“Julie did an amazing job caring for our pups while we were out of town. Even our timid boy who usually doesn’t warm up to new people let her give him belly rubs! Will definitely use her again in the future.”

“Angel did amazing she took such good care of my cat and around the holidays which was very appreciated. Good communication, followed all instructions, would highly recommend her to anyone in need of pet care”

“Taylor was amazing! She dropped in on our 2 dogs and 2 cats for the weekend and sent so many amazing pictures and updates each time. She was super reliable and communicative, and it honestly made it so much easier to relax knowing the pets were in good hands. She was also so thoughtful about cleaning the dogs’ paws after the rain and staying for long enough to allow the dogs to get enough play and potty time. We will definitely be using her services again the next time we go on vacation! I highly recommend her to anyone needing a sitter!”

“Kayla was incredibly friendly and considerate when watching my cat for a few days. She went above and beyond what I even asked for her to do and I couldn't be happier with her service!”

“Jennifer was lifesaver! I haven’t been able to go anywhere because of the amount of animals I have and the expense and difficulty in boarding them. A friend recommended Rover.com and to my amazement Jennifer said no problem! She did an excellent job and cared for all my high needs animals. I highly recommend her she is a godsend!”

“Chelsey took great care of my 108 pound Lab. She sends lots of pictures from the drop in visit which I appreciated. She’ll definitely give you peace of mind that your fur baby is taken care of!”

About: I have such a big heart for animals but unfortunately don’t own any. Now I dog sit for several members of my gym that I love their pet to pieces! I’m at home most of the day I workout everyday and volunteer at my sons school twice a week so I am gone up to 3-4 hours at most but my husband comes come during the middle of the day. I would treat your pet better than if they were at home. I can’t help it! I love to take dogs on walks, put extra little nutrients in there food bowls (if diet will allow) and give them all the hugs and belly rubs!
“William was great at communicating with us and making sure all dogs needs were going to be met. We were extremely comfortable and confident with his abilities and he was more than flexible with our demanding schedule. Would recommend to anyone with their babies as I did with mine. Will continue to book for future services 😊”

About: I have had pets since age 9, caring for 2 dogs and 2 cats! I have experience in bathing both cats and dogs and brushing their fur. I even have intense experience with trimming nails on both cats and dogs– even the ones that get aggressive. I enjoy long walks around parks with dogs or just housesitting with cats. I have experience with dealing with a diabetic cat, which included injecting insulin and monitoring eating portions. I have full-time availability this summer! So I am open to many different times and opportunities for pet care! I have time for early morning walks or even evening walks and check-ins. In my home, I care for pets all hours of the day, monitoring actions, playtime, and signals for needs. I like to stick to a schedule as well for taking dogs outside, walks, and feeding times. I have experience in house-sitting and babysitting, so in a client's home, I hold responsibility for staying on task, keeping the environment clean, and monitoring all pets.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
