About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I can remember and absolutely love it! Friends, family, and neighbors have always trusted me to walk, feed, and play with their pups. I treat every dog like my own! I am currently an enrolled college student, but I have tons of free time to take care of your babies! A lot of my work is done online and will take up any opportunity. I also am enlisted in the Air Force National Guard and the first weekend of every month I will be occupied with drill! My dog, a german short-haired pointer named “Finn”, is always taken care of to the fullest! Fulfilling meals and lots of play time, and of course just time for cuddling and chilling out.
“Alyssa came over to meet our animals and also met our kids. She immediately clicked with everyone. Our son loved her as much as our dog did haha. She spent a lot of time with our dog nova and also gave our cat all the cuddles. Our dog has some history of anxiety and can be very hesitant with new people but she was very welcoming to Alyssa. We appreciate the time she spent with our animals while we were away. Will definitely book again!”

“Sophia was absolutely wonderful! She stayed in our home with our 2 dogs and 1 cat while we were away for 10 days. She is dependable, responsible and trustworthy, she was also very easy going with all of our pets wants and needs. She sent us updates and photos regularly and was quick to respond to our messages we sent to her. Our cat and dogs were well taken care of and so very happy while we were gone. Our home was also very well taken care of, she collected our mail and took out the trash. We will be using Sophia again in the future for drop ins and in home stays.”

About: Good on you, friend! You want more than a cold cage for your pup. And you want a family to treat your pup with genuine care and affection when you cannot take her or him with you. So, thank you for your interest in our dog boarding services. As we live in Hagerstown, we offer free shuttle service for our clients along the I-270 corridor—Bethesda, North Bethesda, Rockville, Gaithersburg, Germantown, Urbana, and Frederick. Our clients are very welcomed to pick-up and drop-off at our home if their plans take them through Hagerstown. We're excited to be in our sixth year with Rover! During this time, we developed wonderful and continuing relationships with many of our repeat guests and their parents. Find out for yourself why our clients trust us with their precious furry ones and refer to the Lounge as their dogs' "vacation home"...their dogs' "home away from home"...their dogs’ "second home/family". Many of our guests seem to develop friendships among themselves as they often encounter one another at the Lounge. We also understand that a few of our guests' parents have become familiar with one another and occasionally meet at dog parks for playdates. You are welcomed to apply promo code WARDOL86713 to save $20 if you are new to Rover. If our calendar shows we are unavailable, please don’t hesitate to message us just to be sure…we may be able to squeeze you in🐾🐾 Our flexible schedules allow us to be home when your pet is trusted to our care. Plus, our teenager has a very light after school/summer activities and sports schedule. Together, we are committed to care for our guests just as if they were members of our own family. This includes taking your pooch with us when we need to be away from our home, if that is acceptable to you. We’ll send lots of messages with pics and clips that keep you in touch. And you can call us anytime through our Rover phone number if you ever need to discuss a particular matter. We have a spare room with open beds, large crates, and collapsible kennels are available if required/requested. Please remember to pack your dog’s favorite food, treats, toys, blanket, etc., to make their stay more comfortable. We provide the dog beds, bowls, and potty pads and bags, so there's no need for you to worry about any of that.
“Halee is wonderful! She is communicative and detail oriented. Both the pups and our house were well cared for while we were away, plus she even kept an eye out for our chickens. We’ll definitely book her again!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs ever since I was a kid, and I have experience with taking care of many different breeds, young and old. I love animals and will do everything I can to make yours comfortable and happy. Work is currently slow, so I have the time to give your pets all the attention they need. I am available anytime throughout the week and most weekends. I have two friendly dogs that would love to keep yours company. I do not have a fenced yard, but walk them on my private lane often, and take them to the dog park. My pets get fed twice a day, but I can feed yours as often as you’d like - they also have some treat throughout the day.
“Matthew is a wonderful pet sitter. He is friendly, easy-going, respectful and considerate of your pets’ needs and any worries. Matthew did everything we asked to take the best care of our cat. We will definitely use him again!”

“Isabel was OUTSTANDING as my overnight sitter. My two pups absolutely adore her and she went above and beyond in taking care of them while I was away on vacation. I would highly recommend her if you need a pet sitter, she is simply the BEST!”

About: I have had animals all of my life, dogs, cats, birds, rats, guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits, and have taken care of goats, chickens, and more! I fostered around 20 dogs total for two years and a few years ago I started a business for myself in my neighborhood where I charged daily for watching peoples pets of all kind and within those years I have watched and cared for about 30 different animals :) I am unemployed right now and am looking to fill my time the best way, with animals! I do participate in theatre, such as acting and volunteering, so when I'm involved in a show my hours will differ, but i'm super flexible! I am not able to provide at home services at the moment since I live in a place that does not allow pets right onlw, but I have had two dogs of my own at my moms house as well as 3 cats. One of those being my own cat who I had to leave with her when I moved. I plan on one day saving enough money and moving out so we can live together again! I would care for your pet in your home exactly as I would treat mine, with restrictions or more based off of your preferences! At my moms house, the pets are allowed on furniture, have a routine for going outside and being fed, and are free roam in the house when away. However if they are crate trained, need exercise/play, or extra/less care, I will do just as you have instructed

“Taylor was a last minute lifesaver because I accidentally booked the wrong dates with our regular in home dog sitter. Outside of this, Taylor did an awesome job with our three rambunctious dogs, sent updates with pictures and even vacuumed before she left. We can’t wait to rebook with Taylor!”

FAQs for House Sitting - Mont Alto
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 577 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Mont Alto. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mont Alto walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mont Alto maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mont Alto choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
