“Samantha did a great job visiting my Moxie. She visited her and walked her. She did more than requested and Moxie was tired out from all the attention. Samantha sent a lot of pictures of the visit, which aloud me to see how much fun Moxie was having. I will be using her again!”
“Brooke was great. Very punctual and took great care of Oreo. He even came out from under the bed to see her and he doesn’t usually come out for people he hasn’t seen numerous times. Was very happy for that. Would recommend her to others and will def be using her again. Thank you Brooke”

About: I have plenty of experience. I would often pet sit for my parents neighbors and I always grew up with pets in the house. I currently have cats, dogs and chickens. I helped take care of my family dog from when she was a puppy until she was old and could barely walk. I have a dog I got as a puppy and trained him myself and I trained my parents dog when she was a puppy, I taught her all the tricks she knows. I also have a dog with epilepsy so I have experience giving medication. I’m currently self employed and make my own hours and I stay home with my step daughter so I have lots of time on my hands. I am great at caring for your pets needs however you need. I’ve given medication to both cats and dogs so if it is something your pet needs I am the person for you.
About: I’ve taken care of animals all my life. I’ve helped my neighbors, friends, and family with their animals for many years. I enjoy taking care of pets of all ages. I am currently still in high school and I am available to go check in on or take your animals on a walk any time from 2:30 to 3:15 and from 5 to 9 I have a large property and walking trails for your dogs to run around on and 1 dog and 3 cats to keep you pet company.

About: I've taken care of family pets since I was old enough to help out! I've taken care of dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, fancy rats, fish... Pretty much any type of animal! I do walks, overnight sitting, and check-ins. My family, friends, and previous clientscan attest to my experience and talent in caring for all creatures, big and small. I'm taking on a full-time teaching position in Raleigh in August, but until then my schedule is fairly open! I can do walks and drop-ins on a regular basis and plan to continue providing them and overnight care in the Raleigh area after moving. I maintain a friendly and open relationship with pets, meeting them where they're at rather than forcing them to come to me. I will always maintain any recommendations or schedules given to me to ensure that I give your pets the best care possible. I will also always obey house rules and ensure that me and your fur baby leave your home just as it was when you left!
“Emily was great with our two dogs over the weekend! Communication was solid throughout, and it was clear our dogs really liked her. We felt totally at ease knowing they were in good hands. Would definitely book with her again!”

“David went above and beyond to put our minds at ease about the care of our cats, and of our home, while we were away. He’s a great communicator who kept us in the loop about when he was able to visit, how the cats were doing, and anything else that needed to be brought to our attention. Would gladly hire again!”

About: Hi! My name is Fernanda, and I provide drop-in visits and dog walking in the Lillington area. I've always had a deep love for animals — I'm a dog mom to three myself: Cobain, Moonie, and Jalapeno, a senior dog who showed up at our house last year and never left. Caring for three dogs with very different ages and personalities has taught me to read each dog individually rather than treat care as one-size-fits-all. I understand your pets are members of your family, and my goal is to give them that same love, attention, and safety while you're away. I'm home most of the day, so a visit from me isn't rushed or squeezed in — your dog gets real attention, not just a quick in-and-out. As a dedicated pet parent to my own three dogs, my daily life is entirely built around a structured animal care routine. Because of this, my schedule is highly predictable and reliable. I manage my time carefully to ensure that your pets receive punctual feeding, on-time medication, and consistent potty breaks without disruption. Whether you need early morning check-ins or late evening drop-ins, I am organized, timely, and fully committed to keeping your pet’s normal routine exactly on track. Safety is my absolute highest priority. Managing a diverse three-dog pack with completely different sizes, breeds, and personalities—including a delicate senior dog—means I am hyper-aware of animal body language, stress triggers, and environmental safety. I strictly follow all entry/exit protocols to prevent escape artists from slipping out the door. I am patient, gentle, and highly experienced in tracking slow movements, administering oral medications, and recognizing when a pet needs quiet rest.
“Very attentive pet sitter. We have e a cat that needs meds, and she was able and willing to smash up the medication and get into his food. Another of our cats was feeling under the weather and she communicated this to us and was able to care for her. Highly recommend her as a pet sitter!”
About: I have taken care of lots of pets and have had a bunch of pets my self. I have an orange cat who loves to play and I have a bearded dragon as well. I’ve taken care of 5 dogs at once that were all high energy but so loving. I’ve had experience with bigger dogs like great Danes and German shepherds. I’m in college and have classes at 11:00-11:50 and on some days I have a class at 3:00. And I work 4-10 on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday and Sundays. But I can work around that to help you with your animals How I care for my cat beachy is I feed him in the morning before school and when I get home I play with him and gets his energy out. Then after awhile I will get my bearded dragon out and let him explore I also clean his cage and feed him. For my clients I can follow there schedule they have in place for there pets and I will treat them like my own.

About: I've had pets my whole life with the majority of them being rescues. I currently have three huskies and a doberman, as well as a leopard gecko. I have also in the past had chickens and fish that I greatly miss caring for. So whether the house or the farm I'm ready for your babies! I'm currently focusing all of my time on pet sitting so I can care for your babies at any time and for however long I am needed. I am based out of Lillington and am able to travel to the surrounding areas where I can care for your pets in your home, whether that be giving medication, feeding, playing or continuing any training that you have started.
“I couldn't have asked for a better experience! From the moment we met, she was so sweet and welcoming to Jalapeno. Throughout the stay, she sent daily pictures and updates that gave me complete peace of mind. It was clear that Jalapeno was very well cared for and happy. I will definitely be booking with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring sitter!”

“Anastasia is the best! She was so attentive and caring with our cat. She was amazing at communicating, was always willing to help and even go out of her way, and my husband and I couldn’t be happier. :))”

About: I grew up with an animal loving parent who taught me the value of respecting and caring for animals. She always had multiple dogs and cats in our house that I aided in the care for. As an adult I now have my own two cats! I work from home doing a very laid back IT job that gives me plenty of free time. I can be very flexible with my schedule. As long as there is a stable internet connection I can stay for long periods of time. My work hours are Monday - Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. I only request to arrive at the location either before 9 AM or after 5 PM My cats live inside and I make sure to give them all the attention and play that ask for as well as keeping their environment enriched. They are on a feeding schedule of three meals a day including one treat and lots of cuddles!!
“I scheduled a total of 7 drop in visits with Angela while my dog’s regular sitter was out of town and couldn’t have been happier with how well she took care of him! My dog is pretty shy with new people, but took to her really quickly and I was shocked that he let her walk him within a few visits. She clearly has a way with dogs and was also reliable and communicative with all bookings. I will definitely schedule with Angela again!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mamers. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
