About: Thank you for considering me to care for your dogs. I know it’s not an easy decision. We also offer weekly Poop Scooping service - Just ask! I have always had a family dog. I have run an in home doggy day care, owned a pet treat bakery, earned my Vet Tech degree, worked in veterinary clinics, a specialty animal hospital, and as a pet nutrition consultant. I have cared for young and old, sick and healthy. I have seen everything at this point. One of my dogs had seizures so I know how difficult it can be to trust someone with a pet with medical conditions. I’m here to help. I hope to make this my full time job aside from mom. I have 2 daughters and 2 dogs. Check ins fit nicely into our busy family schedule. I’ll take time for each pet. Chatting with them, snuggles, pets, let me know what they need and I'll do my best to make sure they feel your love!

“Stella took great care of my girls (a Boston terrier and a “Velcro” Dalmatian) for a week. It was a last minute booking and she communicated so promptly and professionally. She even offered a meet and greet which made me feel even more comfortable leaving our fur babies with her. Stella had a great yard for them to play in, and updated us with pictures and videos nearly everyday! I would highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a sitter that they can trust and feel like their babies were made feel right at home! Thank you Stella!”

About: Hi! I’m Amy, and I truly believe pets are family. I’m a responsible, and compassionate person who understands how important it is to feel confident that your beloved pet is safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I have a genuine love for animals and experience caring for dogs with different personalities, needs, and routines. I grew up on a farm and have led a pet centered life since. I am patient, attentive, and dependable, and I take the time to make pets feel comfortable and loved in my care. Whether your pet wants long walks and lots of playtime, quiet companionship, or simply someone to stick to their familiar routine, I’m happy to meet them where they are. I also understand that every pet—and every pet parent—is different. I’m careful about following feeding instructions, medications, schedules, exercise routines, and any special requests. I’ll treat your home with the same respect and care I give your pets. Most importantly, I want you to be able to relax while you’re away. I’m happy to provide updates, photos, and plenty of reassurance so you know your furry family member is doing well. I would love the opportunity to get to know you and your pets and become someone you can trust whenever they need a little extra love and care. ❤️ I currently do not work so I have plenty of time to drop in and spend time with your pet! Feeding, walking, crating and playing with your pets is my focus! I will always care for your pet as if it is my own. I have two wonderful dogs and a fenced in yard for extended stays

“Helena and her husband were wonderful to work with - kind and extremely flexible with drop off and pick up times. They live in a very nice community with lots of places for shady walks. Buddy had his own loveseat by the front door which he could lay on and look outside or at Helena and her husband in the kitchen or sitting room of their open plan home. I received regular updates and photos of Buddy in what really was a home away from home. From the initial meeting when I went to drop Buddy off, I knew he was in great hands. I would definitely have Buddy stay with Helena again and recommend her to anyone looking for an attentive loving couple to take care of you ‘fur baby’!!”

Hali jumped to take her to the vet for me just for reassurance! It was nothing Hali or Levi did, my little one just decided to be clumsy! I would 10 out of 10 recommend Hali and Levi for your pet sitting!”

About: I'm a dog lover and owner who has worked with other dogs for 10+ years. I understand how difficult it can be to find someone to trust with your fur babies! My goal is to be that person for you! I'm currently working part-time from home so I have flexibility to do walking or day care during the week and can facilitate boarding on some weekends! Please reach out for availability!! I look forward to meeting your fur baby! I can come to you or you can drop your fur baby off to me! I have a fully fenced yard (high fence) and also have two different sized crates depending on your fur baby's needs!

About: I have had pets my whole life, dogs, cats, even rabbits. In the past I volunteered at a dog rescue just to help out and be around dogs until I was ready to get one of my own.i have done short term fosters and am comfortable giving medications and shots if needed. I have a very flexible work schedule and generally make my own schedule most days of the week so I can likely accommodate you and your pets needs. I have a dog of my own that loves other dogs. I have a medium sized crate if you prefer to crate them, otherwise they will have free reign of my apartment, or your place.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost of Dog Boarding in Long Beach is $44 per night as of November 2026. Most bookings cost between $33 and $61 per night. On Rover, sitters set their own rates based on factors such as their experience, the length of care, the number of pets, and your pet’s specific needs. As long as your booking dates and pet profiles are accurate, the price shown before you confirm is the total, including any booking fee.

As of November 2026, there are 361 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Long Beach. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.

94% of sitters in Long Beach can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Long Beach home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Long Beach.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Long Beach. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

You and your Long Beach sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
