About: Growing up with a dad who loved dogs and a mom who loves dogs and cats, we always had (and still have!) furry companions. My love for dogs and cats began as soon as I was born, my family had a corgi at the time. Her and I grew up together as we were one year apart. She was my first love and first heartbreak. After she passed, we decided no more dogs, it was too painful to say goodbye.. and then we got two more dogs 🤭 the love is worth it! My love for animals runs deep, and as I grew up that love expanded from my own dogs and cats to others. I began volunteering at the local animal shelter with my mom. We walked, played, gave treats, and taught tricks to puppies and dogs as well as snuggled, gave treats, and played with the kittens and cats. Once I was able to drive, I began house sitting and dog sitting for friends and family. And when I moved overseas, the toughest goodbye was to our chihuahua, Rex, and cat, Todd. Now I’m back and since I haven’t quite settled down yet, I don’t have any pets of my own and would absolutely love to take care of some fur babies. I’ve taken care of dogs of all sizes, from my family’s chihuahua (whom I potty trained as a puppy and took care of until he was a senior) to my sister’s Alaskan Malamute (needing lots of walks, belly rubs, and play time!) and everything in between. Upon arrival, I thoroughly review all the pet's care instructions, schedules, and preferences with the owner. This allows me to strictly adhere to the pet's normal feeding times, medication needs, exercise regimen, and other daily activities. I also make note of any special accommodations or behavioral considerations to inform my interactions. Throughout my time in the client's home, I dedicate myself fully to attending to the pet's needs. This includes providing consistent feedings, taking them out for walks and playtime, administering medications, and offering plenty of affection and enrichment. I'm also vigilant about maintaining a clean, safe, and stress-free environment by promptly addressing any messes, ensuring the home is secured, and minimizing disruptions. Constant communication with the pet owner is key. I provide detailed updates on the animal's wellbeing, appetite, activities, and any changes in behavior. And I'm always available to address any concerns or questions that may arise during my care. In-Home Boarding: When hosting pets in my own home, my approach is similar, but with the added benefit of being able to integrate the animal into my personal daily routines and environment. I have a spacious, pet-friendly home with a secure balcony, cozy bedding, and plenty of toys and enrichment activities to keep them entertained. I start by thoroughly pet-proofing my living space to ensure it's a safe, comfortable haven for my furry guests. I also make any necessary adjustments, such as setting up a designated feeding and sleeping area, to help the pet feel at ease in their new surroundings. Throughout the stay, I provide the same attentive care as I would in the client's home - adhering to schedules, administering medications, and offering ample exercise, playtime, and affection. But I also have the advantage of being able to incorporate the pet into my regular activities, whether that's taking them along on my morning jog, including them in family mealtimes, or simply snuggling up together for a movie. Additionally, I'm able to provide more personalized experiences, such as teaching basic training commands, exposing them to new enrichment toys and activities, or arranging socialization playdates with my own (thoroughly vetted) pets.
