âMaria did a great job taking care of Charlie. She also made sure the house was exactly like we left it. The only glitch was a problem with her schedule that delayed her initial arrival. I would definitely use Maria again.â

âKacy P. was an amazing sitter for our three fur babies (two cats and a dog)! We recently took a ten-day vacation and needed someone who would love our pets as much as we do, and Kacy was the perfect match. I was extremely hesitant at first because I am so attached to our dog, Ripleyâand both of us suffer from a bit of separation anxiety! But Kacy was wonderful, sending consistent updates and videos. Even my family members on vacation with me kept asking every day, 'Can we see today's video of Ripley?' Kacy gave loads of attention to Ripley, Happy, and Delilah, taking fantastic care of both our pets and our home. They couldn't have been in better hands! I highly recommend Kacy to anyone looking for a sitter who will do far more than just check in, but will truly shower your animals with love.â

âKyle was exactly the type of sitter we were looking for. We found him so personable, friendly and loved our puppies. He did an excellent job and will use him again. This was our first time using River and we were thrilled with this service. Of course Kyle made it a great experience for us and the puppies.â

âCharity was amazing! She stepped in and helped us when we needed someone to come and take care of our dogs last minute. She showed care for our home, make sure the dogs were cleaned up a little bit after having a muddy time outside, and just show them love and care while taking care of them! We will definitely be using charity again !â

âLook no further if youâre looking for someone to love your fur baby! Melissa did an amazing job taking care of our Bailey! She even went as far as to send us nightly text and pictures! I will definitely be booking her again as Bailey has a new friend!â

âDonovan always does an amazing job with our pups! He makes sure to always communicate with me throughout the visit and even bought my pups a treat (asking me first!) He makes sure my pups get the best care whenever he watches them! I would highly recommend him!â
âThis was my first time using Rover for dog sitting. Marissa did such a good job taking care of Jovi! I can't express how grateful I am for her care while I was out of town and the updates of Jovi throughout the day. So thankful for Marissa!â

âMara did a fantastic job with all our animals while we were away in our 6 day vacation! She house sat with them for the full time and kept them from being lonely and sad. Everyone was well taking care of and the house looked as good if not better than it did when we left. We got daily pictures of everyone and many updates throughout the day. We will definitely use Mara again in the future!â

âFirst time Rover user and was quite worried about a stranger watching our house and dogs. Let me just say Jennifer was great and withouta doubt will be my future sitter. The dogs were well cared for, and perhaps i am insane but i swear my house was cleaner than i left it when i came home. I got daily pictures during my trip assuring me of my dogs well being. Thanks Jennifer!â

About: I've taken care of a multitude of different dogs since I was 13-14. Neighbors, friends, family have relied on me to take care of their fur babies. I feed, walk, bathe, and nourish their pets as if they were my own. I'm currently in school still right now but I have plenty of time on the weekends and after 3pm during the week. Once the summer picks up I will be more available I come with a positive attitude ready to take care of your pets as if they were mine. I find joy in the outdoors so taking your animals out to get some fresh air is no problem.
About: I'm experienced in what to do in medical emergencies I have had that happen once I am a huge pet lover and I am friends with a veterinarian. Currently I only try to watch on my days off if somebody needs a sitter for longer however we could work something out I'm a huge pet lover and I live on three acres. This will depend on client some clients are okay with pets paying left out at night some clients prefer their pets be put in crate at night I will honor the rules of the client.
âLatasha was wonderful! From the beginning she came for a meet and greet and got down on the floor with my Percy! She asked very specific questions about his routine and wanted to ensure he was as comfortable as possible. During her stay she was very interactive with Percy. Took him on outings and walks and made sure he had plenty of play time and attention. On a night of a storm she let Percy sleep in bed with her to help comfort him!! Any concerns she had she messaged me immediately. She was great about sending updates and pictures to make sure I felt he was in good hands which definitely decreased my worries. Latasha treated my home with respect and left my home just as she found it. She even helped me with my newly planted garden to ensure it stayed watered while I was away. I will definitely use Latasha again in the future.â

âMakayla did an amazing job staying with both of our dogs. Our dogs unfortunately were sick when we left and she was extremely accommodating on ensuring our dogs took their medication. While also communicating how they were doing while we were gone. Would highly recommend her and plan on using Makayla again.â

âSweet and kind to our pups, respectful of our home and patient with our anxiety about leaving our pups. Super nice person who asked great questions about caring for our girls. We will definitely reach out to her again when needed to ask if she is willing/able to work with us. â¤ď¸â

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitterâs presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Maryknoll walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your homeâs security or appliances.
Itâs helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Maryknoll maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate theyâll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your petâs profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Maryknoll choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
