“Lauren was awesome on drop in visits and walks for us. Great communicator who let us know about a plumbing issue that arose while we were gone. We were very happy we booked again with her.”

“Eleanor went above and beyond, retrieving an important piece of mail that arrived while we were away. And our pup was well taken care of, as usual!”

“Mary is an absolutely wonderful pet sitter! She provided exceptional, top-tier service and was incredibly caring and responsible with our cat. It gave us total peace of mind knowing she was in such capable, loving hands. She is professional, trustworthy, and goes above and beyond. Highly, highly recommended!”

“Tara did a great job checking in on my cat, Charlie. She showed up when she said she would, provided summaries of her visits, and included several pictures with every visit. She also mixed my cat’s medicine in with his food as instructed and left all the containers rinsed and stacked neatly in the sink. I would definitely book with her again in the future.”

“Donai was exceptional! I knew when she came to meet Alice and Hank and she got on the floor to meet them, and asked for some treats to win them over, that she had already won over my approval. She gave me daily updates and daily pictures. It made me so happy on my trip to both see them, and also see that they were being well cared for and loved. Would definitely book Donai again!!”

“Taylor was awesome with my cat on our first long trip away from her! She was super responsive and gave plenty of updates. Came home to a happy kitty, thank you!”

“Heather was awesome! Our cat loved her and she spent a lot of time with her and she really built a relationship with her in a short amount of time. Would highly recommend!!!”
“Desiree was approachable, kind hearted, responsive, and accountable. I could tell she wanted to care for my dog to the best of her abilities by the questions she asked. She wanted to not just care for my pet, but be respectful of my home. Highly recommend!”

“Alan was excellent with my cat's and provided great communication! Rory is usually very shy and won't come out for anybody but he was able to coax him out and give him some pets! 🥰”

“Bayley did a great job with all 3 of our dogs! She came over in the morning for breakfast; as we needed help because our reg dog-sitter's schedule changed. She jumped right in and was very flexible! Def will use Bayley again!!”

“This is my 5th or 6th time using Liz. Every time she sends good pictures and her communication is great! Fast responses, clear pictures and happy dogs every time. I don’t recommend giving short notices if you don’t have to but my job is last minute demanding and she’s been the best at responding last minute.”

“Billy was awesome. My cat was in good hands while I was away—never had to worry. Lots of updates. He stayed a little longer to make sure she was comfortable with him. I would book with him again in a heartbeat.”

“Missy was wonderful! This was my first Rover experience and I was very nervous with my cats needing medication twice daily but Missy was on time and great with communicating. I really appreciated the cute pictures she sent with each visit and I would definitely schedule with her again!”

About: I've always loved spending time with animals. I adopted my first cat in college, and finally got to live with a dog after college in Germany, for my first nannying job with a toddler and a Golden Retriever. Whether with my own animals or those of family or friends, I always love playing, petting, walking (when applicable), brushing, and cuddling! Due to my work schedule through the years, I've had mostly cats in my own homes, and therefore have more experience dealing with cats who are senior or medically fragile than with dogs who have special needs. For decades, I have also taught humans, from kindergarten age through adult, and understand how important it is to be responsible and reliable, and to follow instructions. Each situation or animal may require specific or special care, and I am happily willing to take that on. I love all animals, whether small or big! If you do have an aggressive and huge/heavyweight dog that needs a big, bulky person to restrain it, I may not be your best fit, as I'm 5'5" and not competing in bodybuilding in this lifetime. Otherwise, hopefully I'll get to meet your fur family soon! I am currently working part-time and have some flexibility in my schedule. I can be available on weekends and probably at least a couple of days during the weekday for multiple visits during the day. If you need only 1 or 2 visits per day, I might be available most if not all days of the week. My previous full-time job was teaching high school, and I more recently nannied for young children with two large dogs and a cat in a rural area. I understand the need for responsible and reliable care, along with prioritizing safety and well-being. I will follow your instructions and will be happy to send photos and updates and be in communication in whatever way you prefer.
“Very happy with Breanna's drop in visits! She sent lots of pictures and detailed updates. The house was very clean even where my cats eat and love making a mess. Will definitely request future visits with her!”

“Nick went above and beyond while watching our two pups while we were out of town!! They’ve never been so comfortable with a sitter before. Communication was fabulous and he always took the time to send detailed updates and pictures. I would 100% recommend!”

About: I am a big animal lover! I am a dog groomer! I also worked as a doggy daycare and boarding attendant before becoming one! I have certifications for borading/daycare as well as prior working experience in a veterinary clinic! I just want to give love to your babies as if they are my own! I work consistently! I perfer to stay at my own home but when house sitting will stop by multiple times a day for a good amount of time each drop by! i also have my own dogs and cats which are very much an important part of my life so i must also care for them! I understand the importance of cleaning and making sure the pets are in a clean, safe environment! i will play with the animals and even take them on car rides to get a occasional pup cup if it is okay with parents! I also will give baths if needed for your animals! i will treat your pet as i would want my pet to be treated!

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Mockingbird Valley
Valorie was an excellent cat sitter! Very communicative and friendly, my older cat is very timid but he came out on the first visit! And my younger cat may prefer her now based off of the photos of him following her around! So pleased with how much affection they got while I was away! She did everything I asked and more, taking out the trash and cleaning a bit! Tons of photos and updates, will absolutely be booking her again!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mockingbird Valley. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
