About: My experience comes from owning not just dogs (XL-XS) and cats, but many animals in my lifetime. To me, living with these animals is the best way to gain experience. I have also done many house sitting jobs for people with lots of pets, and it’s something I genuinely enjoy doing. To me, the most important thing is establishing trust with your sitter, and I am a guaranteed safe person to trust any animal with. I’m great at reading animal body language and typically do well with all pets. I work at Panera, so my hours are not crazy, and never are usually longer than 4 hours, so pet sitting works great with my schedule. My college is also online so that doesn’t effect my schedule for the most part. In a clients home, it’s important to follow all of the instructions they provide, while also making their pets feel as if the owners never left.

Trustworthy and communicative. I am new to rover and have never had a cat sitter off this platform. I booked Jeffery on very short notice having never met him in person, but he turned out to be trustworthy and attentive to my needs and the needs of my cat. Jeffery did everything I asked him to do, took pictures of the cat, and did a good job.

About: Kevin and I have both been caring for dogs and many other types of animals for our entire lives and absolutely couldn’t envision our life without several animals. Kevin has grown up around a family dog business - participating in AKC scent trials, agility training, boarding and almost any other type of dog event & training you can imagine. I’ve had cats and dogs my entire lifetime and used to help foster kittens as a child and teenager. We currently have two dogs, several cats, chickens, turkeys and more. Your animals will be in safe and caring hands with us! We both work but set our own schedules and/or work from home so your dog will rarely, if ever, be left alone. Since we have animals of our own, caring for additional pets is not a problem and part of our normal lifestyle. We have a large fenced dog run outside, in home kennel area, along with crates for crate trained dogs. Our property is about 5 acres and fully fenced with front gates so dogs cannot leave the area. We also have a couple large lawns we use for doggy playtime, fetch and training sessions.

About: I grew up on a ranch with many different animals! I have a huge love for all animals and would love nothing more than to get to share my love for animals with your pets! I am trust worthy, communicative, and promise to strive to always ensure the best experience possible! I will love and take care of your pets as if they were my own. I have experience with training basic skills to puppies and even senior care for older dogs! Females in heat? I’ve dealt with a few, they deserve all the compassion! I hope you choose me to have the pleasure of taking care of your pets! Sliding scale for pricing offered! I’m currently at home most the day and available to maneuver my schedule around your needs! You let me know what your pets need and I will make it a top priority! My cats are indoor only kitties and have lots of vertical space along with zoomi certified runways (hallways) for them to play! My yard is fenced in entirely but rather large and dogs off leash would easily be out of site if not watched. I also have a few chickens on the property so I’d like to be cautious of them.

Chloe did a great job taking care of my two cats while we were away. She plays with them, takes pictures, is responsive to messages, and her love for animals is apparent. She also took out my trash and brought the bins back in. One of my cats made a mess and I appreciate her cleaning it up. I feel confident Chloe is taking good care of my cats while I’m away. I’ll definitely use her again in the future!

Lynn was a lifesaver! She was reliable, communicated every day with me, and noticed Rocky’s feeder was malfunctioning. She gave him the food he needed, and Iet me know so I was able to fix the feeder remotely. Rocky seemed very happy to see me, and was well taken care of. Definitely will use Lynn again!

About: Since I was old enough to walk, animals have been a loving part of my life. Growing up in a household where pets were treated as family, taught me that every dog and cat has a unique personality and set of needs. I am particularly skilled at reinforcing consistent routines. If you are working on leash training or basic commands like 'sit' and 'stay,' I make sure to incorporate those into our walks so your progress doesn't stall while you're at work. I am also experienced with senior care, understanding that sometimes a 'walk' is more about a slow sniff-around-the-block and some gentle companionship than a fast-paced walk. My professional life is uniquely flexible, which allows me to be the reliable 'midday anchor' for your pet’s day. I have dedicated my Wednesday through Sunday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, specifically to pet care. This means I am available during the most high-demand hours—when you’re stuck in back-to-back meetings or enjoying a weekend afternoon away. Because I don't juggle a rigid 9-to-5 office job, I can offer consistent arrival windows and the focused attention your pet deserves without rushing to the next appointment. I will treat your home with the same level of respect I’d want for my own. My process is thorough: I double-check that all doors are deadbolted, alarm systems are set, and water bowls are topped off before I leave. To keep you in the loop, I provide detailed Rover Cards after every visit. You’ll receive photos of our adventures, a map of our walk, and a summary of all 'business' handled. If a mess occurred while you were away, I handle the clean-up discreetly and thoroughly so you can come home to a fresh house and a happy, relaxed pet.

