!
“Lillie was great! She was communicative and punctual. She offered to do a meet and greet before our booking and the dogs loved her. She showed love, knowledge and professionalism. I am and have already booked her for more visits and an overnight. She has quickly become my regular and reliable sitter as I am new to the area and was in need. Thank you Lillie!”

About: I've taken care of dogs of every kind since I was 10. Neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me to walk, feed, and bathe their pets, and I truly love every moment of it. I'm comfortable with dogs of all sizes and ages, including seniors and energetic puppies. I always focus on keeping pets happy, safe, and comfortable, whether it's for daily walks, playtime, or overnight stays. You can count on me to treat your pet like my own! As a college student, my schedule is flexible between classes. I can do late mornings, midday check-ins, and early evenings, with open weekends for extended care or overnights. Your pet's routine comes first. I care for pets in their own homes so they can stay in a familiar and comfortable environment. I always follow your instructions carefully and keep your pet's routine consistent. Whether it's walks, playtime, or feeding, I make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and loved while you're away.
“We were really pleased with her communication and care for our dog and would absolutely choose her again. Our dog seemed perfectly content when we returned home. She was very professional and listened to our requests.”

About: I had pets as a child. As an adult we became a dog family 10 years ago. He’s stubborn and way smarter than I am. I’ve learned so much loving on our Smitty. I’m patient and love to see their personalities shine. I work from home so I have a pretty flexible schedule. I would be happy to discuss your personal needs and work that into my day. I walk my dogs on leash on our property. For you I’d do what your pet is accustomed to. I’m very flexible and able to work with what works for you best.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mountain Rest. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
