Debora had taken steps ahead of time to insure that Cindy did not get into an unsafe situation. Debora understands that a healthy cat cannot resist an open door of any kind. Debora let Cindy explore. She recognized Cindy's reactions to this unfamiliar environment. Debora was relaxed and patient. She quickly understood Cindy's personality. Debora was thorough in asking about Cindy's health. Debora is alert to nuances in behavior that may indicate a health issue in a cat. When I picked up Cindy after this her first stay, Debora commented on Cindy's vigorous, even startling, purring.
