“Korine was BEYOND amazing with my elderly and sick dog. I wish I could give her a million stars. She gave her all of her many daily medicines and walked her at her own (very slow lol) pace. I felt horrible leaving my girl but Korine kept me very comforted with constant check-in messages, pictures, and videos- it was almost as if I was still at home myself. My dog made a great friend in Korine and loved her company very much. 🥰 I could tell she was extremely and genuinely loved and cared for which put my mind and heart at ease being away from her. Thank you!!!”
“Aubrey was responsive and great with my cat for a quick weekend trip. She left detailed feedback after each visit and I was relieved he was left in such great care.”

“Very short notice, Elizabeth was able to come to my aid with my 2 dogs. She did everything exactly as she promised, and then some. My one dog was too afraid of her, which is not Elizabeth's fault, it was my woosie dog. She was great and I appreciate what she did for me.”

“So happy I downloaded this app and found Meghan! She did a great job taking care of our kitties and making us feel relaxed and worry free that they were in good hands while on vacation!! She gave very thorough updates and sent lots of pictures. What else can you ask for! ?”

“Rebecca took care of my cats over eight days while I was on vacation. She arrived promptly every day and took great care of them, feeding and cleaning the litter boxes. She sent daily photos and videos showing them at play. I am very happy with Rebecca and highly recommend her. I will use her again whenever I go away for an extended period of time. Thank You, Rebecca.”

“This is the first time Becky has watched Matija. She did such a wonderful job. Becky was very communicative and shared detailed reports. Can't wait to have her watch Matija again! Thanks, Becky!”

“Denise was amazing with our two pups while I was traveling - the updates were a bright spot in the days and I was able to relax knowing the dogs were so well cared for by Denise.”

“She is absolutely wonderful. My little girl came from a rescue and was very scared of everything. Vasumathy has a very calm demeanor and with her dog training background, got my dog to come around. Could not be happier with this sitter!”

About: I really like to meet animals where they are. If they are high energy and love to play then that is what we will be doing. If they are a lounge on the couch kind of dog then I will lay with them. I currently have one dog and I have been able to teach him many tricks like roll and high five! I also have 3 cats who keep me busy but in a good way! I have dog sat before many times but I am excited to meet new animals on Rover. I work full time on the weekdays from 7:45-4. I would also be able to be at your home for a few minutes during my lunch break depending on the location. I have full availability Friday night - Sunday night I always make sure that I am following their routine and doing things the way that you would do them! I will ask any questions if I have them to make sure I am doing everything right. The animals would never be able to escape as I am very careful with doors and I always wrap leashed around my wrist for a second layer of protection
“Samantha genuinely loves animals and it shows, she uses the ‘dog mom voice’, she gets down at my dog’s level to play, and is so careful about health quirks. I would recommend her to anyone with a pet looking for a sitter!”

“Christine is always a reliable and trustworthy sitter. She has taken care of my two cats several times over the last couple years, and I will continue to book with her whenever I am able!”

About: Ive had dogs and cats my entire life - big and small. I currently have 4 cats and love them more than anything. I also take care of several strays by our house and even a possum or two - I love to nurture and make animals feel safe and protected. I'll go above and beyond to take care of your beloved pets! I work remotely as a systems administrator for the last 5 years. Looking to make a little extra money by doing something that I love! Very flexible with my time and can help on short notice I understand that every pet is different and has unique needs! My one cat Merlin is on a special urinary care diet so I take tons of precautions to make sure he doesnt have access to my other cats food. Ill treat your pets health and safety as if they were my own!
“Dava visited my cat while I was away for awhile, and the first night I was back, the cat sat near the door for almost an hour around the time of the visits, presumably waiting for her. Dava kept her fed, watered, and in contact with other life, and sent a variety of photos.”

About: I have been walking/sitting dogs on Rover for five years. I took a year off during the first year of law school, but am hoping to get back into it now! I have had dogs all my life and miss having a furry friend around my apartment here in Carlisle. I have classes in the morning every day, but I have plenty of time in the afternoons to care for pets. I plan on spending my afternoons walking and hanging out with dogs, and I am willing to give the dogs the time and attention they need. When I walk your dog I’ll care for him or her like they’re my own. I am not just doing this for money, but I really do love animals and spending time with them. I have lived in Columbia for over a year, so I know the city and area well and will keep your furry friend safe.

Josie was amazing!! She cared for our pets(2 dogs and a cat) as they were her own! Her communication was excellent, sending us daily photos and texts. Josie even vacuumed before our return home so that our house looked great! I would highly recommend, we will use her again without hesitation!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Middlesex. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
