“Amy started visiting my senior labrador, Sam this week and has been wonderful. I had some anxiety about leaving my old guy alone while I started a new work project. I found Amy and all of my concerns have disappeared. I know that Sam is in good, pet-loving hands every day with Amy! I have nothing but good things to say! What a relief that she is able to care for ‘ole Sam. I am grateful for her professionalism.”

About: I grew up in a household with 7 dogs and I've been watching my neighbors and my family's pets for years. I also worked at a dog boarding facility for several years. I currently have two very high energy corgis but currently have a lot of time and love for more animals! I currently work remote so am very flexible with my hours to match your pets needs, weekdays and week ends. I am also able to accommodate last minute (even day/hour of) requests no problem if I have availability As I work from home I'm able to give the pets a little extra care no matter the time of day and without having to rush off for my own job or family (my wife is perfectly able to handle my 2 doggies on her own!). Able to send as many updates and pics as needed to ease separation and can handle any special requests.
“Karen has been a real lifesaver! She has helped out on several occasions (with very short notice) to check on my two dogs and cat. I really appreciate her and my beasts look forward to seeing her again soon!!”

About: Hi! I’m a reliable, patient, and experienced pet lover who treats every animal like family. Whether your pet is high-energy and playful or calm and cuddly, I adjust to their personality and needs to make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and temperaments, as well as cats and other small pets. I’m comfortable with administering medications, sticking to specific feeding schedules, long walks, crate training, senior care, and puppy routines. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. You can expect: • Plenty of exercise and playtime • Consistent routines • Clean food and water bowls • Lots of affection and attention • Regular photo and video updates I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I take that responsibility seriously. I communicate clearly and promptly so you can relax knowing your furry family member is in good hands. I’d love to meet you and your pet! Feel free to reach out with any questions — I’m happy to schedule a meet-and-greet to make sure it’s a perfect fit. I’m currently working part time Mon - Friday 10am - 3pm, but my husband is retired and generally home most of the time - I am happy to overnight board as well I have a fenced yard with 3 acres and beautiful country roads for strolling and spending quality time with your pup - we currently do not have pets

“Alexandra was amazing with our very nervous dog. She went above and beyond ensuring he felt comfortable and well taken care of. It was fantastic getting updates every drop in with how he was doing and pictures. I would recommend her whole heartedly for anyone with nervous or medically complex animals. I can’t stress enough how wonderful she was for our dog and us.”

“She is seriously the BEST!! So sweet and amazing with Buster, always on time, and was so flexible with going over whenever I needed her. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing Buster was in such good hands. I will 100% be booking with her again and couldn’t recommend her enough!! 🤍🐾”
About: I have 2 dogs: Mina (8 year old Wheaten Terrier) and Halle (6 year old Boxer). I've had them both as puppies so I know what it's like to take care of dogs during those rough first few months. Halle also developed some anxiety so I have experience in dealing with leash reactive dogs and training them. I love all dogs and have taken care of friends' pets occasionally. I'm currently working on a hybrid schedule, so some days I work remote and am pretty flexible. On remote days, I'm able to work anywhere with wifi and can take care of dogs at the same time. My hours are also flexible so I am able to help almost any time and can take frequent breaks to walk or play with the dogs. I would ask lots of questions to make sure I know everything about when I can crate dogs, or if they can go to parks or dog parks.
“Nouf took great care of my senior dog and cat. She gave me peace of mind while my boyfriend and I were away. My cat ran out the door (because she’s crazy!) and she was able to quickly catch her and bring her back inside safely. Reliable, responsible, responsive, and gave detailed updates + lots of pictures! I would recommend her if you are looking for someone who can handle your furbabies!”

About: I’m a genuine and dependable animal lover trustworthy and responsible. I’m patient, attentive, and committed to making pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away. I’m happy to follow specific feeding, walking, playtime, and care routines, and I’m especially patient with pets who need extra attention, including young, energetic, shy, or senior pets. I treat every pet as if they were my own and make sure their owners can feel confident and at ease while they’re in my care. I am available daily for pet sitting and boarding and dog walking! I love being around animals and will provide a beautiful experience that's safe and trustworthy! “Margaret was referred to me by a friend and she is by far the best person we’ve had take care of our pups!! She made us feel very comfortable by providing lots of detail of her visits and tons of pics! We will for sure be asking her to come again! 😊”

“Megan took care of my cats while I was on vacation. She did a wonderful job! She followed all my instructions carefully and gave me lots of updates. I would definitely hire her again!”

About: I’ve shared my life with dogs and cats for as long as I can remember, including adopted and rescue animals of different ages, personalities and needs. I have special experience caring for senior and medically fragile pets. I adopted a very elderly, sick dog who required frequent medication and attentive daily care, and I also cared for my cat through medical needs that required consistent medication. I’m currently a devoted dog mom to Graci, a two-year-old Labrador, and a proud grandmom to Zoey, a two-year-old mini Australian Shepherd/Corgi mix. Caring for animals has given me hands-on experience with walks, feeding routines, playtime, medication schedules, close supervision and helping pets feel safe and comfortable. I understand that rescue animals and senior pets may need additional patience, consistency and time to build trust. I’m also a retired federal professional known for being dependable, observant and calm in unexpected situations. I understand that trusting someone with your pet—and your home—is a very personal decision. I will follow your instructions carefully, communicate consistently and provide plenty of photos and updates so you can feel completely comfortable while you’re away. “Continuing my professional development” sounds more natural and polished than “pursuing additional courses.” I’m currently taking a professional break while continuing my professional development, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to provide your pet with attentive, loving care. I’m home much of the day and can easily accommodate feeding, playtime, medication, cuddles, and your pet’s normal routine. Safety and comfort are always my priorities. I have one friendly Labrador who gets along well with other dogs and can be crated or kept separately if needed. My neighborhood is great for safe, leashed walks, and I carefully follow each pet parent’s instructions regarding feeding, medication, exercise, and routines.
“Abbey was an amazing sitter for our 2 older dogs. She gave us great updates and accommodated our one dog who could no longer do stairs well. Definitely would love her to watch our dogs again!”

About: Hi. I'm Katherine. I have had dogs all of life. I've rescued shelties through NVSR and have taken in many 'street' cats. My last sheltie passed away this spring and while I'm still mourning her too much for a new dog I do desire to shower your pets with affection and make them feel special when you cannot. I'm willing to throw the ball until they are whipped. I'm willing to walk them until they are all tuckered out. My theory has always been that a good dog is a tired dog and a tired dog is a good dog. I've had that 'can't be with them as much as I want' guilt. You can feel confident that they will have the same you you would give them with me. I am currently working part time from home so I have all sorts of time to take good care of your babies when you can't. I will walk and play with your babies in parks, on walks and at the beach. I'm steps away from Dog beach for them to play.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
