“Grace was amazing! I rescued a dog that has been very timid, scared, ready to bite. She worked with her on their walks twice each day and even at my hotel room when Indy didn’t want to leave her space, Grace stayed and comforted Indy every day and built a trust and relationship with Indy. and within a few days was able to build a trust with Indy who obviously has had minimal human contact or care, zero training, was left to roam and survive alone, trauma from being left alone in the middle of nowhere in Indiana, obviously scared of being the great dog that she is. But Grace helped Indy across a bridge that most people wouldn’t have tried to do. Not only is Grace a great dog walker, she’s a dog lover.. Great to work with, I have n zero complaints and a list of things she did outside of her walks that I should compliment her for that she did out of the kindness of her heart for Indy! Amazing person to have with your pet”

About: Husband and wife team seeking to pamper your pets (cats or dogs) in the comfort of your own home whenever you are away due to work, vacation or business travel. Our schedule is flexible, so yours can be too. Allow us to love and care for your pets in your absence. For the past several years, we have had the privilege of caring for many clients' beloved family pets. Please read their comments to see what they say about how we care for their furry friends. Thank you, Gary and Eileen Why I love dog sitting My wife and I had a Daschund named Snuffer when we were first married, and I have cared for a friend's dog whose name was Bear. Snuffer was such a sweetheart and Bear has now passed. In addition, I also grew up with cats and have a special love for them. My experience administering medication Yes, oral medications. Our schedules are flexible and we can typically do morning, afternoon and evening visits. We work with you to determine what is best for your animals. We prefer to come to your house to care for your pets because we feel they are more comfortable with their usual routine in their own environment.
About: I have always had a pet, dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and rats. I love animals and realize the difficulty in leaving your animal babies with someone you trust while you are gone. I take that responsibility very seriously. I recently retired and would like to include in my day, caring for animals whose owners need help when they are gone from the home. I have a fenced yard, and an easy going home environment. I also have two older dogs, 4 indoor kitties, with a total of six cats. They are all pretty laid back.
“Very polite and professional, will definitely be a returning client for Kari! She walked my chocolate lab named Hiccup even though it started to rain. Thank you so much!”

About: I have been a regular pet sitter for friends, family, and coworkers since I was a teenager. I have experience with large or small dogs, elderly dogs, cats, and pets that need medication or other accommodations. I have experience with dog-sitting for up to two weeks at a time. This has sometimes included, but is not limited to, administering medication, cleaning up messes inside and outside, walking, feeding, and bathing. Ensuring the safety, health, and happiness of each pet I take care of is my top priority and it is one of my favorite things to do in the world! I do not have the same schedule weekly, so I will constantly update my availability. I only know my availability up to 3 weeks in advance. Unless I have to work very early the next day, I am available for overnights at least 3 days a week (typically). I am unable to have pets at my house because I live with a family member’s dog that does not do well with other animals. Please give me any and all instructions! I will make sure to follow any routine that I can for your pet to be comfortable. I will provide as many updates/photos as requested.
About: I'm a huge animal lover and was lucky enough to grow up with lots of pets from rodents to dogs to horses. I've walked big (150lb+) dogs, small dogs, and everything in between with no issues. Until I was 15 years old, my dad had my siblings and I convinced he was allergic to cats because he didn't want us asking to get one. Jokes on him that the majority of us are now cat parents. While I've had my menace of a cat (I love her to pieces even though she's turning my hair as gray as hers) for only a few years, I've still been around cats throughout my life and am attuned to their particular brand of affection. I have experience pet-sitting from bunnies to a pack of seven high energy dogs. If you're looking for a non-dog or cat sitter, give me a shot! I'm very determined to give pets the best care possible, and if I'm unsure of any instructions will not hesitate to ask for clarification no matter how menial the task may appear. No animal's needs are too particular or niche for me. Must walk counterclockwise around the block? Easy. Food must be microwaved for 12 seconds, but stop it with one second on the clock? No problem. Got to pretend their medicine is human food that was "accidentally" spilled on the floor and I need to "rush" to pick it up before Fido gets it? Done. My availability leans more towards the morning or evening, but I'm happy to work with you to best fit your care requirements. I do my best to keep my calendar updated, especially for weekends, but if you're wondering if I'm available please don't hesitate to ask! No amount of instructions are too much for me! I once left three hand written pages of notes on how to care for my hamster. I will follow them to the letter, and not hesitate to ask if I have any questions. Ensuring your family member is happy, healthy, and comfortable in their home is my number one priority.

I also spent nearly 2 years working at a dog boarding facility, where I gained hands-on experience caring for dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and energy levels. I offer drop-in visits that include feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, and quality time with your pet. I’m also happy to include a short walk during visits if time allows or provide dedicated walks as needed. I work full-time during the day, so I’m available for consistent morning and evening visits with the potential for mid day. I prioritize reliability, communication, and making sure your pet feels comfortable and cared for while you’re away. I’m especially comfortable with larger dogs and always aim to treat every pet like my own. I also provide updates and photos so you can feel at ease while you’re gone. I’d love to set up a meet & greet to make sure it’s a great fit for you and your pet 🤍 I work full time Monday- Friday 7:30-3:30. I am mostly available Friday-Sunday but will be available for potty breaks throughout the week day as well. I currently have three dogs. I have a Labrador, Golden Retriever, and a Beagle. I am used to big dogs so I will have no problem handling those big pups of yours.
“Kayla is the best! She continually goes above and beyond and absolutely cares about my puppy. She’s flexible, very easy to communicate with, and sends me better pictures than I can get myself! Highly recommend Kayla”

About: I am not a professional but sometimes I believe that’s okay. I’ve had dogs since I can remember. I’ve always had such a big heart when it comes to animals. I worked at a shelter while I was in high school and the hardest for me was not bringin them all to my house. I have two dogs of my own. They’re both older girls and very very laid back and friendly. I think every dog has personality of their own and that’s what is beautiful about dogs. I think taking care of dogs is more than a chore or a job, i think it’s more of passion. In my opinion you have to love dogs to be able to take care of them the way they need. I hope I can be what you’re looking for.

While I don’t have a fence, I have a massive yard with a secure lead, so the dogs can get plenty of space while staying safe. Plus, they’ll get tons of attention & plenty of couch cuddles! If I’m coming to your house for a walk or a drop in, I’ll treat your space with total respect. I’ll strictly follow whatever routine you have for feeding, crating, or locking up. Whether your pet is hanging out at my place or I’m visiting yours, making sure they feel safe and comfortable is my biggest priority.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
