Michele is an absolute dream! My husband and I booked her for a weekend to watch our senior Basset Hound, Lady, and she made us (and Lady) feel SO at ease. Lady is older and needs medication, so we're always nervous leaving her with other people, but Michele really did such an amazing job with her. She sent us tons of updates throughout the weekend—photos, detailed reports on how everything was going, etc. We felt very comfortable knowing Lady was in such good hands. Michele even went as far as keeping the exact (quite detailed lol) routine we have for Lady and accepted all her quirks with open arms. She really went above and beyond for us. If you're looking for someone who will love your dog as much as you do while you're away, book Michele!

About: For the first time in 10 years I do not have a dog of my own, so I'd love to help take care of others! I am currently working full time but I am able to go home daily on my lunch breaks to take care of your loved one! My home becomes your pet's home! I view pets as children. I will enforce and backup your rules/training, but other than that, they are more than welcome to make themselves at home!

This is the second time Sophie has cared for our two cats, and she’s been wonderful each time. She gives them so much love and playtime, and keeps us updated regularly, which we really appreciate. It’s such a comfort knowing they’re in good hands while we’re away. They were happy and content when we got back.

Jessica was great! Very communicative and knowledgable about dogs, especially doodles! We got daily pictures of Murph. It was a hot weekend so Jessica was kind enough to get up early and get Murph out and walk before it got too hot.

Elisha did a wonderful job watching my shy pup and two kitties while we were gone for an evening. Although my dog is rather nervous around strangers, my pup ended up sleeping with Elisha during a storm. It gave me great comfort to know my animals were being looked after during the storm and while we were away. Looking forward to having her watch my pets again next week!! Thanks for everything, Elisha!

Brianne stayed in my home and kept my mini golden doodle, Murray, for nine nights while we were traveling with our family. We met and chatted before we left, she met our family, she arrived promptly the day we left, and took Murray on walks and play dates and car rides. We set her up in the guest room and Murray has checked a few times to see if she is there. He clearly likes her and she has a good energy. It is a tricky situation for her walking into a stranger's home with a stranger's dog. We spent a lot of time talking to her and she is smart and interesting with an interesting career and so much to chat about. Brianne did some of her work here at the house and everything was very good. For transparency, we do have cameras in the house at access points because we do live in the middle of literally nowhere, but we also chose not to use them to assure an appropriate level of privacy. We had and have every confidence in Brianne. When the need arises I will certainly contact her early to assure that she is available for Murray.

We recently hired Emily to stay overnight with our two dogs and our super senior cat while we were out of town. We’re very careful and selective about who cares for our pets, so it says a lot that we felt very comfortable with her. Emily was attentive, reliable, and followed our requested schedule — from feeding timelines to bathroom breaks and walks. She was great about keeping us informed and sent pictures throughout her stay. It was clear she genuinely cared about our animals and took her responsibility seriously. When we returned home, we could tell our pets were well cared for. As a thoughtful touch, she even left homemade biscuits for us, which was incredibly kind. We would absolutely trust her with our pets again.

From the moment that I met Emily, I understood that her relationships with animals are deeply reciprocal. She is a patient and caring friend and enjoys the love that they offer in return. Emily stayed with my senior Boxer for 10 days at my home. She was a conscientious sitter -- taking perfect care of my home and of my pet. Knuckie typically experiences a few days of depression and hives when I leave but with Emily he was in good spirits, eating and in his normal routine. Honestly, he looked fantastic when I returned -- like he'd had a week at a spa. Emily's communication was perfect and she even went above and beyond to have a food order for us when our late flight arrived! I give Emily my highest recommendation!

About: Hi! My name is Andrea. I have lived in the Hudson Valley for almost 4 years now, and have been working in the area off and on since 2014. I live with my partner, Mike, and precious pup Kona. I have always lived with dogs. And recently, have been thinking about getting a cat! I am an Occupational Therapist in a school district full time and love to farm and bicycle during my off time. I’ve done house sitting and dog sitting previously and enjoyed the work. I have my own vehicle and am used to commuting around the Hudson Valley for work and for fun. I wanted to get back into dog sitting and pet sitting to assist in getting a new car and to get to spend time with pets! I have always been obsessed with dogs! I show that through meeting as many as I can when out in the community :). I am active person, so long walks and playing is something I can provide. I am open to any requests you might have and am great at keeping in touch with pet parents. I can always be available through text, call, or email. I’m so excited to meet you and your lovely pets!! I have a full time job, so weekends are my only availability. However, I am open to discuss any special circumstances! I might potentially be more available on a long weekend, when I am off from my school based job. I would want to care for your pets as you would or how you would want. I am great with a schedule and specific requests.

Rose was amazing! She went above and beyond our expectations! Thankfully, she was available (fairly) short notice and worked with us every step of the way! She sent us pictures of Bolo everyday (to reassure my girlfriend) and kept bolo (who can have really bad separation anxiety) from freaking out. She also finished drying/folding our laundry for us! We really appreciate everything she did, and would 100000000% re-hire her/recommend her for whoever is looking for a dogsitter, walker or anything in between.

She is very professional and responsive and has a calm, competent demeanor enabling me to feel very comfortable entrusting my super sensitive terrier with her. She knew how to read his energy and respect his boundaries which allowed him to feel safe and comfortable in Katherine's care. I highly recommend Katherine!

About: I've been taking care of dogs since I was five years old and continued to get more dogs. I have dog sat for multiple friends and family rating from dogs and cats. As far as training animals, I did grow up with having to train them so I do have some experience. I am currently working part time and go to community college but will be able to manage and work out a schedule that will be accommodating. I have 3 dogs that have invisible fences outside so they can roam free without getting lost, going to the road, running off. I have a big yard surrounding my house so they are used to running around freely. When it gets too cold they come in to the house or garage with my father. I am used to walking dogs as they do get walked on occasion at home or if we have them out of the house. I do not off offer services that welcome pets into my house but I am accommodating as necessary and will offer services at your residency.

Since it was our first time using a sitter, we were pretty nervous but she was very communicative and attentive which gave us so much peace of mind. We could tell that she was going above and beyond to make sure they had lots of love and attention. When we came home, it was clear they had been well cared for—happy, healthy, and content. FAQs for House Sitting - Lorenz Park

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Lorenz Park on Rover is $74.37 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 572 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Lorenz Park. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lorenz Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lorenz Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lorenz Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lorenz Park. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