I will definitely use Kelsee's services the next time we travel. She was always pleasant and flexible. I could not have asked for better. She gave us just enough contact with text and photos to keep us comfortable. We knew our 20-year-old cat was in good hands. She also kept the wild birds fed and potted plants watered. Thank you Kelsee!

Janet was wonderful and our pets got along great with her. She had to do cat meds for one of my elderly cats and that went great also. Hard to find a person who will do pet meds, especially cats! She took pics for us which was great also. She is a very nice person and we will have her watch our dogs and cats again.

About: Hello parents of furbabies! A little about me: I worked at a petsmart in the grooming salon where we had to take extensive courses on dogs and cats, so I have experience working with dogs/cats from all walks of life. I have befriended anxious dogs who usually fear humans and earned the acceptance of aggressive dogs. Animals tend to like me regardless of their personalities. I am as happy on a leisurely walk for a mellow dog who wants to sniff and explore as I am to tire out a dog with boundless energy. I have 2 dogs of my own and have had dogs and cats my whole life. You might catch me crying while watching videos of dogs getting adopted or lost dogs being found. If you think I'd be a good fit to take care of your best friend, please reach out! Whether it’s cuddling, playing fetch, taking a walk, I am home almost all of the time spending time with my doggos. My boyfriend is also home quite often so there’s an extra set of hands here to help! I have a big backyard that is fenced in. My house is always clean and disinfected. I am big on safety especially because I have my own dogs who love to get into stuff. You don’t have to worry about my pups being around your pups if needed because my dogs have their own area of the house they can stay in to be separated! Let me know if that is necessary for you.

I have classes throughout the week, but plenty of free time in between the classes to care for your pets. I am a kinesiology major, meaning I love being active! I will take your pets on long walks and ensure they get lots of outdoor time to get their energy out. I live in a house in Marina. I live in a quiet neighborhood with a fenced backyard. About: Pet Care Experience I grew up on a ranch and have been surrounded by animals my entire life—dogs, cats, livestock, and everything in between. I have extensive experience with both indoor and outdoor pets, and I’m especially comfortable caring for dogs with special needs. My own dog has paralysis, so I’m familiar with bladder expression, administering medications, and providing extra love and support when it’s needed most. I’ve also taken animal science courses related to pet care, including cats. Whether it’s a quick drop-in or a longer stay, I treat every pet like they’re my own. What Sets Me Apart I bring a calm, reliable presence and a deep understanding of animal behavior thanks to a lifetime of hands-on experience. I’m confident handling senior pets, dogs with medical needs, and active pups who just need a little extra playtime and love. I’m also happy to follow detailed care instructions and routines. Pet parents trust me to not only meet their pets’ needs but to go the extra mile—whether that’s daily updates, customized walks, or making sure your pet feels safe and comfortable while you’re away. Working from home allows me to provide dedicated pet care as part of my daily routine. For house sitting, I integrate pet care seamlessly into my day, keeping to your pets' usual routines and ensuring they receive constant attention and affection. During drop-in visits, I make sure to check in on your pets at the scheduled times, providing everything they need from food to playtime. For dog walking, I incorporate walks into my schedule, offering your dog regular exercise and a chance to explore. My flexible schedule ensures that your pets get the care they need, when they need it. House Sitting: When house sitting, I ensure your pets are comfortable and relaxed in their own environment. I stick to their routine as closely as possible, whether that’s feeding, walking, or playtime. I keep a close eye on their health and well-being, providing plenty of love and attention. I also maintain your home by bringing in the mail, watering plants, and keeping everything tidy, so you can return to a clean and well-cared-for space. Drop-In Visits: During drop-in visits, I make sure your pets are happy and content while you’re away. I check in on them at the agreed times, providing fresh food and water, a potty break, and a bit of playtime or cuddling. I also ensure that everything in the house is as it should be, giving you peace of mind. Dog Walking: For dog walking, I focus on giving your dog a fun and safe experience. I stick to their usual route or explore new ones if that’s what they enjoy. I’m attentive to their behavior, ensuring they get the exercise they need while keeping them safe from traffic and other potential hazards.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 834 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Lockeford. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lockeford. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
