About: I have cared for several work friend's pets, including someone who had 7 medium-large dogs with a laundry list of special accommodations and medications needed I am an Army Veteran going to college, this leaves my afternoons and weekends completely free. I can alter the rest of my schedule to accommodate your pet I have a dog and cat of my own, so I have experience with the difference in the needs and behaviors of the two most common household pets. I care for their physical as well as their mental health to the best of my ability. I strive to care for all animals the same way.

About: I have previously worked with Flying Fur, a doggy daycare and boarding service located in Newport, VA. Here, I gained experience working with various breeds and temperaments, and I would be happy to help you with your animal while you are away. In high school, I took small animal care as well as vet science, and have interacted with several of the therapy dogs on Radford University Campus. I am currently a college student working part-time, and I’d love to help care for your pet on my free time!! I am free weekly in the mornings and evenings! Can’t wait to meet your pets! During the walks, I allow the dogs to go at their own pace to get a sense of security with me and I love to reward them if they are doing good!

About: Hi! My name is Laura and I am a senior at Virginia Tech. I have had a life-long passion for taking care of animals and hope to care for yours. Throughout my life I have cared for dogs, cats, reptiles, small mammals, horses, cows, pigs, chickens, and much more! I love all animals, big and small, and am able to watch over your household pets and/or any farm pets. I have had dogs my entire life, currently a proud pup owner of my hyper, loving golden retriever, and I know all the ins and outs of canine care. I provide play-time, grooming, walks/dog park visits, food/water cleaning and replenishment, medical aid, and so much more for your pup(s). I have training experience with puppies, and can handle all temperaments. Elderly dogs hold a special place in my heart so I will ensure their safety and comfortability. No matter the age or size, I would love to care for your four-legged family member! My availability is open starting August 10th. I provide house visits and walks any day of the week. I have my own vehicle so reliable transportation is not an issue. I will keep your pet(s) safe at your home and/or outside by keeping them on a leash, crating if necessary or requested, keeping your doors locked at all times, and taking precautions to make sure your pet doesn’t get into anything they are not allowed to have.

About: I have taken care of dogs within my household for 15 years now, with the additional walking & house sitting for neighbors! I recently started pet walking & sitting in Blacksburg this year and have had such a blast! As an incoming vet student this fall, I will bring an expertise and view that will be beneficial for the pet in their environment and for the owners. About: Hello! I love all types of pets and currently have two dogs of my own. I am a student at Virginia-Maryland college of veterinary medicine trying to earn some extra money by doing what I love, playing with pets. I have experience with all types of pets at varying sizes and personalities. During my undergraduate career, I raised two Seeing Eye Dogs and helped other raisers with training. During this time, I worked at a veterinary hospital, participated in animal specific events like vaccination clinics, and groomed. From healthy puppies and kittens to seniors who need medication, I have seen it all and am prepared to help with whatever your pet needs. I hope I can meet your fur babies and shower them with love while you’re away. I offer additional grooming services, ask about them if your interested. As someone who owns two dogs, pet care is a priority in my life. Both of my pups get plenty of one-on-one time as well as long walks and enrichment in the house. During the day, the pups are crated while I am at school, but if my boyfriend is off of work they get to run around and play. As soon as I get home the dogs get taken out and fed. Along with daily care, I take care of all of their grooming and medical needs as well. I currently live in apartment complex which has a dog play area for your furry friends to get plenty of exercise. There is also a trail connected to the complex which will be utilized for long walks and plenty of sniffing opportunities. Both of my pups are very friendly and would be happy to be your pet’s playmate during their stay.

About: I’ve been caring for dogs since middle school and have over 7 years of experience with pups and cats of all ages and temperaments. As a landscape architecture student at Virginia Tech, I love spending time outside and staying active—whether that means long walks, hikes, or just backyard playtime. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me for years to walk, feed, bathe, and love their pets like my own. I treat every animal with patience, joy, and genuine care. I currently take classes from 8 in the morning until 12 pm, so I am available from 6-7am and 1-6pm M-F and 10am-5pm Saturday and Sunday! I do my best to make your pet feel comfy and cared for, whether I’m hanging out at your place or taking them for a walk. I’ll follow whatever routine you’ve got and use whatever leash or gear you prefer. If your pup needs to be crated at certain times, I’ve got no problem with that—and I’ll make sure they’re settled and relaxed. I have lifelong experience caring for animals - I grew up with five cats, two Guinea pigs, and four birds! Petsitting for my neighbor’s dogs was my very first job as a kid and I have been doing it for friends, family, and coworkers ever since. I have experience caring for elderly and disabled animals, those with particular feeding schedules or allergies, and am comfortable administering medications for your pets as needed. I have cared for everything from dogs and cats to ferrets, rabbits, and even chickens. My animals are fully vaccinated and on monthly preventatives for your pets’ wellness as much as mine. I request records of rabies vaccinations at minimum for all mandated animals, prefer all pets be on monthly preventatives (just communicate if they are not so I can be aware for the safety of other clients), and do not bring outside pet food/treats/etc into your home to avoid potential sickness or reactions. I stick strictly to what the “parents” ask from me and I make sure to send lots of pictures and updates along the way! :)

About: I have taken care of animals most of my life, and have had anything from dogs and cats, to chickens and ducks, snakes, goats, llamas, etc. I have successfully trained dogs in basic behavioral skills and administered medication of various forms to all my animals. I also have confidence with even the largest of breeds, having owned a cane corso, among others. I have experience leash training as well as acclimating dogs with new animals and curbing unwanted behavior. I work full- time, but can work with you, especially if I can plan ahead by a week or more. I do occasionally leave town, but again, can generally adjust my schedule accordingly. I prefer to allow animals freedom to roam around if possible, but understand animals have different needs. All walks are leashed, no exceptions unless you have a fully fenced and secure yard you prefer your pet to run around.

