“Jelisa definitely deserves more then a 5 Star ⭐️ We were incredibly nervous because this was our first time using Rover, and it was a very last-minute booking. Jelisa went above and beyond by making time for a last-minute meet and greet, which immediately put us at ease. Her communication was outstanding from start to finish, and she followed through on everything she said she would do. She took wonderful care of our puppy, Kodak, made sure he went potty, checked on his food and water, and treated him like her own. We couldn’t have asked for a better first experience and will absolutely book with her again. Highly recommend! 🐾❤️”

“Josie is dependable and cares for my animals with love and lots of attention.. I never worry when I leave them in her care!! She keeps me updated with pictures of them during my absence…❤️”

“Isabelle is my go to person any time we need a drop in! She's helped multiple ls time and always so great. Trustworthy, great communication and reliable! And my dog loves her!”

“Jana took care of Rocky so well and sent us a ton of pictures where he looked very happy. She even worked on some new tricks with him while she was here. Would definitely book with her again if we need in the future.”

About: I have been around or taking care of dogs since I was about six years old. I grew up around dogs of all shapes and sizes. My first dream job was to be a veterinarian because of my love for animals, but dogs more than anything else. I love dogs, and I understand that dogs have their own personalities their own emotions their own likes their own dislikes and different ways to be cared for just like humans do.i treat dogs with respect and I treat dogs with love. I never call dogs “ it” I call them by their name and gender like they should be addressed. I’ve also volunteered more than once at K9 battle buddies. I know how to adapt to different dogs with different demeanors. I am a military veteran with more time on my hands than I used to have so why not spend this time taking care of walking, watching and playing with animals that I love If a dog is in my home, I will take care of them as if this dog is mine as if I brought this dog into my family. I will treat the dog love I will protect him or her as if they are my own. If I’m in the home of the owner, I’ll respect the dogs home as if I’m babysitting a child. I will respect the home of the owner as well.

“Alexis was wonderful! I’m very pleased with her communication—she kept me informed and gave me such peace of mind while I was away. She took great care of Noah and Mercy, and it truly showed. I would definitely book with her again!”
About: I've had dogs for all of my adult life and I'm used to family member's cats, just don't have any of my own due to family allergies. I'm also keen to rabbits, chickens, and ducks for any of you backyard farmers here. I can administer medication if needed and trained my dogs as puppies. I'm by no means a professional trainer but I can help reinforce skills that may be starting to develop during my time with your pup. I have open availability since I stay at home and am in school, so I am very flexible to walking and caring for other's pets. I have a fenced-in yard for dogs to relieve themselves or play whenever. It would be easier to feed them at set times vs leaving food out due to my two year old playing in our dog's food if I leave it out
“Angel was awesome with my girls and quickly warmed up to her. She offered a meet up prior to booking and was flexible enough for an extra drop in on the day it was requested. Plus reasonable drop in costs. Would absolutely book again”

“She was amazing! This is the first time I hire pet sitter services for my cat. Once he saw her he liked her right away. There was daily pictures of him and she made sure he had water/ clean litter and food. I will be working with her in the future and highly recommend! Thank you again for watching my baby, Zoe!”

About: I have been caring for dogs for my friends and family since I was 10 years old. I have worked with dogs of all sizes and energy levels. I have also worked with puppies, geriatric dogs, and dogs with special medical needs, and I can reliably administer medication with minimal stress to the pet. I prioritize calm, comfortable, and compassionate care that meets the unique requirements of each dog I care for. I work full time but with multiple hour breaks throughout the day and fully free evenings. I would be able to care for pets in the morning before 6:30, in the afternoon from 11:30 to 1:00, and in the evening from 5:00 as long as needed. On the weekends and holidays I have full freedom to spend the full time with pets. In my own home I provide a quiet, calm environment with many pet beds, a fenced yard, large windows, high places, and areas and rooms that can be completely from one another. In clients homes, I care for pets by communicating before the service to establish boundaries and access instructions as well as meet the pets. Before getting to the property, I tell the client I am on my way. Then when I provide the care, I enter the property as instructed and feed and water the pet/s (including medication if needed). Then I change litter, bedding, pee pads, etc. Then I do any grooming that the pets need. After that I socialize and play with the pets if they are comfortable with that. Before leaving I clean anything else that needs to be cleaned. Then I leave and secure the property as instructed and send a message to the client to update them.

