“Charles did an excellent job at taking care of our very senior dog. He sent pics every day and updated us to how he was doing, how he was responding to him and his dog, and that he seemed comfortable with his surroundings. I really do appreciate his caring attitude toward Zeus; that gave us peace of mind while we were vacationing. We will definitely ask him to care for Zeus on our next vacation, and I will pass on to my friends that Charles is a wonderful canine caregiver. I appreciate Charles and Rover!”

“Lawrence and Gabby were the best!! I had just adopted my dog from a rescue a month prior, and had to go out of town for the first time. I was hoping to find someone that was familiar with big breed dogs and open to my high energy pup! It seems like she had an amazing time, skateboarding with Lawrence, playing with her fellow sleep away camp pups and even getting used to being around cats. Lawrence sent photos, put up with my million questions and treated her like she was his own. He and Gabby were even totally cool with giving her medication for an ear infection. Instead of walking away feeling bad about leaving her, it was like a fun little vacation for her. Will definitely be a repeat client :)”

About: 👋🏼Hi! Thanks for taking the time and swinging by! My husband and I know what it means to find someone you can completely trust to care for your pet(s) and feel at ease knowing that they will be taken care of. We each grew up with dogs and also had different kinds of pets (hamsters, lizards, fish, turtles, cats, dogs, birds) while the kids were growing up. 🐾We offer boarding, daycare and drop-in visits, ensuring your pets get consistent care tailored to their routine. 🏡We live in a house with a secure, fully fenced-in backyard where your dogs can safely play, stretch their legs, explore and do their business. 🐶🐶We are the proud pet (grand)parents of two sweet, 15-year-old sister dogs. Because they are seniors, they cannot hear very well anymore. They are very gentle, and a little shy but friendly. 💖Your pets will find a peaceful, patient, and understanding environment here. Whether your pet is staying at our house or we need to drop by, they will receive attentive care. We look forward to meeting you and your pets! We are both always at home during the daytime. Michael works from home. We usually try and go to the gym early in the mornings. 🌳We have a nice sized well manicured back yard that is fenced in. There is also plenty of room in the house for more dog beds or crates if you need to bring those.

About: Dogs have been a huge part of my life for over 30 years. My last two fur babies were spoiled house dogs who lived wonderful, happy lives of 16 and 17 years. I recently lost both of them, and I miss them terribly. ❤️ I’m not quite ready to bring another dog into my life full-time, but I still have plenty of love, attention, and puppy cuddles to give! That’s what led me to Rover. 🐶💕 When your pup stays with me, they become part of the family. Unless you approve otherwise, your dog will be the only dog staying in my home, so they’ll get a calm, comfortable environment and lots of one-on-one attention. I retired as a Human Resources Director and currently work part-time from home as a Human Resources Consultant which means I’m around most of the day. Your dog will not be crated all day or left alone for long periods of time. They’ll have plenty of love, companionship, potty breaks, playtime, and attention throughout their stay. My goal is for your dog to feel like they’re having a little vacation of their own while you’re away! 🐾 If your fur baby loves being spoiled, getting lots of attention, and being treated like family, my home may be the perfect place for them! ❤️🐕 I currently work from home part-time. Inside small to medium size dogs only. Available for day sitting or overnight sitting. Your pet will not be left in a crate and will be treated like a family member during their entire stay! There are no other pets in my home. They will be taken outside on a leash at all times. They will sit in my chair with me or sleep with me if that’s what they do at their home! We will have their rules……not ours! Our goal is to make them enjoy their stay!

About: I have three of my own senior babies that I love with all my heart, and I am looking to spread that love to your babies as well. I have experience with pets of all ages, but caring for seniors is one area where I excel. I am very patient and gentle, and I am very diligent about routines (especially when it comes to medical needs/medications). I currently work from home have the ability to incorporate visits within my daily schedule. I am also free on weekends and can provide extended or multiple visits when needed. I have a fenced in yard at my home, and even when my dogs are outside, I am always watching them to ensure they are safe, which I would also do for your family. If you do not have a fenced in yard, I would be sure to take your loved one outside on a secured leash.

About: Ive taken care of dogs for a little over 6 years but have been around dogs and cats all my life. Family and friends have relied on me to care for their pets and I enjoy taking care of fur babies. I work from home and finish work around 3:30pm. I am free most weekends for walks and care. With enough time in advance I can dog/cat sit in your home. I ensure a welcoming environment for your pet. I do have a 3 year old chocolate labrador who loves to have guests. I stay as true to their normal routine as possible making it an easy transition for when the owner is gone. I make sure I give extra love and attention to the pets as I would want this for my own pet.

About: Hello Families! My name is Aaliyah, and I’m a 20-year-old community college student with a genuine passion for caring for children and animals. I’m transitioning from working in hospital housekeeping into providing reliable, compassionate in-home care for babies, children, dogs, and cats. I have experience caring for a variety of dogs, from playful puppies to larger breeds, including pit bulls. I’ve also provided dog-sitting services for neighbors while they were traveling, making sure their pets received plenty of attention, care, exercise, and companionship while their families were away. In addition to pet care, I have hands-on infant-care experience from caring for my nephew since birth. I have been heavily involved in his daily care, including feeding, diaper changes, soothing, keeping him on a routine, and providing constant supervision. Caring for him has helped me develop patience, attentiveness, and a strong understanding of the responsibility that comes with caring for an infant. I also want to be completely transparent with families that I have a 2-year-old toddler who would accompany me during overnight sits. He is calm, well-behaved, and very easygoing. He has his own routine and would not interfere with the care I provide to your children or pets. I would always make sure your family members, pets, home, and routines receive my full attention and respect. My goal is to give families peace of mind by treating their children and pets with the same love, patience, and attention I would give my own. I understand how important it is to have someone you can trust in your home and with the people and animals you love most. I am available 7 days a week, from mornings through overnight care, and I’m happy to work with families who need flexible scheduling. If you’re looking for someone dependable, caring, patient, and attentive, I would love the opportunity to meet your family and discuss how I can help! Warm regards, Aaliyah I am currently looking for a job in the sitting community. I am available upon request. As well as being flexible to fit what’s best. Your fur babies will love my neighborhood. Every corner you’ll see someone with their own. If you animals don’t like others that’s okay because they’re welcome in my house as if they’re my own!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.

Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Love Valley home-away-from-home, packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Love Valley.

<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Love Valley sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
