“Abner was terrific! He took care of Scout while we went on a family vacation. He sent lots of photos, gave Scout a fantastic experience and was flexible to help with our schedule of dropoff and pickup. Thank you!”

“Hannelie took excellent care of jax and took him for walks everyday and sent updates of how he was doing. Would definitely recommend as a matter of fact she is taking care of jax again.”

“Chris has been awesome with Annie during her stay. Annie got along with Chris and his dog Bunker really well. Excellent communication, too. My husband and would definitely rebook with Chris!”

“Bodhi loved staying with Melissa and Angel! He was well taken care of and had a lot of fun with their son and the other dogs they were watching. I'd definitely reach out to them again to watch him.”

“Everything was seamless when dealing with Kyle. He communicated effectively and quickly. Our senior dog was at home following Kyle around. Kyle’s oldest son was fond of our dog. Both men were super nice and chatted with us for a bit when we picked up our boy. We will be calling back in the future for them to watch our dog again!”

“I have been so impressed with Natalie - she is truly an animal lover and took care of my chai like her own. Shes took him for walks, gave him treats, played with him, sent me pictures and updates along the way - I felt so comforted leaving him with her. She’s truly amazing!”

“Kathy and Vivian took amazing care of our dog, Chloe, while we were away visiting family for over a week. They sent us photos every single day, which truly put us at ease, and communication was always smooth and thoughtful. When we picked Chloe up, she was so happy and clearly well‑loved. We highly recommend and we’ll definitely be booking with them again.”

“I was very pleased with the boarding service provided by Nina M. The pictures and videos were great and I felt very comfortable knowing Luna was being well taken care of. I would highly recommend this Rover sitter.”

“Scott was incredible with Mocha. My family was away on vacation when a huge storm washed away the local highway. Scott brought his family and our Mocha to safety until it was safe to return. I couldn't imagine what would have happened if she was in a kennel with 30 other dogs and that happened!! Scott also sent us pictures every day and we could see she was very relaxed and happy to be there. Thank You Scott!!”

“Debra was great when we had to leave Chance our cockapoo over our wedding weekend. She provided updates and pictures throughout the day which was great. Chance had a great time playing outside all day!”

“I had an amazing experience with Alaine as my dog sitter. She was highly responsive, providing daily photos and a detailed "report card" summarizing Brizo's activities and well-being during the four-night stay. Alaine took exceptional care of Brizo, and her own dog, Pasta, was a wonderful host too. I highly recommend Alaine for her attentiveness, communication, and genuine love for animals. Brizo can't wait to visit again soon!”

“Joe and his family took exceptional care of our two dogs! Communication was excellent from when we first reached out, through Apache and Loki's stay at their wonderful home. Joe's family was attentive to our dogs' needs, and made them feel right at home. They were great with sending pictures at various points throughout the day as well! 100% would book with this wonderful family again!”

About: Our property is a lush 5 acres. We have a fenced-in dog run, but we have lots of land for walks. We have two beautiful labradors: Abilene and Odessa (8 years old). They like having friends over to socialize and play. You can rest assured that we will treat your dog like one of our family. We love dogs, so care is easy! Our home is well suited for dog naps, daily walks, and midnight howls. My wife and I, as well as our two Labradors will give your dog a family to stay with while you are gone. Our home and property are large enough to support the individual needs of each dog. Two levels in our home and a large property allow us to facilitate special requests and routines.
“Our dog Toby was treated like family. You could tell from the constant pictures received that he was having a great time. This was our second time with Karina and we will be continuing to have our dog stay with her. She does a great job.”

“Polina was our first experience using Rover and we couldn't be happier. Our dog was safe with Polina and he was clearly treated as one of the family. We received multple pictures each day of him having a great time. She got creative when he wouldn't eat the first night. When we picked him up, her genuine affection for him was evident. We will definitely choose Polina to care for our teasured pet again.”

“Boo had a wonderful stay with Jillian and Andrew over Christmas. Really wished I could have taken Boo with us but was so happy that she was in the care of Jillian and Andrew. They updated us daily with photos and texts. Really nice people. Would absolutely recommend them to anyone!”

“Elaine was great with my pup Nugget. She sent daily pictures and updated me each evening about Nugget's day. It was wonderful to be able to enjoy my vacation knowing that my fur baby was in such good hands. Will definitely book Elaine again!”

“Jonathan is amazing. I dropped off my little guy here since he was close to our wedding venue and Jonathan took great care of him. Robin adjusted quickly and we felt at ease during our wedding knowing he was being well taken care of. Jonathan even dropped and picked up Robin so that he can attend our ceremony! Will be sure to book Jonathan again”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Middleville
Katie is very knowledgeable and sweet and her place is amazing! The dogs have a beautiful yard that is lit up at night and a very large clean room with a full size bed and couch. I had planned to board my dogs at a local kennel but after the "meet & greet" I knew this was a better option and all my worries about boarding disappeared. The updates and pictures were so helpful to alleviate any worry or anxiety I had when I left my pups. I was able to pick up my dogs late in the evening when I arrived home, rather than be confined to kennel business hours. While the dogs were very excited to see me, they did not try to bolt out of the gate; they went into their room and jumped back on the bed. I knew by this reaction they were not stressed by being there. One of my dogs is a little shy and was barking at Katie during the "meet & greet." Katie was able to pet her by the end of the stay and the barking had stopped. This is a great place and I definitely recommend it!
Sarah and Riley have been absolutely amazing with my mom's dog, Nandi! They welcomed her as their own immediately and have provided her with so much love and care, it has been such a relief to know she's there. My mom has been dealing with medical issues and Sarah and Riley have been so flexible and accommodating, I don't know what I would have done without them! If you want your creature to be well loved and treated like a family member, don't think twice about bringing them here!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Middleville home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Middleville.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Middleville sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