About: With years of experience caring for both dogs and cats, I provide loving, attentive, and dependable pet sitting in a safe and stress-free environment. Whether it’s playtime, feeding, or cuddles, I treat your furry family like my own I have two dogs and one cat. I am taking her of them 24/7 and am familiar with their needs. I am used to being around pets and love it! I keep everything that could be a threat away. I am always monitoring their activities whether is it sleeping or playing. I always make sure they have water un hot days. For cats, I like to keep their litter clean.
“Ashlyn was the perfect sitter for our crazy labs! She handled their personalities with ease and seemed right at home dealing with big dogs. We will definitely be using her again in the future!”

About: I’ve had family dogs as long as I can remember. At 11 I got my own dog and had to learn to train, potty train, kennel, feed them and was able to love them almost until their 18th birthday. Since then I’ve gotten one more puppy(now 10) and helped numerous friends with their dogs from puppies to senior dogs. Currently I am a stay at home parent, so that enables me to be home and care for your pet full time. We have a pet friendly home with a nice backyard and quiet neighborhood for walks. I’m home most of the days to provide comfort for dogs that are not used to being away from their families. I have kennels for those who need a safe space to relax, and a decent backyard for zoomies.
“Thanks for taking such good care of our babies! We appreciate all the photos and messages that you sent while we were away. We will be contacting you again! Great job! Highly recommend!”

“Alexis is fantastic! She spent extra time with Moose during her visits with him. She made sure to take him on long walks, feed him, and play with him before she left. She will be sure to accommodate for you and your pup to make sure both you and your furry friend are satisfied!”

“Thanks for all your hard work. Not your fault but, I noticed Chaplin began using the bathtub again as his personal litterbox. I thought I broke him of habit by leaving a few inches of water in it for a week. I cleaned the mess inside and put water in it again. A Pinesol cleaning tomorrow should help. Chaplin wants a really clean litter box. Manassas is not as fussy. I look forward to working with you again.”
About: I currently have 2 dogs. Baxter (Siberian Husky) and Cowgirl (Pitbull/Boxer/A. bulldog mix). I as well have 2 cats. My sister-in-law is a vertechnisier, so if any complications arise, she’s the first person I would call about your pet if it’s not an emergency. (Otherwise I will take to vet immediately) Me and my husband have lots of experience with small animals and dogs. And we have rehabilitated a hurt baby field mouse that was a couple days old without his mom. My husband is really good at training dogs and has taught me a lot of information that I could share with your dog as well. I am available to take care of your furchildren during the day as I work nights and on my days off I will be able to take care of them both day and night! I will make sure your babies are well loved, taken care of, played with, walked and fed. And even get a good brushing if needed! On dog walks, all feces will be picked up during potty breaks as well so no mess is left outside. If taking care of cats, they will also get the same loving treatment + litter box scooped after each visit.

Josie is absolutely wonderful! My furbabies loved her and that brought me so much comfort! My little guy even had itching and irritation and she brought some anti-itch spray for him. She sent me updates and pictures, and was able to get them to pose for pictures! I would definitely recommend her caring for your furbabies! I will absolutely request her services again!

I’m not someone who trusts just anyone with our pups, so I spent a lot of time reading reviews and searching for the right sitter. I’m so grateful I found Jelisa! Jelisa was an amazing drop-in sitter for my three dogs. She did a wonderful job caring for each of them and made sure all of their individual needs were met while we were away. She didn’t just come by, let the dogs out, and leave. She played with our pups and gave them love in our absence. We also did a meet-and-greet beforehand, which put my mind at ease, and she kept us updated throughout our trip with messages and photos. I truly appreciated the care she gave our pups, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again. If you’re looking for a sign to book Jelisa, this is it! You won’t regret it!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
