“Karen has been a real lifesaver! She has helped out on several occasions (with very short notice) to check on my two dogs and cat. I really appreciate her and my beasts look forward to seeing her again soon!!”

“Our whole family love Katie so much! She definitely spends quality time with them, makes sure their wants and needs are tended to, and loves them endlessly. As fur parents, we appreciate those characteristics so much, as well as her availability with short notice. Thank you for all that you do!”

“Tori is incredible! This is the second time we’ve used her and we’re ecstatic to have found a wonderful pet sitter. She sent detailed updates and photos every single visit! 2 days it was storming and she made extra late night visits to check on everyone. My shy kitty warmed up to her really quickly too. She’s the best!”

“Kelly is the perfect sitter for your fur babies. She always kept us updated and responded super fast. She gave a lot of attention, and love to our fur babies Athena and Loki. All her pictures with updates were perfect!!! 10/10 will book again. 😇”

“Alexandra is super responsive and prompt! She is great with my pups and completed everything I asked her to and more. She is so good with my boys, I highly recommend!”

“Christin has been great with our new addition Penny. When Penny met Christin, it was an instant connection. You can definitely see her love for animals. She arrives on time and is very reliable. Penny looks forward to her visits twice a week where they go play in the backyard. In addition to Penny, our 4 cats enjoy her stopping by as well, especially Axle.”

“Courtney was amazing! This was the first time we have had to leave our dogs with someone other than family, so we were a little nervous since our dogs can be a handful with their anxieties. The first time our dogs met her, they were already comfortable with her. Throughout our vacation she was always in touch with us and sent us pictures. Even though we are back now, the dogs still look excitedly in the morning to see if she is coming, so we will definitely be using Courtney again in the future!”

“My 8 year old Matilda kitty just loves Lauren. She is knowledgeable about administering medication. And in the pictures that Lauren sends daily, shows my kitty snuggled up to her.”

“Ariahna was so good with my cats when I went out of town over the holiday! She took extra time to make friends with the shy ones, provide detailed updates and photos, and went above and beyond to deal with a few accidents 🙈 It was such a relief to find such a conscientious, thorough pet sitter and I would recommend her to anyone!”

About: My husband and I have been taking care of dogs / cats of all sizes and ages for multiple years now. We provided training and grooming while we were in NYC, we continued with rover while we lived in PA and we are so excited to now be in Reston. We both work from home so your pet will always get a ton of love and attention while staying with us. We know it’s always hard to leave them so we make sure to send you daily updates and photos. My husband and I currently WFH and are available during the day. I can walk / feed your pup and other animals during prime times of the day. We live in an apartment that’s perfect to make your pup feel very cozy while having a lot of open space for them to run around and play. I am very active so your pup will return exercised, played out and ready for cuddles
“This is our third time having Jessica over. She is very conscientious, responsive, prompt and responsible. She works hard to befriend our kitties even though they are not cooperative, and we appreciate that a lot! We feel very safe giving her access to our pets and our home! She is a blessing and we’re very thankful!”

“Amanda did a great job with our old lady cat. Amanda gave her lots of attention and was very communicative with us. She made sure everything was clean and tidy when we got home, which we very much appreciated.”

About: I have over 15 years of experience caring for animals of all kinds, including large and small dogs, cats, hedgehogs, ferrets, and hamsters. Over the years, I’ve also rescued and cared for injured wildlife, including rabbits, turtles, and birds. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I truly love caring for them. I treat every pet as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. I also have experience caring for pets with special medical needs. My own cat is immunocompromised, so I’m comfortable administering medications, following specialized diets, and providing attentive, compassionate care for animals who need a little extra support. Pet care is something I genuinely enjoy and make time for in my routine. During the summer, my schedule is especially flexible, allowing me to accommodate a wide variety of care needs. Beginning in the fall, I’ll be working Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with some work-from-home days throughout the week and availability on holidays. Since I’m off earlier than many people, I’m able to provide afternoon and evening care, walks, drop-ins, or quality time with your pet when you need it most. I live in a pet-friendly apartment with my partner, who works in person only 2–3 days a week. That means if your pet is staying with us, they’ll rarely be home alone and will have plenty of companionship, attention, and care throughout the day. One of the things that’s most important to me is communication. As a pet parent myself, I know how comforting it is to receive updates while you’re away. My camera roll is already full of photos of friends’ and clients’ pets I’ve had the joy of caring for, and I can’t wait to add your furry family member to the collection! You can expect plenty of photos, videos, and daily updates, so you’ll always know your pet is happy, safe, and loved. I tailor my care to each pet’s individual needs and routine, whether I’m caring for them in my home or visiting them in theirs. I know that pets feel most comfortable when their normal schedule is maintained, so I prioritize keeping feeding times, medication routines, exercise, and enrichment as consistent as possible. I live in a pet-friendly apartment with easy access to outdoor spaces, making it a comfortable environment for pets who enjoy walks, fresh air, and playtime. I’m also comfortable crating dogs when needed and following any instructions you provide to help your pet feel safe and secure. My own cat is immunocompromised, so I have extensive experience providing specialized care, including administering medications, managing special diets, monitoring symptoms, and paying close attention to changes in behavior or health. I understand that every pet has their own personality and needs, and I’m committed to providing the same patience, love, and attention I would want someone to give my own pets.
“Sherry was amazing! We decided to go on a last minute trip and she met with us the night before we left. She was so nice and a joy to be around so we knew Charlie would love her! This was our first time leaving him but we were reassured by her personality. She did everything we wanted and more. We can't thank her enough and we highly recommend her! We will definitely use her services in the future!”

“We are so fortunate to have found Mary! She took amazing care of our fur baby! I 100% plan on using her services again. She was reliable, kind and loving. We were able to go overseas for a week without worrying, or feeling guilty. We highly recommend!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 2,360 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Marshall. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Marshall. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
