“Jeff was a very good choice for us to leave Sammy in his care. He communicated with us on a regular basis and sent lots of pictures, which allowed us to enjoy our time away, knowing Sammy was comfortable. We were surprised at how quickly Sammy responded to Jeff. He is usually pretty shy. We will definitely rebook him.”

“Bailee was wonderful! We had a meet and greet prior to her staying with our pups for 4 days and I could tell we had nothing to worry about. We definitely will book with Bailee again.”
“I had the pleasure of having Kristen watch our dogs, Leroy and Stella Blue, during our stay at the hotel in North Dakota. She did a fantastic job, ensuring their comfort and well-being while we were away. Kristen's attention to detail and genuine care for our pets were evident, and it gave us great peace of mind. We would not hesitate to hire her again on our next visit to North Dakota. Highly recommended!”

About: I have been around dogs my whole life. I currently have a dog, his name is Oliver. I rescued him as a puppy so I have experience in taking care of puppies. He is my greatest joy! I also have care experience with senior dogs. I work full-time as an athletic trainer at Dickinson State University. I have mornings free until 11 AM and Sunday is completely open. Saturdays are hit or miss at sports go on the weekends. Every morning, my dog is the one who wakes me up. We have a pretty good schedule as he goes out and goes potty and we play before he eats. I always make sure that if he eats, he waits at least 30 minutes to an hour before any form of activity, other than walking. I take him on walks periodically through the day. And then he receives dinner at night. I take pride in the compliments I get as being a good dog mom because I do treat my dog has my son! I treat my dog as if he is another human. You can lay up on the couch and cuddle me at night I believe any dog should have that right! But I would completely respect boundaries on whatever the client implement.
“Ariel was great! Took Fantastic care of our hoard of animals and made sure that our home was perfectly intact when we got back from our Christmas vacation. We appreciated all the photos and updates she sent every day!”

About: I’ve had a love for animals my entire life and have grown up caring for dogs, cats, chickens, and a wide variety of other pets. I currently have two cats, three dogs, and a flock of chickens of my own, so I understand that every animal has their own personality, routine, and needs. I’m responsible, attentive, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. When your pets are in my care, I treat them like my own—with plenty of love, attention, patience, and care. My goal is to make sure your pets feel safe, comfortable, and happy while you’re away! I work Monday–Friday from 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, but I’m happy to work pet visits around my schedule! I’m available for visits before work, after work, and in the evenings, and I can be flexible depending on your pets’ needs and routine. I’m happy to communicate ahead of time to find a schedule that works best for both you and your pets. I believe pets are happiest and most comfortable in their own home, surrounded by their familiar sights, smells, and routines. When I care for your pets, I’ll follow their normal schedule as closely as possible—from meals and fresh water to potty breaks, playtime, walks, cuddles, and medication if needed. I’ll also make sure their space stays clean and comfortable while you’re away. Most importantly, I’ll give your pets plenty of attention and companionship so they feel safe, loved, and cared for until you’re home again.
About: I have grown up with cats and dogs since I was a little girl. I have always had kitties and I have had 3 dogs in my life! One of my kitties lived until she was 19 years old, so I am very well versed in taking care of senior pets. I love getting to meet new animals and getting to know them while getting to be their safety when their family is away! I am currently in the accelerated nursing program at NDSU, I have class every Tuesday and Wednesday from 9am-12pm, so I am available for pet sitting after 12pm on those days. I have clinical every Thursday from 5am-2pm, and will be available after. Every Monday and Friday are free for the most part and the weekends are also free for the most part! I always make sure to get familiar with the layout of the house that I an pet sitting at to make sure I am fully aware of where pets will go and where they could potentially be hiding. I also make sure to go outside when I am dog sitting to observe the dogs and make sure they are okay while their parents are away!
About: I have been asked by many close friends or neighbors to take care of their dogs. I am experienced in working with all sizes, breeds, and personalities of dogs. I currently am a student at University of Mary and I have an evening job which takes up a good amount of my time, but I love animals and am in need of work, so I found this opportunity to be very fitting. “Bradyn did a great job caring for our senior Doxie and Goldie while we were gone for 6 days. It was nice not having to worry about our pups while we were gone. He sent daily updates and photos. Thanks Bradyn!”

About: For the past 8 years, I’ve been caring for pets with the same love and attention I give my own. My experience includes everything from daily walks and playtime to feeding routines, medication reminders, and keeping pets calm and comfortable while their owners are away. I’ve worked with dogs and cats of all ages, personalities, and activity levels—shy pets who need patience, energetic pups who crave interaction, and seniors who need a gentle, steady hand. I’m attentive to each pet’s unique needs and always prioritize safety, communication, and consistency. Whether it’s sticking to a detailed routine, offering extra cuddles, or providing plenty of exercise, I make sure every pet feels secure and cared for. Pet parents can count on me for reliable updates, thoughtful attention to detail, and a warm, trustworthy presence. Pet sitting is my full-time job, so I’m able to give your pets plenty of time and attention throughout the day. I’m available for morning, midday, and evening visits, and I’m flexible with scheduling to match your pet’s normal routine. Since I don’t have pets of my own right now, I happily get all my cuddles, playtime, and companionship from the pets I care for. Your fur babies get my full focus—and lots of love—every visit. Most of my pet care takes place in the pet owner’s home, where pets feel most comfortable and can stick to their normal routine. I’m also open to boarding for pets who do well in a calm, indoor environment. I don’t have a fenced yard, but I make sure all outdoor time is safe, supervised, and on-leash. Your pet’s comfort and safety always come first.
“Miranda was so good with our dogs. They required some extra attention while we were gone and she did great. We highly recommend Miranda! She kept us posted and sent many pictures of our dogs doing great!”

“Kyla connected with Bugsy instantly! She went on a couple walks a day and sent pictures daily of him. She also spent the night and he felt comfortable enough to snuggle with her. She was very professional and did everything we asked her to do such as his giving him medicine, taking him on walks, and spending the night. I would 100 percent recommend Kyla and hire her again!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mandan walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mandan maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mandan choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
