About: Hey there! My name is Annika, and I’m so excited to take your furry friend for a walk in STL. I’m originally from IL, where my family has had cats and dogs. Hey there! As far as overall care experience with animals, I’ve worked with dogs, cats, horses, and even a turtle (long story) since I was a kid. On the official dog walking front, I have 3 years of experience completing 360+ dog walks and sitting services through the Wag Walker app. I have also just passed my 2-year anniversary of weekly volunteering at a local cat shelter, Tenth Life Cat Rescue. I've found a way to get along with every personality I've come across, picked up tricks and tools for making sure pets are eating their meals and drinking their water, and cleaned up the most stomach-turning of messes. I'm sure your pet and I will be fast friends, but even if that's not the case and they'd rather hide under the bed the whole time, I will make sure your pet is safe and thoroughly cared for (and we can just be friends in spirit 🥲). My most open blocks of time to provide pet care are in the mornings and afternoons on weekdays, and I can also make my weekends available for care when given enough advance notice. Fridays are the one day each week where I have very limited availability during the day: these are my cat and horse rescue volunteer days. That being said, I can be available starting on Friday evenings for weekend settings, if given enough advance notice. For sittings, I generally stick to services within a 15 mi. radius of my neighborhood, Tower Grove South. This ensures I am a quick drive away from your home in case I need to get over there quickly, and it allows me to periodically check in on my own cats back at home. I'm open to either just dropping by 2-4 times a day to fulfill your pet's needs, or I can stay overnight at your home - whatever is preferred to make sure your pet is cared for and is kept to their routine. I do not offer boarding services. Overall, I believe in over communication and do not make assumptions. If I need clarification on your instructions or if an issue comes up during the service, I will reach out to you immediately. I keep my phone handy for texts and calls from you throughout the service, and will also regularly send photos and videos of your pet. I do not give pets treats unless explicitly instructed to do so. In those approved situations, I will only feed them kinds of treats that you provide. I do this being cognizant of different dietary sensitivities a pet may have and, again, not making any assumptions. Before starting a sitting service, I ideally want a chance to talk with you over the phone at minimum and get a sense of your pet's needs, preferences, triggers, etc., directly. If your pet understandably prefers to stay hidden during my sitting visits, I respect that. I will still look for them just to ensure they are okay. For walks, I do not take dogs to a dog park and/or let them off leash at any point. Even if your dog is completely trained, I don't trust other people with their dogs and will not risk putting your dog in danger. And even while on leash, I am overly cautious about interactions with other dogs and will generally steer away from other dogs in passing.

About: I've had 2 shih tzus (who recently both passed away at almost 16 years old), so I love small dogs (and any and all sweet pups!) I also have a calico cat, who is very sweet. Any pet who stays with us should be cat-tolerant, and also they should be OK with kids. I also have 2 kids (a 7 year old and toddler) who love animals. Please, no aggressive animals, as we do not have experience. House trained pets, please. I work from home, and I am almost always home, except for errands, to take my kids to extra circular classes. We are never out of the house for more than a few hours at a time. I have a fenced backyard, but there are steps to go down it. Pets can roam freely at the house. We can also crate your pet if they are more comfortable sleeping in the crate. But they are free to jump on couches, beds, and furniture. We have baby gates to keep pets out of unsafe areas.

I work from home, so I have plenty of time for walks, belly rubs, playtime, and keeping your furry friends company while you’re away! I am located in The Grove with access to a dog park at my apartment complex as well as walking distance to both Forest Park & Tower Grove Park for pups that enjoy long walks. One of my dogs loves people and dislikes other dogs, while the other one enjoys dogs and is wary of people so I have experience with a variety of dog personalities and their differing needs. Whether your pet is a professional cuddler, an energetic adventurer, or simply here for the treats, I’d love to spoil them ◡̈ Since I work from home while finishing my PhD dissertation, pet care fits pretty naturally into my daily routine. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to take plenty of breaks throughout the day for walks, playtime, and potty breaks. 🐾 My schedule is much more “read a paper, take a dog for a walk, write a paragraph, give belly rubs” than a traditional 9-to-5. I can easily adapt to the schedule of your pup! I’m happy to build pet care into my day and give your pets plenty of attention rather than leaving them alone for long stretches. Having a furry coworker around is honestly a pretty great dissertation-writing perk! 😂 Your pet’s safety and comfort always come first. Whether I’m caring for your pet in my home or theirs, I take the time to learn their routine, personality, and any special instructions so they can feel comfortable and relaxed. I always keep a close eye on pets during walks and playtime. Since I work from home, I’m able to provide plenty of supervision and companionship throughout the day. About: I’ve been caring for dogs for most of my life and am comfortable with dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities. I’m a dog owner myself, to a 3yo and a 14yo beagle mix, so I understand how important it is to have someone you can trust caring for your pets when you can’t be there. I’m happy to provide walks, potty breaks, feeding, playtime, basic medications when needed, and plenty of attention and affection. I’m also comfortable with large dogs and small and understand that different dogs have very different energy levels and needs. I’ll follow your instructions closely and make sure your dog gets the individual care and attention they’re used to. I work from home, which gives me flexibility to fit walks and drop-in visits into my daily routine. I’m available throughout the week and can often accommodate morning, daytime, and evening visits. Might suggest to check beforehand with the client how often they would like photos. I was cruising and did not always have access to internet/texts/calls.
