About: I have volunteered at the Animal Protective League for many summers, so I have lots of experience with cats/kittens, puppies, and dogs big and small. I have a sweet Shih Tzu-schnauzer named Lexi, and she is 12 years old. I adore working with animals, and have taken care of many furry loved ones. From friends to family, they have trusted and relied on me to take great care of their furry friends! My schedule is flexible to your pet needs. Throughout the school week I find time to spend with your furry friends and mine. On weekends I get up early and have ample amounts of time to check in, or walk your pets when needed! I have a large fenced yard, with my very friendly dog Lexi. She can roam, and use the restroom freely (since I pooper-scoop my yard daily), and she has lots of room to play. If your dog needs to be put in or taken out of a crate, I can do that. My main goal is that the pets are safe, loved, and keep their tails wagging!

About: I provide a caring loving environment for all dogs that I watch. I currently own 2 Boston’s and a boxer who I administer medicine too for seizures. I walk them daily and let them out hourly. I will make sure all dogs are healthy and as happy as can be when watching them. I also watch my neighbor or family friends dogs which range from sizes small to large. I don’t have as much experience with giant dogs but I would be more than willing to love them just as much as any other dog I watch! I am available during the day and night as I attended college and have classes in the mornings. I can stay as long as needed to keep them company and playful for when you return home! Contact me with any additional questions!

About: I have worked at a dog kennel since 2021. I had to do 2 months of training before hand. Friends and neighbors have allowed me to babysit their pets as well. I’ve fed, walked, cuddle, brushed, bathed and given medicine to dogs. I’m currently in college but coming home for summer and winter break. I’m working at the kennel still but want more work hours in the week I will keep an eye on them when they are outside as well as if I need to watch them while they’re eating. I will give them love and play all day with them

About: I have my own cat but dog and cat sit for for friends/family often - including my sister’s doodle for 6 weeks when he was a puppy! I work full-time and enjoy working out in the evenings but can let pets out for potty breaks throughout the day depending on my work schedule. I prefer to care for pets in the client’s home, since my own cat is very territorial - he is not a fan of other animals.

About: I’ve taken care of multiple dogs over the years and now my own Golden Retriever, Penny. I work from home and have the flexibility for dogs needing attention in the mornings. I have a flexible work from home schedule through the week and am available most weekends. I’m here morning or night if you need me I kennel Penny at night, but do get up to take her out in the middle of the night. During the day I take her out about every hour right now since I work from home. We get a good walk in morning and night with a smaller lunch walk right now. Good amount of playtime when she’s not sleeping! We’re doing training at Heartland with her in late September as well.

About: I grew up caring for my own pets and watching others, so pet care has always been part of my life. I’ve cared for both playful puppies and elderly dogs, which has taught me patience, attentiveness, and how to adjust care to each dog’s needs. I treat every pet like my own and focus on comfort, safety, and trust. I work part-time as a barista and am a full-time student, but I intentionally build pet care into my routine. I’m available between classes and before or after work to care for your pets, and I can provide reliable care any day of the week. I respect your home and your pet’s routine as if they were my own. I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding, walking, medications, and house rules. I make sure pets are always secure, doors and gates are checked, and their environment stays clean and calm. I prioritize safety, consistency, and communication so you can feel confident your pet is well cared for in your home.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of September 2026, there are 252 sitters on Rover offering Dog Walking across Merna. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Merna. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Merna.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
