“Chelsie took great care of my little guy, Finn. I met her before my trip and felt comfortable leaving him with her right away. You can tell she put a lot of thought and love into making her home a great place for dogs to stay. I was able to enjoy my vacation knowing that Finn was in good hands. I'll definitely board him with Chelsie again.”

“Kelly was absolutely amazing with my dog!!! She sent multiple pictures, videos, and updates every day that I was gone. She was also very friendly and easy to work with. Her house was perfect for dogs with a very nice fenced in back yard. She had lots of toys and treats available, and she even had a crate to use since my dog usually sleeps in a crate at night. She asked all about allergies and how she handled being around other dogs. This was my first time ever using Rover and so I was nervous at first but I felt very comfortable leaving my puppy with her before I left. And the entire experience ended up being just perfect. I would HIGHLY recommend Kelly and will definitely be using her again!”

“Very wonderful care! Our minds were put at ease after leaving Bailey ( this was our first time leaving Bailey with a sitter) we got many updates and pictures. We will definitely use this sitter again”

“Thank you Greta for taking care of our sweet boy. After meeting her, I knew he was in good hands and would be well taken care of. Taz is a 14 year old Morky that loves to be around people. Greta took great care of him and sent me pictures throughout his time with her. He doesn’t like to eat when he is not at home and she even tried to hand feed him❤️?. We definitely found the perfect sitter for our puppy whenever we come to Flint.”

“Jin and her family were so welcoming and kind with our two cats. It is always so scary to leave your pets with strangers but thanks to Jin and Brian I was able to enjoy my trip without worrying if they were in the right hands or not. They gave me many updates and lots of pictures and videos of my cats being loved! Their son was also very kinda and excited to have some new friends in the house and it was very heartwarming. Thank you guys so much:)”

“Selena did a wonderful job with Milo. She kept me updated with pictures of him having a good time. Getting to play with other dogs. My family enjoyed having her watch Milo. Will rebook with her when we need it again. Thanks again and looking forward to the next time...”

“He’s is my “Go-To”! She is so attentive to my baby and I love that she sends updates every day along with pictures throughout the day. I can tell by what she writes to me how much she loves having my baby there with her. Her entire family is so welcoming, they immediately make you feel like family. This is my second time with Jes and I plan many more visits with her.”

“Beth took excellent care of our dog, Ellie. She sent pictures and replied to our texts promptly. This is the first time in 6 years, since we adopted Ellie, that we have left her. After the meet and greet we had no problems leaving her with Beth”

“Krysia took really great care of our dog for a week during March Break! She sent us pictures and updates daily and treated her like one of her own. We will definitely call her again !”

“She is really awesome! It is my first experience and my dog needed boarding immediately because of my business travel. but she responded very quickly even if I requested about 7am. It was very appreciated. She also has a dog and cat. They were very nice to him.( Thank you guys!) Her house condition was good enough for boarding dog. Clean and organized. I am so happy to find perfect place at once. I think I am lucky.”

“Sarah and her sweet family are amazing!!! We left our golden retriever with them for a long weekend and Sarah sent pictures and updates the entire time. She is full of warmth and love and the perfect Sitter for anyone!!! We will definitely use her again!”

“Ted, was amazing — he watched Odin for us on very short and we couldn’t have asked for better care. We’ve gotten to know him and his dog Maizey in the neighborhood over time (Maizey’s always so friendly with other dogs!), and he’s just a genuinely kind person. He took Odin on regular walks, sent us photos throughout the stay, and kept us updated the whole time, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Would absolutely recommend him to anyone needing a trustworthy, attentive sitter!”

“I highly recommend Jacklyn! She is amazing with my dog, she accommodated for any of my wants. My dog gets so excited when we pull into her driveway, that is all I needed for me to know she does so well with the pups! Will use her again and again!”

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
95% of sitters in Lum can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Lum home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Lum.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
