“Mary was the perfect match for our elderly dog: she is patient and caring. Mary has her home and yard set up for every dog's optimal comfort, which we especially appreciated since our dog has arthritis. Ella, our 15 year-old papillon, loved her!”

“Maytte is a gem! We have two very shy dogs and weren’t sure how they would do staying with a new person. They loved her and warmed up to her at the meet and greet we set up. It made going away much easier. Maytte sent updates every day, with pictures and videos of the dogs. We could tell they were loved and well cared for. Maytte went above and beyond, buying them each a harness for walks and new toys. We’ve already booked her for our next trip.”

“Yakelin is a miracle worker! She was not only available last minute, but was expertly qualified to handle our 2 husky puppies! The most impressive part is that they came back even more well behaved than when we dropped them off! I wish I could leave 100 stars!!!”

“Lindsey was amazing with my dog, Teddy! He had such a great time on her farm — it truly felt like a little vacation for him. She took wonderful care of him and kept me updated with fantastic photos and detailed messages about how he was doing. I really appreciated the communication and felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands. I would happily recommend Lindsey to anyone and will definitely book with her again in the future!”

“Donna is fantastic! She took such good care of my Australian cattle dog over the holidays. He had a hurt paw which needed to be cleaned constantly and administered medication twice a day. She was great with him. Kept up with cleanings and meds. She will be my first choice whenever I need someone to watch my boy! Thank you so much Donna and Tom! I so appreciate all that you did to take care of him and keep me updated each day!”

“My dogs stayed with Bonnie for 2 nights. She was extremely responsive and took good care of my pups! She was also flexible with my changing itinerary. So grateful to have found her!”

“Nina was a lifesaver! She was able to schedule a meet and greet, and book our dog for the weekend with short notice. She was very communicative. We received updates, and pictures, which was so appreciated. Our dog seemed very content during his stay with Nina. We are looking forward to using her again!”

“Charlie came back happy and healthy! Susan kept us well updated without needing to prompt, which was much appreciated while we were tied up on vacation it was nice to see he was being well cared for.”
“My Bella and I absolutely love Kimberly. It is so comforting that when we get to Kimberly's, Bella runs over and goes right into her home. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a fenced-in yard where dogs can safely play and get some exercise, and I’ll always supervise outdoor time. “Ginnie watched our puppy Woody for a full weekend. We were very confident after meeting her that he would be in great hands and we were right. I would not hesitate to use her services again!”

“Gus had the absolute best week ever! Debbie was fully active with him and communication was above and beyond. It was like summer camp for pups, in all the very greatest ways. Swimming, running, snuggling and hanging with some new besties! I was more than pleased with his care. I usually travel with Gus, but this was a week he couldn't come and it was even better for him. 10/10!”

“Amanda was amazing! She came to the rescue when our sitter had to cancel, last minute. Amanda provided updates, with pictures, which was great. We immediately felt comfortable and knew our dog was in great hands. We joked that he probably didn’t want to come home. We will absolutely be using Amanda again. She was a joy to work with!”

“Chelsea was absolutely amazing with Auggy! She took such great care of him and truly treated him like her own. We loved all the detailed updates and photos she sent — it gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was clear she spent lots of time playing with him and making sure he felt loved and comfortable.”

“Brent is chill, very accommodating, and has an excellent setup for boarding. My dogs were quite content when I came to pic them up. Their demeanor spoke volumes about his professional skills.”

“Elizabeth did awesome with our nervous dog. Before booking, she suggested a "trial run" which was great. We had our dog Ozzie stay with her for a weekend and he was very happy when we picked him up, obviously well cared for, and she sent pics while we were gone, too! We plan on working with Elizabeth again when we need another dog sitter. Thank you, Elizabeth!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Mottville home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Mottville.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Mottville sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
