About: I have cared for many animals in my life from dogs, to geckos and snakes. I have helped care for my childhood dog who had to have both eyes removed, and both of my dogs from adulthood who both had cancer. My daughter loves animals and misses her pets dearly. She is excited to help care for animals again too. I’m a preschool teacher in Rantoul, but my husband works from home. We can make times work especially starting in the early evening and weekends. Our home is pet friendly. We have some things still from our dogs. I am comfortable giving medications if needed to your fur babies (or scaly ones). We are in a pretty animal friendly neighborhood and a good area for walking.

About: Your fur baby is free to roam and explore my home. Unlike other sitters I bake dog treats 🙂 and I’ll bathe them if needed. If your dog has a medical condition and takes medication I’m comfortable giving them medication. I work from home so your dog will never be alone. I have a miniature schnauzer, her name is Scarlett and she is full of personality! Together, we play fetch, eat treats, take naps, snuggle, I read her bedtime stories, and go for walks. I have a lot of space inside and outside for playtime- together we get our exercise in. I like to bake dog treats and play hide and seek out the treats! When I dog sit, you will get daily pictures and videos of all the fun things that they do while with their auntie Q. I can even teach you dog how to shake with both paws 🐾. Your fur baby will be cared for like I care for my own. I always take the dogs out for a walk morning, noon and evening. I make sure your fur baby feels comfortable in the house by making sure toys, water, food are always available. I live alone so no one else has access to my home. You have to have a key to enter my building. I live beside a library in a peaceful neighborhood with wonderful neighbors. I can also crate your dog if you prefer.

“Kim was great with my two dogs! They're both small and elderly - one is 12, and the other is 17 - and they can be high maintenance because of that. I usually worry about leaving them at daycare with someone unfamiliar with their conditions, but Kim was very reassuring and did so well with them! They were able to relax and chill out with Kim's elderly dogs - which was great because younger dogs can be overwhelming, and the four of them really matched energy levels. Kim gave them a lot of attention, and she handled them both wonderfully. I'm so glad I have someone I can trust with my babies in the future! Thank you, Kim!”

I have cared for family, friends and my own pets since 2009 - feeding, watering, training and administering medication. I worked for The Animal Hospital of Monticello from December 2021-September 2023 where I cared for many different breeds of cats and dogs, at many different age and health levels. I am familiar with animal first aid and am regularly educating myself on medical concerns/treatments because health is my #1 priority. I also love to learn about animal behavior (of all sorts-I'm very nerdy), enrichment and training because I believe a mentally and physically happy animal is a healthy one. I also have experience caring for exotic animals including guinea pigs, chinchillas, rabbits, and lizards. I am happy to learn the needs of whatever baby I am caring for! I will not board any exotic animal or cats for their safety, but I'm more than happy to provide stop ins! ***If I do not believe I can care for your pet properly for whatever reason, I may have connections to those who do have the ability and I will be happy to help you find a new care giver.*** I am currently caring for two dogs from my home three times a week M,T, Th. They train, play, eat and snuggle with me all day. I also have a ten year old, so If we humans have errands, vacations or an emergency-I let the pet parents know as far in advance as possible. I have two very friendly Australian Shepherd type dogs, an 11 year old human child, a husband and three cats of my own. (Somehow we all get along!) Your fur baby will have the comfort of lots of friends nearby if they come to stay with us. I do require dogs to be up to date on all vaccinations, dog & cat friendly and kennel trained if boarding with me. (So during quiet times they have a familiar, safe and secure place for them to go if they're feeling overwhelmed, or if I need to separate anyone for any reason. I also believe it's simply safer for the dog in case of an emergency.) All animals are allowed on the furniture and often I will find myself snuggling on the couch with the babies. My family also has knowledge on animal care and handling so your fur baby will be under the best care no matter who is in the room. When stopping in I will spend 30 or 60 minutes with your pet baby (depending on your choice: there is a up charge for 60 minutes) feeding, watering, playing, pottying and walking. When choosing the 60 minutes I will also do basic obedience and manners training with your dog. I could try with cats but I can't guarantee my results. I also love pet photography so taking photos of your babies will be a free service offered along with their stay or stop ins. This will NOT be guaranteed every time.

I am currently available Monday-Friday, 8am-6pm for drop off & pick up. weekends vary depending on pervious commitments so please ask if you need care on the weekends! No matter what kind of services you are looking for, we can guarantee that your fur-child will spend their day(s) enjoying supervised play at a local fenced in, safe dog park or anywhere you prefer. We’ll make sure your fur-child feels welcomed, comfortable, loved, and safe even when you can’t be with them. I will keep you posted the whole time. The first time I had Hiro boarded I requested a video. It’s understandable. Your pets are like children. Crate training and potty training provided, if needed.
