This was my first time using Rover. Our cats are scared of new people. Anna did great trying to get them out of hiding. Water bowls, food bowls and litter boxes all done well. Would like to have her come again when we go out of time.

Great sitter and walker. Goes above and beyond what is asked and expected for the services offered on this app. Always punctual and dependable. Even came back later one evening when I could not be reached to let him in at the designated time. On top of that, the dogs love him!

About: I have experience handling high energy pups, elderly dogs, shy cats, etc. I grew up with two dogs and five cats! I know how important routine is, and I strictly follow all feeding, potty, and leash walking instructions. I offer flexible pet care throughout the week, including early morning, afternoon, and evening visits. I am also available for at-home sitting and overnight care. This means I can stay at your home to keep your pets safe, happy, and comfortable in their own environment through the night. Message me to coordinate exact times and dates! I have been surrounded by animals my entire life. I grew up in a lively household with five cats and family dogs, and I currently own two rescue cats. This background allows me to confidently manage multi-pet dynamics, different energy levels, and unique personalities. Safety and comfort are my top priorities, especially during at home sitting and overnight care. I treat your home with the utmost respect, keeping it tidy and double checking that all doors and gates are securely locked. For dogs, they will always remain securely on leash during walks. I follow your exact instructions for feeding, routines, and bedtime habits so your pets feel zero stress. I will always send you detailed photo and text updates so you can have complete peace of mind while you are away.

About: Hi, we’re Jodie and Aaron — your reliable mother–son pet care team! We share our home with two cats and still miss our beloved dogs, so we’d love the chance to shower yours with affection. We both have a lifelong love for animals and opposite schedules, which means someone is almost always available to care for your pets. We offer drop-in visits starting at $12 and dog walks starting at $15. Jodie is a lifelong dog (and cat) lover who’s cared for pups at every life stage — from playful puppies to gentle seniors and those with special needs or medication routines. Growing up surrounded by animals, she’s seen it all and knows how to keep dogs happy, comfortable, and loved. Aaron (19) has a calm, confident presence and a truly special connection with dogs — they seem to love him instantly. He’s also experienced with other pets like snakes, rats, and fish, and is always eager to learn more. Dogs tend to warm up to us quickly, and we treat every one like family. Whether you need a long walk, a drop-in visit, or just someone to give your dog a little extra love while you’re away, we’re here to help. We follow your pup’s routines to keep them safe, comfortable, and stress-free. We’d love to meet you and your dog — let’s make sure your best friend is happy, loved, and thriving while you’re away! Pet care is a regular part of our daily lives! Between my flexible work schedule and my son Aaron’s opposite hours, one of us is almost always available for walks, drop-ins, or cuddles. We both genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, so caring for pets fits easily and naturally into our routines — it’s something we look forward to every day. We currently provide care in your home, where pets can stay comfortable in their own familiar space. While we’ve occasionally hosted cats and dogs for short visits, we have two resident cats who can get a little stressed with new animals. We’re gradually helping them adjust to more visitors because our goal is to eventually open our home for boarding once everyone feels safe and settled. For now, we focus on giving your pets loving, reliable care in their own environment — and we’re always open to discussing future options once we’ve gotten to know each other and your pets’ needs.

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life but started working with dogs professionally in March of 2020. I’ve helped my friends and family with pet care for years. I’m currently working part time at Target but hoping to get back into pet care! My typical shifts are 6am-2:30pm but vary. I try my best to work around my schedule so the animals get the care they need! I prefer to work in clients’ homes, I have lots of animals of my own over here and I find that animals are much happier in their own territory.

About: I grew up taking care of dogs on our family farm. I was responsible for feeding, watering, cleaning, and spending time with them each day. I also grew up with a cat in the home. I love animals and enjoy taking dogs on walks. Besides my school schedule, I am very free. I have my own car and I live on campus. I am available in morning and evening and in between classes. I can fulfill any need that you may have for caring for your animal in your home. I live in a dorm on campus, which is not animal friendly:)

About: We have had the pleasure of owning a small business called "Pet-Inn" and boarded many dogs! Me and my mom took care of others dogs for quite some time and really enjoyed it. This experience helped me become passionate about entrepreneurship as well as working towards a compassionate connection with your pets! I currently have a part-time small business I'm running apart from being a "SAHM" so I will have plenty of time to get to know your beloved pet and get to know them so I can take care of them in the best way I know possible! I have some free time in my schedule, so finding a slot during the week to care for your pet works well for us. I have a now 6-year-old who adores small dogs, cats, and other animals! I am well aware of the responsibilities of pet care, but I want to emphasize that your pet's safety is my top priority.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Mason City stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
