“Barbara is great! Outstanding communication from start to finish. And most importantly, our quirky little Molly seemed immediately at home. She can be unpredictable in her eating and eliminating habits, and also needs a daily medication but Barbara was understanding, patient and took it all in stride and I was fully confident that Molly was in good hands and we could enjoy our pet free holiday. I highly recommend her and she will be our first choice to care for Molly.”

“Our sitter Jan was marvelously accommodating!! Not only was she welcoming and considerate of all our dogs needs but was a genuinely sweet person. I could not recommend her more. Thank you Rover but mostly Jan!”

“Alisha, Joshua, and family took wonderful care of our dog while our family was out of town for two weeks. We were nervous to leave her for so long but our nerves were immediately calmed when we met them and, further, received regular updates with sweet photos of our dog looking right at home with them. Alisha even went above and beyond and drove her home while we were navigating customs, long term parking shuttles, and the ferry home after a very long travel day coming from Southeast Asia. We had a happy, well cared for dog waiting for us when we arrived. Highly recommend this lovely family and will definitely reach out again for any future trips we need to take without our scruffy gal ❤️”

“Sarah took such amazing care of Barry. He is prone is some general/separation anxiety and we were worried he may have a tough week but that is the absolute opposite of what happened! Barry LOVED his time there and made so many new friends, I doubt he had much time to miss us. Sarah sent us updates and photos every day, which was much appreciated. I feel so relieved that Barry was so well taken care of and had such a fun time. We will definitely use Sarahs petsitting services again!”

“Connor is a fabulous dog sitter from our first play date intro for Ollie and Connor to meet, to sending pictures while Ollie was boarding. Ollie had a fabulous time, and we’ll be back to stay again in the future.”

“Luke, my senior rescue dog, just spent the weekend with Matt and Sander. My dog is shy and still recovering from the trauma of being lost and found when I adopted him in January. This was his first experience with a dog sitter, and he seemed to do very well. Matt and Sander were sensitive and attentive to Luke's needs, and it looked like Luke was quite comfortable with this family and their dog. So I have booked another stay.”
“Cynthia did a great job watching Sparky. She took him the dog park nearby where Sparky and her dog played and had a great time. They also ran around and played a lot in her fenced backyard. She also sent a lot of videos of Sparky, which was nice.”

“Ulysses had a great time with Belinda, yet again...African Sky Kennels is my absolute go-to for dog sitting/boarding when I'm in the area. Belinda is attentive and actively interested in the well being and innner-life of the dogs in her care...10/10 will be back!”

“Elizabeth and her family are wonderful with my dog. She gets walks and lots of love. I appreciate the photos Elizabeth shares regularly. I am happy and so is my pup!”

“I have had two reservations with Lorelei and each time my little babies have been very well cared for. She is absolutely the best sitter I have ever had and I look forward to using her services in the future!”

“Kimberly was amazing with my dog. She is friendly, kind and very understanding. My dog had a great experience with Kimberly, I had daily pictures and updates. My dog was in good hands, I will recommend Kimberly to others and will use her service again.”

“Jennifer was really kind and upfront about caring for my dogs who have some anxiety. She has such knowledge and skill she could manage them with aplomb and it allows me to feel comfortable leaving them with her.”

“Wow! Kingsley came back feelin’ good!! This is our 2nd visit with Reagan! She is super attentive and accommodating to all of his quirks and eccentricities. We appreciate the hospitality!!! Thank you so much! 🫶🐶”

“Craig and his wife were amazing hosts. I’m sure my pup loved spending time with Guinness and the family. Craig was really responsive and kept us informed everyday of my pup’s acitivity.”

“We were so nervous about leaving our little one anywhere but Nancy made us feel so much better. Her kindness is so refreshing. You can tell she loves what she’s doing and the little dogs love her. She took walks every day, played in the yard and sent pictures every day. It was great! If I ever need to have care for our little one in the future I would call Nancy first. Thank you Nancy, you’re awesome ❤️”

“Lori & Gary were amazing!! Pepperoni had a great time. I was able to go on vacation and not be worried about my baby being taken care of. I will definitely be booking with them again.”

“Catherine and her family were absolutely wonderful with our lil guy, Ruffles. They were responsive, followed the care instructions, and sent multiple pictures and updates daily! We will definitely book with them again”

“Elizabeth was amazing with our reactive dog Chicken. She is extremely kind, communicative, and reliable. Chicken is an Aussie and they can be selective with new people and she did great with Elizabeth and her family. She sent regular updates and photos which was super helpful. I can tell Chicken feels really comfortable and well taken care of when she’s at Elizabeth’s.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Maynard home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Maynard.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Maynard sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
