Jennifer was absolutely fantastic with our dog this past week. She came twice a day, let him out, took him for a walk, cuddled, and played with him. Looking forward to continuing to have her come visit while we are at work!

About: All breeds accepted! I was a dog owner for over 16 years and I am an animal lover for life. I will care for and treat your pet as if they were my own. I am available for drop-ins and in-home pet sitting. Meet & Greet required to get to know you and your pet, with a full discussion about your pets’ needs and your expectations for their care, before accepting booking requests. **Rate includes up to 2 walks daily for dogs. Each walk is up to 30 minutes. Rates may change based on level of care required** My full-time job is remote. This allows me to stay with your pet at your home while you are away enjoying your vacation and keep them company throughout the day. Pets will be treated like a member of the family. All needs are met: fresh food, fresh water, lots of potty breaks, exercise, attention, and, of course, love.

Giving sarah 5 star review is easy. She's prompt and responsive. I was happy to check in our camera system and see her sitting with and attending to my sweet old girl.. she fouled instructions to the tee and left any detailed information on my pooch and what she did at the house.

Daniel has been the best dog walker I have ever had. My girls seem to love him dearly! My dogo argentino is a big girl, and a load of work and he managed everything perfectly with her. One dog is blind and one is deaf and he was amazing with them. Great pictures, amazing updates, went above and beyond. Extremely pleased and will book again moving forward!

About: Hi, I have over ten years of experience with dogs. I volunteered and assisted at my local shelter from 2014 - 2017. I helped in the rehabilitation of about sixty animals to their furever home. I’m here to help you be at ease when it comes to your pet/furbaby as they are also part of the family, I love long walks and runs, and playtime is a huge factor. I can also assist with teaching various tricks and commands with lots of patience. In my home, your dog will be safe and comfortable, there is a huge fenced yard to play while outside. I will always do my best to make sure your pet feels at home. ❤️ I’m currently staying at home as I’m a retired vet, I do morning drop off to school then I am free to keep your pet company I have a fence yard and a small Yorkie to keep your dog company. I can also crate train if needed if that is preferred

Great job. And took pics to show how Dempsey was doing which is very reassuring. The only reason I rate a 4 is because the last walk I requested at 4pm and she was 40min late. Not a huge deal but I had to check in to make sure she was going

Wow was I super happy with Jenny! Super communicative and she helped out in my last minute emergency! Had to leave for JFK, and the night before leaving found out there are no Wag walkers so quickly got on Rover...found Jenny and Kathleen! Jenny loved my boys and took good care of them and even talked with our maintenance guy at Summerhill in Doylestown. So happy with her, she’s def rated five star, and the boys are always well behaved with new walkers. Nightly recommend Rover and Jenny...I’m so happy she could take care of Herk and Sam in an emergency. Thanks Jenny!!! Martha Herk and Sam

About: I have been pet sitting since I was a child. I grew up taking care of my family and friends’ dogs and have always loved all animals. I adore playing with cats and dogs, going on walks, feeding and being responsible for any other care. Over the last few years I have gathered clients on LBI that I have pet sat for both in their home as well as in my own home. Recently I have had the honor of caring for my aunt and uncles elderly dog that required extra care and attention. I currently have a cat of my own whom I love dearly. I am typically available throughout the day, especially mornings and evenings, to care for any animals. I am quite flexible with my schedule and happy to work around the specific needs and wants of the owners and their loved pets. I live in a home that has plenty of space for pets. I will adhere to any responsibilities the owners request throughout the day for pet care. Especially feedings and walking for dogs as well as lots of scratches/rubs and cuddles. I will treat your furry family like my own!

About: I’ve taken care of all different types of dogs and different animals for as far back as I can remember as a little girl. I’ve always had a deep and intense love for furry friends. I’m currently available at all times for the time being because I am not employed as of right now. Last minutes are not an issue ! I don’t have a fence in my yard for the time being. I had an invisible one but my dog unfortunately passed away and we got it removed after. I currently don’t have any animals

About: Growing up with dogs has taught me that every pet has a unique personality and set of needs. I bring a lot of energy and confidence to my walks, making me a great fit for larger, high-energy breeds or young pups who are still working on their leash manners. At the same time, I have a deep respect and gentle approach for senior pets who require extra patience, medication administration, or just a calm companion to keep them company With football coaching wrapped up for the season, my schedule is completely open and dedicated to pet care. Because I don't have conflicting commitments, I can offer flexible, highly reliable availability throughout the week for midday walks, drop-in visits, or consistent routines. Your dog will be my main priority, ensuring they get plenty of attention, exercise, and structured care exactly when they need it. In my clients' homes, my top priority is maintaining your dog's established routine while keeping your home secure. I double check locks, ensure gates are closed tightly, and always stick to the specific feeding and medication schedules you provide. If a dog is staying at my home, they enter a secure, dog friendly environment where they are treated like family. Because I'm home full time right now, your pet will never be left unsupervised, and they will enjoy a structured routine of frequent backyard play, supervised socialization, and plenty of safe space to relax.

Daniel has been working with my dog for the past few weeks, and I can’t thank him enough. He is always on time, and always messages me before he gets to the house, as well as when he leaves. As soon as he met my dog, I could tell he was trustworthy and a huge dog lover. I always feel secure knowing that he is on the way looking after my pup. Cannot recommend him enough!

Gina has a really relaxed personality, which works well with my dog who has anxiety. She warmed up quickly to Gina and seems very comfortable around her. I really love how responsive Gina is. She reached out the day of to confirm the walk and always responds to texts quickly. She’s very respectful of the house and even took her shoes off without asking which I thought was pretty impressive. Overall she has good energy and is definitely a dog person.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 983 sitters on Rover offering Dog Walking across Long Beach. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Long Beach. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Long Beach.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Long Beach. On Rover:

  • 92% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
