David is a really patient and kind person. He’s been our pet/house sitter twice and each time we’ve been very happy. Looking forward to the next time. It’s great to know our pets and our home are in both kind and professional care.

This was our second time having DeAnna stay in our home overnight with our chickens, dog, and guinea pig! She is super responsive and takes such great care of our pets. Plus she leaves the house clean which is always nice coming back from vacation! We will definitely book with her again.

Annie is a GEM! This was our first experience with rover and she set the bar incredibly high! All three of our pets adore her, she is intentional, patient and so sweet with the pets. All three of our fur babies have individual quirky needs and she was great with each! We will absolutely have her back again!

Carol was excellent dog sitter who I would recommend to everyone. She took the time to understand our dogs needs (and tortoises) and text us updates to make sure we felt reassured. An ideal house guest - she kept the place spotless whilst we were away. Thanks carol - we will definitely use you again!!

About: I am a passionate animals lover with 10+ years of hands-on experience working in veterinary hospitals, boarding facilities and animald ERs. I have cared for dogs of all breeds and temperaments and am comfortable administering medications to both dogs and cats when needed. I currently work from home with the flexibility to do other things through out my day. I choose to fill that or my free time taking care of animals! I have a fenced yard and a clean safe home for your pets to play, roam, feel safe and comfortable. I no longer have pets of my own.

About: I’ve cared for dogs my whole life but I’ve worked with dogs professionally for about a year now. I work at dog training and boarding facility in a few different roles. I’ve been a trainer, kennel technician, bather, as well as in the office scheduling boarding stays for our pups! I’d love to care for more dogs after work! I’m good at it and I enjoy it so much! I currently work 8am to 4pm. But I have plenty of time to spend with your pup after work! We can go for walks, go to the park or have a bath and get cleaned up! I can come to you home and care for your dog there or I can pick them up, take them out for some fun to get some energy out, and bring them back home safe and sound. I can crate them in my SUV for easy and safe transport.

I have a very flexible schedule and am very quit to communicate with text and call. I have a yellow lab to keep your dog company if they come over. I do not have a fenced yard but can easily take them on a walk or even the dog park that is right down the road from my house.

About: I’ve worked with dogs and cats the last 7 years. In a boarding and clinic environment. I have experience with every size dog and cat as well as medicine administration (oral or injection). I’m usually home with my fur babies unless I have to run errands. I might be gone up to 4 hours. When boarders are in my home I try to stay with them more until comfortable. Then if they are social can introduce my pack and slowly meet one by one. Eventually everyone will be able to be out and play. I have a fenced in front yard and fur babies to play with your pets. We have a variety of temperaments and ages, based on your pups body language I would probably have the right fit for them :) or they can also have alone time and be rotated out to avoid other dogs. I crate all my dogs at night before bed. I have cameras around my yard and outside the house for security as well.

Judy helped me out on last minute booking. I just wanted my Anya to be able to stay home so she would be more comfortable. Judy sent me photos and updates the whole time. I got to sit in a meeting and smile when the photo popped up. She left my home in great shape! The best part? Anya was calm and peaceful when I came home, not anxious and nervous as she is when I pick her up from the kennel. Judy is the best!

I have plenty of downtime in between my day to day routine to help out with any animal needs and whatever else need to be I have a spacious back yard and love to run in my free time but also don’t mind staying in and giving plenty of pets

Sabrina house sat and watched our two black labs (9 year old and 1 year old) for a 3-day weekend get away, and she was awesome. She walked and played with them which included their favorite activity of fetch in the pool. Both dogs were clearly well cared for and tired out upon our return home. We will be using Sabrina again.

Anna was absolutely amazing with my 12 week old puppy. I had made plans to go out of town before getting my puppy and Anna stayed at my house over the weekend. She made sure my dog was happy and took her out on walks. She really takes the time to understand what you do with your dog to make sure she follows that. Overall fantastic choice and will 1000% be asking Anna to watch Ellie again.

FAQs for House Sitting - Littlelot

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of June 2026, there are 399 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Littlelot. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Littlelot walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Littlelot maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Littlelot choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Littlelot. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 92% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
