“We had a wonderful experience leaving our dog Willow with Alma! She was very communicative before and during the booking which always makes the Rover process feel easier and more reassuring. Alma’s dog, Birdy, is super sweet as well. Willow seemed comfortable right away and according to Alma settled in more as the day went on. Great yard, deck for doggie lounging and overall set up from the house (super easy to see the yard from most parts of the downstairs). We will definitely book again. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats of family and friends since I was in my teens, but more extensively in college and since. For 3 years I boarded and sat for three different family friends. I’ve personally helped raise 3 dogs and 2 cats. I’ve even helped herd sheep and tamed alpacas! I work nearly full-time as a server at a restaurant, so Wednesday to Saturday night I’m unavailable for somewhere between 6-9 hours on those days. When I have my off days I’m usually at home or out for a walk. I’m usually efficient with my errands and have extensive free time on off days. My apartment is a one bedroom, so if I’m not playing around the apartment with the pet, I’d want to bring them on a walk or to the park. I have a very comfortable bedroom conducive to nap time, and I live in the heart of Old Port. Whenever I am with pets in my house I am always looking to set up a cozy space for them to relax with blankets, pillows, their favorite toys. I try to make them feel like a proper guest in my home like anyone else. My apartment is always very quiet despite being downtown, but I would hope to find activities we could do in and around Portland to help keep them active and entertained.

“My Rosie first met Matt when his partner was her primary sitter and she has been obsessed with him for well over a year. His wonderful partner is no longer dogsitting in the area so Matt joined Rover himself bc he loved the dogs so much and I could not be more grateful. He keeps her active enough that Rosie is tired when she gets home but most importantly I appreciate knowing she’s going to be loved on all day. Matt is flexible and super communicative plus he takes great pictures - I would recommend him without any hesitation.”

About: I’ve been an animal lover for my whole life! I have experience with dogs of many sizes and breeds, cats, cows, and chickens. Walking dogs is one of my favorite things to do. I have worked for a dog walking company for the past 3 years. Also, I have worked on multiple farms where I’ve cared for farm animals and dogs/cats. I will care for your pet as if they were my own! I’m working a remote part-time job which leaves me with plenty of time to walk dogs throughout the day and in the evening. Additionally, I have a very flexible schedule on the weekends. If I am caring for your pet in your home I will make sure to follow whatever schedule you have for them. I will take them out to play often and give them lots of love.

About: We have always had pets in our home. Besides our own, we regularly watch our neighbors animals as well (dogs and cats). We recently had to say goodbye to our special needs dogs. So we have lots of experience and patience. Both my wife and I work from home so are very flexible with our schedule. This allows us to watch all ages of animals, allowing for frequent bio break and a flexible feeding schedule. We have a house full of love. With 2 adults and 2 teens/preteens your animal will get all the attention it deserves. We have a very accommodating house with a fenced in yard. Your animal is not limited in our house, we treat them like they are our own. We go on frequent outdoor activities. Hikes, walks, bike rides... Depending on your animals level of activity we would love for them to join us. We have experience with crate trained animals, as well as those that are more of the free range type. We recently had to say goodbye to our dog of 16years, and are looking to share our family with yours. We have a lot of experience with special needs dogs. So your companion will be in good hands.

About: I've had animals all my life, and my current dog for 7.5 years. (Black Lab 74 lbs) He obeys without issue and is full of love. When you meet him he will let you know how happy he is and he will share his love with you. He loves everybody and everything. I'm an Air Force veteran and I take pride in everything I do. I work from home, so I am with my Dog (Black Lab) 100% of the time. I keep my door open so my dog can go in and out as he pleases. I'm a full time dog caretaker. My dog gets along with every living creature big or small. So any visitors will have the time of their life. My dog will also be with me on walks, making friends with all the other dogs. I have a fully fenced in yard, plenty of toys, a plastic dog pool for the warmer months, and shelter and inside access for the colder months. I DO NOT feed dogs human snacks. Milk-bones are the only treat I share with unknown dogs. If you authorize other treats just let me know! =)
