About: I’ve spent my life around animals, growing up with big dogs and cats and now working at an animal rescue. I’m very comfortable with administering medications, high energy dogs, and senior and puppy care. Because of my background in animal welfare, I have a special patience for nervous dogs who might be wary of men, and pets/breeds who might be labelled “difficult”. I know how to give them the space they need to feel secure and build the trust needed to keep them happy while you’re away. I adore animals of all kinds and can’t wait to get to know your furry family members! 🐾🩷 I work from home most days, and am lucky to have a 4-day work week. All that means I spend a lot of time with my pets! I’m an early riser, so in the mornings me and my dog will often be on local trails, off leash parks, at Double Bluff, or wandering our sleepy Clinton neighborhood. We love to play in my fully fenced yard regularly throughout the day. Fridays and my weekends are all about enjoying the beautiful PNW with my pup and I’d love to bring your pets along for the ride! In my home, pets are welcome on the furniture and treated like members of the family. Paws are wiped off when we come back inside, and everyone has free roam of the house. When necessary we have gates to seperate upstairs and downstairs areas, so if your pet needs some private time on their own couch, it’s available to them! At your house, I treat your space with the same level of care I give your pets. I’ll make sure the mail is brought in, your plants are watered, the house stays tidy, and the locks are triple checked. Because I work with rescued animals, I’m also very intentional about maintaining your pet’s routine to minimize any anxiety while you’re away. When we’re out, I’m hyper-vigilant about leash safety and harness checks. If your dog is a flight risk or just easily spooked, I have the experience to keep them focused, happy, and secure. I know I need lots of updates when I’m on vacation, so you’ll get plenty of photos from me from each visit! No judgement if you’re a helicopter pet parent, I promise 😉
About: What is a home without a dog? I have always had a dog- or a few dogs. They make life good. I live with my husband and our two teenage daughters. We are a fun loving family of four, living on a small (wanna be) farm with our dog Larry and a flock of hens. Larry was a rescue from the humane society- and despite her rough start, she is ridiculous sweet. She can be both playful and lazy- a great combination for a playdate. The house yard is dog friendly- very large and fully fenced. My home is equally dog friendly- relaxed with plenty of room to get comfortable. I have a work from home situation, so your furry friend/family member will get plenty of love and good attention. I (and my family) are very animal - and people- focused. While I will be the primary contact and person in charge of your dog, know that my family will also be available and more than willing to help- we love dogs! Happy to have yours with us :). Your dog(s) will be warmly welcomed into our home- made to feel comfortable and kept safe. Our dog Larry is a part of our family. I similarly care for dogs that I host, as if they were a part of our family, and in a way that you would want - love and attention, exercise and play. All the loves.

“Marlene is someone I trust to take good care of my dog. She took care of my sweet Potato for three days and he came home happy and tired from all the play with other dogs. It is nice to know he is in good hands with Marlene.”

About: I've had experience taking care of both dogs and cats. My friends and family have often trusted me with taking care of their pets, which included feeding and walking them. With my former dog, I did basic training in commands (i.e. sit, stay, come) and know how to be firm when necessary. As a recent cat owner, I've learned the reins on taking care of a cat and how to live with one as well. Currently I'm freelancing, so I'm pretty flexible on availability with enough notice! Walking and playing with your pets is a fun activity I'm always down for. I can take care of cats and small dogs within my living space. I do not have a fenced backyard for dogs, however I am able to provide frequent walks and play time when needed due to my freelance schedule. I also have separate rooms if needed to cool off for stimulated pets.
“Kimberly is wonderful! She has an awesome property for dogs to run around and play. She would provide constant updates with great pictures of Lila. She even cleaned Lila up after rolling around in the mud. I will be using Kimberly again!”

“Teanna provided photos and updated about Lucy’s stay. Lucy was so excited to see her. I love that Teanna is willing to help train Lucy as she is still learning. We can’t wait to have Teanna watch Lucy again.”

“Conor was great! He was communicative and sent photos and videos. Lucy was lucky enough to spend time with another friendly pup and boy she was tired when she got home. Lucy felt very at home with Conor and we would be happy to use him again.”

“Best people to leave your dog with, I can’t say enough good things about them!! They took such great care of our Ollie, walked him, played with him, and he got along so well with their dog Haru! Pretty sure he didn’t want to leave when I picked him up! Thank you so much!!!”

“Annette is a treasure. Her experience and love for dogs made the day visit for our 2 mini poodles a success. She kept us updated, she followed all instructions and provided numerous pictures and updates. Her after visit report was detailed and quite useful. We would recommend her highly!”

“Jenny was wonderful, compassionate. This was the first time I left my puppy with her. I was a bit anxious, not sure how he will behave. Looks like he had a good time with Jenny. She was sending me pictures, video all day and was updating me about buddy. I will recommend Jenny. I am looking forward to have buddy bond with her another time. Thanks Jenny”

“Jose is awesome and Charlie loves him. His house is perfect for my active puppy and he loves it when there are other dogs to play with. I feel very comfortable leaving him with Jose and plan to do so when I go on vacation 🤗”

“We have sent our dog Happy to day care at Swathi’s. He really had a blast there, he has a bit of separation anxiety and struggles to leave us, but with Swati and her dog Ollie he really felt home. Swati kept him very comfortable and sent me regular updates of how he is doing. She has been very kind and sweet with him and I am looking forward to send Happy to Swati’s weekly, so that he can have fun with Ollie and other dogs.”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Maxwelton commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 3,221 sitters in Maxwelton, 88% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
