“Nahomy is great!! This is our 2nd time booking her to take care of our dog while we’re away. She’s so sweet and caring. We will be hiring her again and again! Thank you so much, Nahomy!!”

“Kimberly did wonderful with my anxious dog. She communicated very well. I have had a hard time finding a good sitter and I am so happy to have found Kimberly! Highly recommend!”

“Tara was great with my two pups and kitty. You could tell right away that they were all going to like Tara. My dogs are not at all use to staying home when I go out of town, so I was a bit worried about how they would act, but Tara came by and loved on them twice a day and they survived my four days away (probably better than I did!). Highly recommend Tara to care for your pets.”

“Sara was wonderful watching my cats while I was away. She was very attentive and detailed in her updates and my babies loved her!! Definitely book her if you want someone you know is gonna take good care of your pets while you are away”

“Denyse did an amazing job taking care of my cat and home while I was away for just under 2 weeks. Went above and beyond with extra needs like coming back for a package that got delivered on a rainy day. This was also during the holidays and she is very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend her to anyone needing a sitter. Got pictures and updates with every visit of a happy fur baby”

About: I have 8 years of experience with caring for animals and have been volunteering/ owning pets of my own since I was young! I understand that your pets are your family member and am willing to accommodate to their every need. In the past I have walked dogs of all sizes, with and without pulling issues. I also have house sat for multiple people and can provide references upon request. I am a very active person and have no problem going on multiple walks/ play dates a day. I have experience with both young and older animals, and also some knowledge in regards to animal first aid as well. Each day, I take the time to walk/ play/ adventure with my dog, Raider. We would love to have your animal tag along with us!! :) I enjoy all types of physical activity, especially hiking! I would love to play, bathe, and simply hang out with your animals! Whether your dog is high energy or a couch potato, I can match their needs!
“Thanks to Sofia for watching our babies! They really loved her! Sofia was prompt and courteous. She communicated throughout the entire process and I definitely recommend her to anyone who needs a dog sitter or have someone drop by to check on them! Thank you Sofia!!”

About: I have three cats and a recent rescue dog. I have experience socializing dogs and cats including recent rescues/terrified animals. I have sat for animals of all ages and administered medications effectively to both dogs and cats. In addition to dogs and cats I can also take care of reptiles, arthropods, and small mammals. My parents have a 14-year-old dog that requires daily medication, eye drops, and mobility aide and I frequently care for him so you can rest assured that I can care for seniors! I also have experience with heartworm positive pups that are in treatment, as my girl just went through it herself. I have one class every morning but after that I just have to write for work so I can work from anywhere. Weekends I am completely free unless otherwise noted. The cats are fed twice a day (1/2 can of wet food per meal) and the litter boxes are thoroughly scooped every day. Enrichment through play, leash walks, and playing with each other depending on the cat's preferences. The dog is a pit/lab mix and is fed twice a day (1 cup per meal) and is walked at least 4 times per day or whenever she needs to go out. Enrichment is provided through lick mats, puzzle toys, and regular toys. We work on training as often as possible.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Midland
Angel took great care of our cats, was very communicative, and went above and beyond the care instructions we left! She was very kind throughout our messaging and did great loving our cats in our absence! We’d definitely recommend and would love to book her again!

Miranda was prompt with communication and took care of our cat well after an initial delay from a conflict. Water bowl was dirty and litter box very full upon return but he was visited and fed well. Overall she helped Mike with his anxiety of the new person in the house and as a first time Rover user I was grateful.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
