“Kathryn did another great job taking care of my two dogs. I appreciated her timely updates along with the daily pictures. She's reliable, consistent, and willing to go that extra step to make my time away from home less stressful.”

“Eliza has had two visits with my boys, Dex and Moe, and already I am impressed. She is highly- competent, intelligent, pays attention to detail, and is very experienced with caring for animals. Most importantly, however, is how much my pups already adore her and how comfortable I feel when she is in my home and my presence. Both my boys are rescues, however, Dex in his first year of life was subjected to extreme abuse and neglect. It generally takes him a very long time to trust new people inside the home ( in Rover’s case that means many meet and greets with me present ) and outside the home on walks significant caution is needed at all times because he is very reactive to numerous things. I adopted Dex in 2018 and I have * never seen him warm up to any new caregiver ( or person in general) as quickly as he has to Eliza. Moe loves everybody. It is also very apparent that Eliza is very attentive when I discuss details about my boys and detailed special instructions even though I have not yet written them down, which I will. I feel at ease and fully trust that Eliza takes these instructions very seriously and understands that, in the case of Dex especially, instructions about the precautions necessary when walking him outside cannot be deviated from- he truly is a very special- emotional- needs dog ( he’s 8 ) and always will be. I am fully confident that whether I need to be away because of a health emergency or am simply on vacation that my dogs are in the best of hands under her care. I would highly recommend Eliza to anyone.”

“She did a great job with my 2 dogs and cat. I had to add my cat last minute and she was willing to do so, she also, Communicated well, played with them, and followed my instructions closely.”

“Gabby did a phenomenal job caring for my new kitten for a full week. She was very communicative, and most importantly, gave my kitty lots of love and attention. We are so grateful!”

“Samantha has taken care of our cat two times now, and each time I am more happy than the last with how well she cares for Coco. Her daily communications are excellent as she keeps me posted before and after each visit. I adore the daily pictures I receive of our cat; it's almost like still being home! Samantha is knowledgeable about cats and has given me advice concerning our cat's diet and her habits. I don't know what I would do without her! We have a few trips planned in the near future and I will use Samantha each time. She is a Five Star cat sitter!”

“Yesenia was absolutely amazing!! She made sure to communicate all our fur babies activities and behaviors ensuring we felt at ease while away. Our trio loved her and welcomed her eagerly. She sent pictures, gave timely updates and followed directions to a “T”. We will absolutely book her again and will recommend her to friends & family. She was exceptional and our fur babies loved her too! Thank you, Yesenia!”

“Judith was very caring with my senior pug. She paid attention to the details of his routine and wasn’t afraid to ask questions as needed! I would book with her again.”

My schedule is extremely flexible and can work weekdays and weekends. As long as your pet is happy then I am happy! I value constant communication when I leave my babies in someone else’s care, so I prioritize keeping you updated on what your babies need while under my care. I also prioritize pet safety and keeping your pets safe and happy is extremely important to me.
“Amanda did an amazing job with taking care of my fur babies. She was so kind and attentive while she was with them, she gave us updates and photos to let us know they were okay.”

About: I have owned dogs my whole life because I love their companionship. I love their entertaining nature and different personalities. I enjoy playing, training, walking, entertaining, talking, and singing with dogs. I just find them fascinating and amusing to watch and be in their company. I have owned plenty dogs. I have owned chichuahas, schnauzers, dobermans, pit bulls, bulldogs I dont have a preference. If I feel a connection I go with it. Every dog has a purpose and they are wonderful little gifts that one should not take for granted. They can be heroes when you least expect it and matter more than people care to think. I can promise to treat your dog like one of my own and spoil them like they deserve. Pet care fits right in my life because I have always owned or cared for a fur baby almost all my life. It just fits in because it is what I have been doing since I was a kid. I work from home so I am always with the babies. I make sure to stay attentive and keep the doggies entertained and busy. I play and talk to them constantly and treat them as little toddlers that dont listen and cant stay still.
About: I've taken care of both cats and dogs since I was little. I have raised and fostered puppies and kittens, and know how to administer basic aid. My home is pet friendly and safe for all fur-babies. I am very flexible with boarding times and setting up a meet and greet if needed. I am looking forward to meeting your fur babies! I have a fenced yard, a friendly chihuahua, and 3 cats who love to play with other animals. We have lots of toys, a cat tree, treats, and free feeding- unless you require specific meal times and special diets.

Yesenia did an excellent job helping me with my 3 three week old kittens while I was out for a few days. She definitely knows her stuff when it comes to caring for the little guys. Got pictures every visit with helpful updates. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a cat sitter!

Alejandra did an excellent job caring for my parakeets. She was responsive, dependable, and available even with last-minute requests and several unplanned rebookings. I also appreciated that she kept the area around the cage neat and clean. I’m very thankful for all of her help. I hope I am able to show how extra grateful I am effectively.

Emma was great with my Buddy, calm and quiet but determined to make a friend. I could tell from the pictures that he was enjoying her visits. Emma was so easy to work for me as well and I never had a reason to stress over whether he was getting the attention he always wants.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in McAllen. On Rover:
- 80% of sitters can help with special care needs

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
