About: My empathy and hypersensitivity have made me an animal lover since birth. My mother was the neighborhood vet and animal caretaker growing up. I learned a lot from her and carry that love and care with all animals I encounter. I have cared for friends and families pets while they are away and always put them first. I know what it's like to worry about my pets and want the best for them, so I strive to provide that to all pets I care for. I'm currently unemployed, so I have mostly open availability. The weekends are a bit busier, but depending on plans, I may have some weekend availability. I have cared for pets in their own homes and am very respectful of your space and your pets space. I appreciate instructions but also hope to meet you and your pet beforehand to ensure they are not surprised by my visiting once you are gone.
About: I have had animals and cared for animals since I was young. On top of my personal animals, I have also dog and cat sat for family friends. I have also dealt with a diabetic cat and it’s shots. I am mostly just available on Fridays after 10:30 and on the weekends. I do sometimes have the availability for an afternoon (after 4) walk or drop in. I can care for your animals as you see fit in your home and follow your standards for your animals and home. If wanting some play time with another dog, I can also bring my own dog, who loves other dogs, for some play time.
“We had a wonderful experience with Lynne! She was reliable, caring, and kept us updated while we were away. It was clear our pups were happy and well cared for, which gave us great peace of mind. We would definitely recommend her and would happily book with her again!”

About: I specialize in walking, running, or playing ball with your high energy dog(s). I currently am an approved foster for two Malinois rescues and have experience with working , herding, and hunting breeds. I am a previous large animal vet tech with ample small animal experience. In addition, I can provide pet medication services. I am in Janesville and Beloit on a daily basis. I have a fairly flexible schedule to provide services for pets outside of my home. I will schedule one run per day or multiple walks per day. I am a responsible pet caregiver who has ample experience caring for dogs. I prefer to schedule our first meet and greet with you present so your pet feels comfortable with me. At that time, we can discuss your expectations and your pets current schedule. I am not a certified trainer, however, I am able to do some basic training sessions as a form of mental stimulation for your dog as well.

“Dawnlea is awesome with our dog and three cats. We have her do weekly drop-ins Monday through Friday. She has a calm and loving manner with our pets. She plays with and feeds them. The pictures she sends of our pets are very comforting to see them so well cared for.”

About: I will absolutely spoil and love your pets like they are my own! I am a recent graduate from UW-Madison in Wildlife Ecology where I gained animal experience. I also graduated from Madison College with an Associate Degree for Veterinary Technician. I worked in the veterinary field for over a year before attending UW-Madison. I take pride in my ability to care for animals and the love I have for them. My schedule is currently completely open to take care of and spoil all the pets I can. I have a Chocolate Labrador named Jake that would need to come with me when house sitting. He is good with dogs and cats. I might not have a fenced yard, but there is so much space near my apartment for dogs to play and run. There is also a trail close by that I have taken my dog on, which she loves. I have a truck that can transport them. If I am caring for pets in the client's home I have no issue with taking them out to play or on walks. I absolutely love being around pets.
“We had a one-time drop-in visit for our cat Noodle, and it was a great experience. Communication was prompt and clear, and they were right on time. Even though it was just one stop, they made sure Noodle was well taken care of and comfortable. We really appreciated the update and photos — it gave us peace of mind knowing Noodle was in good hands. You can tell they genuinely care about animals and take their responsibility seriously. Reliable, kind, and professional. We would absolutely book again and highly recommend”
“Emily is great. I can tell she really cares for animals and my dog (and fish) would agree. She’s punctual and shared plenty of picture updates while we were away. I definitely recommend Emily for your pet sitting needs! 😃”

“Hailey was amazing! She was super responsive and agreed to watch my dog last minute over Labor Day Weekend and was a lifesaver. She sent plenty of pics and let me know how Delilah was doing and what they got up to on her visits. I will absolutely be reaching out again in the future!”

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life and have always had a dog of my own, so caring for dogs has always been a natural part of my life. I’m comfortable with the everyday needs of dogs, including feeding, walks, bathroom breaks, playtime, and giving them plenty of love and attention. I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine, and comfort level. I’m patient, attentive, and happy to follow your pet’s usual schedule and care instructions so they feel safe, comfortable. Whether your dog loves long walks, playing, cuddling on the couch, or simply having someone nearby, I’m happy to give them the care and companionship they need. I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. I’m available for dog walks, drop-in visits, feeding, potty breaks, playtime, and companionship. I enjoy being active and spending time with dogs, and I’m happy to follow each pet’s individual routine and care instructions. As I return to nursing, I plan to continue offering pet care on my days off, making Rover a great way for me to stay active and spend time with your pets 💕 For now, I’m offering drop-in visits and dog walking rather than boarding pets in my home. I’m happy to visit your home, take your dog outside for a potty break or walk, provide fresh food and water, and spend some time giving them attention and companionship. I’m a calm, caring, and responsible person, and I want every pet to feel safe and comfortable while their family is away. I’m especially interested in dogs who are comfortable with walks and drop-in care and who are able to follow basic commands. I’m happy to follow your pet’s normal routine and any specific instructions you provide so you can feel confident that your pup is well cared for while you’re away.
About: I’ve been taking care of dogs for 10+ years, and have two of my very own! I am extremely passionate about my love for dogs, and would love to be able to meet more and help you out! I currently work from home doing social media and marketing, so my schedule can be pretty flexible. Once June starts, my Tuesday and Thursday nights are full from about 3-8 but can always let your dog out before and/or after! Once end of August hits I head back to school in Madison, WI! I care for pets very deeply. I believe that all pets deserve the best life they can possibly live. My two dogs are taken on at least 1-2 walks a day, while getting play time in our back yard. Exercise is extremely important to dogs, as well as chill time:)
“This was my first time entrusting my pets and access to my home to someone in this app. I’m so glad that I met Estefanny. She took care of my pets, was punctual, and communicated well. Thank you Estefanny!”

“Julia is fantastic! Julia cared for my 2 cats while I was out of town for the holidays, and she was so patient, prompt, and responsive. Julia followed all of my care instructions and sent plenty of pictures to keep me updated. I will definitely use Julia again!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
