Leaving our sweet boy behind has never been as comforting and low stress as it was with having Jason watch him for us. Knowing Colt was having a great time and in a loving home while we were out of town means the world to us! We came back to a safe and happy boy. We are so grateful!!

I just want to say thank you so much for taking care of my sweet boy. This was my first time ever doing something like this, (my baby is 10yrs old) leaving him with a stranger was very hard with to do. But Klairi after meeting you, I will book again! Thank you for making him feel like he was on vacation for the week. ESPECIALLY during the holidays was a true blessing! All the photos and great communication was a huge part in easing my mind throughout the time he was there. A message to everyone looking for a sitter I really recommend Klairi for your future booking. Thank you again!

About: I’ve taken care of multiple animals throughout my life, such as dogs, cats, lizards, snakes, ducks, and chickens. I’m very reliable and will make sure to follow directions on how you want your animal taken care of. I am currently a student and have a part time job, but I also have a lot of free time on my hands making this type of job perfect for me. I grew up around cats and dogs growing up and care deeply for animals. For animals I board I like to do a meet and greet to let your animal get to know an unfamiliar place with you there. For dog sitting I like to do a meet and greet at the house or a nearby park to get to know your pet and so that I’m not a stranger to them when hanging with them.

Joseph and Destiny plus their pups were awesome! Friendly and took extra special care of our, not always perfectly behaved, fur baby! I will definitely be asking them to care for our pet again.

Chasity was the BEST! Not only did she take great care of our best girl, she sent me frequent updates and pictures. This eliminated SO MUCH of my stress. We were already traveling with a baby(which can be a little nuts), and not having to stress about our pup took a huge chunk off my plate. I can’t thank Chasity enough for giving me some peace of mind. I absolutely hope to have our Bonnie girl back to see Chasity and her family for our next trip.

Sarah is amazing!!! I contacted her a few days before Christmas for an immediate spot and she responded immediately. I took Coby over and she spent time with us to make sure Coby would be a good fit with her pets. She sent pictures and updates regularly. Coby was very well cared for and would have been happy to stay a few more days! Thank you Sarah!!!

It’s a comfort for me when my dog, Zeke, is in Sandy’s care. When I’m away I can focus on what I need to do and I don’t worry about Zeke at all. I’m very grateful for Sandy’s loving care of my little dog. She’s a very wonderful and kind person.

About: With a lifelong love for animals and years of hands-on experience, I’m here to give your pet the same care and attention I’d give my own. I started pet sitting and dog walking back in middle school and never stopped—it’s truly a passion of mine! I’m patient, active, and committed to making sure your pet feels safe, loved, and happy while you’re away. My dog, who passed away a few years back, was a trained service animal and the sweetest boy. Whether your pet is shy or full of energy, I’m here to meet them where they are and make them feel right at home. I am self employed and work from home with a flexible schedule so I have time to dedicate to your pups and kitties! I can typically accommodate last minute bookings. As stated prior, my dog (who has now passed) was a service dog and went through safety training. I learned a lot throughout that course about pet handling and care. I am active and fit and can work with with animals from the smallest of kittens to the largest of pups!

About: Hello! I’m Brooke! I absolutely love dogs (& all animals really)! I have my own dog, Puck, who I love to take to the lake, on walks and cuddle with. I have been dog sitting for 10 years and I love it. I currently do travel healthcare and I’m looking for a job on the side with my boyfriend’s help too. I can do walks, home visits, overnight sitting in your home and anything else you’d need for your furry friend. I can work with you and your schedule to try to find the perfect time to help out you and your pet. I look forward to hearing from you soon! Don’t hesitate to ask any questions to see if I’m a good fit! I work full time during the week but am free most weekends. My boyfriend also helps out and is an early bird who can do drop ins before 7am and after 5 pm. I have a patio that the dogs can sun bath on and a huge h fenced yard to let the pups run around to get some energy out.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Morehead City home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Morehead City.

You and your Morehead City sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
