“It was a last minute scramble to find anybody to watch the dogs, Amber reached out through the app she worked with us and even though she had another dog she was watching she took on our 2 little ladies and took very good care of them. I would certainly recommend her to anyone who has fur babies. Dogs well cared for and she is very easy to work with. 🐶❤️😊”

“Kristin and Bruce provided exceptional daycare services. My senior dog initially had anxiety being in a different home. Kristen and Bruce were very attentive and made her feel comfortable.”

“Allison was great! She was very responsive and sent lots of photos and updates. I felt very comfortable knowing Hodu was in good hands. Would definitely book with her again!”

About: Former full-time human medical provider of 18 years; now available for pup sitting. Takes frequent walks with the neighborhood dog pack. Owner of one special dog named Tennessee. I’m free to organize my schedule between pet sitting and working on my business. Currently available most days until July 20th! Will update calendar when I know more. I like routine. I think pets appreciate kibble and potty breaks on a familiar schedule. I will honor your wishes for care, play, walks, and socializing.

About: I am a previous dog owner and current cat mom. I grew up watching dog and cat training shows on TV and going to in person purebred dog and cat show events. I enjoy spending my time with furry friends. I'm a in-home caregiver to my mom so I have lots of time to take care of your pet. I have weekly events on Sundays and Wednesdays, but can easily work around those times. I have a long line for when your pet is outside and lots of patio seating to supervise and play with your pet the whole time. I also have a crate for indoor use.
“Jenny and Darin were great! They provided updates throughout the day and took great care of our slightly anxious puppy :) Will definitely book with them again!”

“Gen has helped us out on several occasions with doggie daycare. Our one year old lab Boomer has had a great time, playing in her backyard with handful other dogs. The dogs always have access to water. When we pick him up he is tired, but not exhausted or overwhelmed from the day. Boomer doesn't want to leave when we pick him up.”

“Julie let me know a new dog would be present at the same time as my dog, and she made sure to attempt to make introduce successful with a 3rd dog. She let me know she was able to keep dogs in separate areas as needed, let dogs have space from each other, and make sure my pup was safe and comfortable.”

“Jenny felt right at home and couldn't wait to go back the second day! I'll definitely return to Paula the next time we need daycare! Communication and updates were great and very much appreciated!”

About: I genuine care and give attention to every dog as if they were my own. I’m patient, reliable, and attentive to each dog’s individual needs. I’m comfortable working with puppies who are still learning routines, including basic training and potty schedules, and I’m also gentle and mindful with senior dogs who may need slower walks, medication reminders, or extra comfort. My goal is to make sure every dog feels safe, happy, and loved while their owner is away. I currently work only 2 days out of the week, but my schedule is very flexible, and can switch days if need be! Will accommodate I care for pets by making sure they stay comfortable and follow the routine they’re used to. In a client’s home, I provide feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, and plenty of attention so pets feel safe while their owner is away. I also keep the home tidy and make sure pets stay on their normal schedule. If caring for pets in my home, I provide a safe, clean environment with supervised play, regular potty breaks, exercise, and lots of affection. I always pay close attention to each pet’s needs, personality, and any special instructions from the owner to make sure they feel happy and cared for.

About: My family has always had dogs. I’ve had all types of experiences with dogs. I have been pet sitting for years. I was in the 4h dog obedience project, did rally obedience, showmanship, did cgc and therapy dog training, dog agility, and I’m working at a doggie daycare and boarding facility now have been there for almost 8 years. I do work full time. But my husband works from home and agreed to help me out. So there will always be somebody at the house to watch over your pet. I also have a cat that is very friendly and not afraid of dogs-does your dog get along with cats?
“Ben and Kassy were awesome! My dog DouDou was only 8 months old and very nervous and shy and we booked a daycare first to let him get along with them and make new friends. They try their best to help familiarize him with their place, and their dogs. I can tell they love dogs a lot!”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Merrimac commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
