“Our baby was well taken care of and had the best time with her stay. I received so many photographs and daily updates. I wasn’t worried about our sweet girl while we were away because she looked like she was having the time of her life!”

“Zac took fantastic care of our two Great Danes while we were out of the country for 12 days. We have left them in Zac’s care several times now and he does a great job taking care of the boys!”

“Thank you Jud and Nicole for the meet and greet with your family and your dog before we left Dora with y’all, it made us feel she was in safe hands and that she’d be right at home!”

“Michelle was very pleasant and patient with my dog, who is not accustomed to people outside of our family. When we arrived, she made sure she understood all of our preferences regarding eating, sleeping, and socializing. Throughout our time away, she sent pictures and text updates on how my dog was adjusting. When we picked Max up, he was clean, calm, and doing great overall. A great experience!”

“I really do appreciate Nick! He always comes through when it comes to Mateo. I recently had surgery and had to come back down to Columbia, and he was able to take Mateo for me so I could have some time to adjust to my recovery. I’m forever grateful for him! He communicates so well, sends pictures, keeps you updated, and always lets you know what’s going on. He’s truly everything you could want in someone taking care of your dog, and I always feel comfortable knowing Mateo is with him.”
“Jillian was great with our dog! She was attentive and sent pictures while we were away. Our dog must have loved all the attention and play time because he was knocked out when we got home! Would definitely rebook with her!”

“Karen is an exceptional Rover sitter. She made my anxious pup feel truly loved and at ease. Karen ensured our baby got plenty of exercise with frequent walks and took exceptional care of him during our recent trip. I highly recommend her.”

“Kayla was so sweet and attentive to my 10 yr old shih tzu Taco. He had recently injured his leg and was awaiting a surgical consult. So, she was careful with his activity level. She also gave his seizure medication 3 times a day. He looked happy and well cared for in all the photo updates she sent me.”

“Aiko did a great job with Brock she was very patient and understanding with him even when he had an accident when he first arrived .I would definitely recommend Aiko and I hope to have her as a sitter again.”

“I was in need of a last minute sitter for my big boy buddy. This was Buddies second stay there. Kendra's response was quick and professional. I found everything neat and in order. (Important to me) Buddy immediately ran into her house like they were old friends, Not common behavior for him.He knows when I am getting ready to leave him I was pleased that he was so comfortable there. The care was exceptional. Thank Kendra”

“Brandon was very welcoming and accommodating to my boys! I know my dogs are very high energy and can be a handful so I’m always nervous about leaving them but Brandon was very professional and made me feel welcome.”

“Casi was great- great environment for my dog, especially if he does not get along with all other dogs. Great location for animals- Casi took the time to make sure my dog was well cared for. Highly recommended.”

“Keith was everything you could ask for in a sitter! Bubbles was chill and calm and actually didn’t want to leave. She whined the entire time home. Too me, with a rescue dog who trusted no one, his level of care speaks volumes. We received text and pictures and videos. He was very considerate and even wished us a Merry Christmas. More importantly, he wasn’t in it just to get paid!! That wins me every time!!! Thanks Keith; I’m recommending you to all my friends.”

“LITERALLY. THE. BEST! This was our first time using Rover after a horrible experience boarding with a kennel and it was a game changer. Our pups stayed with Brittany for over a week and the only problem we had was that they were having so much fun, they didn't want to come home! We have two giant mastiffs, one with terrible anxiety and the other that acts like a toddler hyped up on sugar most of the time. She handled them both like a champ. We received loads of pictures everyday, so we had no reason to worry. I can't say enough great things about our experience! Thanks again girl!!!”
“Daniel is absolutely amazing! He was very nice, understanding, and he took great care of my fur baby🤗 I recommend him 1000% and he has made a new customer out of me. I thank him with everything in me and I’m truly grateful for his kindness.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Little Mountain home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Little Mountain.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Little Mountain sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