About: I personally have a golden doodle, she does not stay with me so if your dog is ever at my townhouse it will just be your animal. I have taken care of animals ever since I could remember locally around my neighborhood. I am a student and also ride horses, Monday and Friday I am out of the house for about two and a half hours in the afternoon and a little less Tuesdays and Thursday. Friday, Saturday and Sunday I have no commitments. I do not have a fenced in yard but we do have a dog park. Every dog is required to be on a leash when taken out of the home and the owners are very respectful about that.

About: I’ve looked after my neighborhood pets since I was 13. I’ve primarily cared for dogs and cats, but I’ve also looked after hermit crabs, a bearded dragon, fish, and canaries. I’ve looked after all different kinds of dogs of all different ages. I have experience with both crate trained and free-roaming dogs as well. Owners trust me to make sure water bowls are always full, follow their usual feeding times as best as I can, have nice walks outside, as well as spend some time playing before I head out. When visiting your pet at your home, I’d give them time to get used to my scent. I’m comfortable with both crate trained pets and free roaming pets. I take this position very seriously and will take the best care of your pets while you’re away!

About: I have been a pet owner my whole life, and have been pet sitting for friends and family regularly. When in college, I was a volunteer at my local animal shelter and I also fostered pets when necessary. I am more than happy to care for pets in your home, or my own. About: I’ve taken care of my family’s animals for over 10 years. I also have worked as a veterinary assistant since 2020. I graduated undergrad in 2022 and am attending vet school! I’m able to walk, feed, give medications, and play with your animals! Right now, I have 2 dogs of my own. I have a 12-year-old chihuahua and a 1 1/2 year-old shepherd mix! The young one has a lot of energy and takes daily meds so I am responsible for that as well as taking her outside during the day to get a lot of her energy out. My family all share responsibility for taking both dogs out for bathroom breaks. I also feed both dogs daily! My house does not have a large yard and is not fenced in. Because of this, I am very attentive while walking our dogs and resourceful in getting their energy out while playing outside.

About: Ive had 3 dogs since I was very young. My first dog was a rescue English Mastiff Puppy who grew super big and gave me experience with a medium-big dog, when I was 11, Cody, our male Cavashon joined the family! He is the sweetest boy, but originally had separation anxiety and anger issues, I can proudly say after lots of love and attention Cody is a friend of everyone but is also okay with being alone :) 4 years ago I helped care for an elderly dog who has since passed, however I helped a lot with her medication administration and she helped me understand and gain experience with dogs who need extra care and patience especially when it comes to meal time and walks. I’m super excited to meet your puppy ♡ I am a full time student at Virginia Tech with a flexible schedule and my own reliable car. I’m usually on campus in the mornings for short classes (just over an hour), so I am always nearby and never gone for long. About: My mom opened a pet boarding, grooming and daycare facility which she has grown every year, including her family in it since 2001, to make Canine Country one of Charlottesville's most well-known and loved facilities. I was born fourteen years after Canine Country opened and was surrounded daily by pets that were left in our care. My mom's long standing connections to veterinarians and animal shelters have been a significant part of my desire to be in the animal industry in my own way. I am currently a student at Virginia Tech, majoring in Animal Science working toward Veterinary school. For years, I have been collecting donations and working on small projects to bring awareness to the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA. I began my fostering journey in seventh grade with newborn kittens. During 2020 and 2021 I fostered approximately 10 different sets of puppies. On the other hand, my connections to the CASPCA and my passion for helping animals led me to planning, building, and presenting my pet-themed LOVEworks which encourages visitors to spread the love throughout Virginia and to animals in need at the CASPCA. Besides pet sitting in my community my first job at a veterinarians office stands out in my memories because it had been a a goal of mine.I am currently working as an undergraduate researcher in animal nutrition as well as working reception at the VT small animal hospital if you see me around:) You can depend on me to be take care of your animals when you need me throughout the year and will do so as if they were my own. Wether I am walking or pet sitting with your furry friends I will treat them as my own and provide care as it is stated. About: My family has owned a dog for six years which I have taken care of. I walk, feed, play with, and take care of her vet and medical needs. I have also done a lot of work with animal hope alliance for 3 years and have ample experience with cats. Here at Tech I have pet-sit for several friends during breaks and weekends! I am a graduate student at VT so I do mainly lab work rather than classes and have a lot of freedom to play around with my schedule to make sure that your pets get my undivided attention whenever needed! My weekends are entirely free, especially for any boarding or home sitting needs! I do live in a apartment, but I am very close to the dog park if you allow that, and have a decent sized fenced in area near my complex that is virtually always empty for pets that don’t socialize well with other pets!

About: I owned a beautiful 7 year old St. Bernard and although he was stubborn he taught me a lot. I am able to control and establish a barrier of trust between us to ensure my safety, his and the safety of those around us because let's be honest he is a big boy (180 lbs to be exact). Taking care of such a big boy, ensures me that I will be able to take care of your fur baby, no matter the size, or temperament. I have cared for many other dogs and house sat a few with behavioral problems as well. I am currently working part time, however my schedule is not exact, so as long as you reach out I will most likely be able to accommodate you and your furry friend. I have a front yard and a large crate meant for any size if necessary. I live in a townhome and can take your dog for as many or as little walks as they need.
