“Jo is amazing!! She took both Hadley and CeeCee for the long weekend and they were very well taken care of. CeeCee is a little old lady who is very fearful and needy and she looked happy, well fed, well rested and loved in all of the pictures Jo sent! Hadley absolutely loves Jo and Cricket and he also came home happy!”

“Jenesis was great! Lucky had a good time with her, and she made sure he got food he would eat when he was a little picky, and was flexible when I had to pick him up later than I'd planned to.”

“Kara and her family were amazing with my husky! They had him for 5 days while we were out of town and I have nothing but great things to say about them. My boy was well taken care of, he was happy and communication was consistent (something I highly appreciated) They took him on walks, played with him and gave him lots of love. We totally recommend her!”

“Hazzar boarded our cavapoo for 1 week and went above and beyond our expectations. When we came to pick our dog, we could tell she was happy and well-cared for. Communication with Hazzar was easy and quick. She promptly replied to our messages and sent pictures of our dog throughout the week. I would recommend Hazzar to anyone looking for a caring a loving pet sitter.”

“Kendyl was amazing. She updated me regularly. Took my dog on a trail. She introduced my puppy to a world he has never seen. Like chickens, children. Thank you so much kendel.”

“Terrific service and communication! Anatoliy sent us pictures almost every day and responded quickly to all my questions. Our dog had an awesome time running around off leash in their fenced in yard!”

“Danielle was amazing with our cat, Kinako! This was her first time being away from home, but it was very obvious from the pictures and updates that she was in great hands. It was also her first time being around so many other pets, but they were very sweet with her and she seemed surprisingly at ease :) We're excited to book with Danielle again whenever we're out of town!”

“We love Beth. Pepper, our Shih Tzu mix, doesn’t get along with everyone, but warmed right up to her. She gives Pepper exercise and good care. We will call Beth again when we need a sitter!”

“Miss Valley had an amazing time with Diane and her family. She enjoyed nice walks with her kids and seemed as though she really enjoyed her time with Diane. Diane communicated daily on how she was doing and sent photos as well. I will definitely be rebooking with Diane again!”

“Alyssa and Sean are by far one of the best Rover sitters we've ever had! They helped us out in a pinch and cared for Crumpet like he was their own. We felt so at ease knowing he was in good hands. We appreciated and loved all the picture updates. We will definitely ask them if they can pet sit again when the need pops up.”

About: I have grown up with big dogs such as pit bulls and huskies and love them dearly I really love how playful and caring they are. I trained both my family pitties since they were puppies I’m currently only working 30hrs a week can board for you starting Sunday nights till early Wednesday morning have space for animals to play and run I live in a house on a 1 acre property no fences so as long as your dog is properly trained and no risk of them running away I don’t mind letting them roam free if not I can just walk them around on a leash. As for cats same difference I have a back patio to allow them to be in the sun and have fresh air and all the space they deserve
“Joe was so easy to communicate with! We really appreciated his patience in dealing with our elderly doggie who was having anxiety from staying with someone new. Thank you Joe!!”

“Tea took great care of our Vera! Sent us plenty of pictures and updates throughout her stay with Tea! Was also very responsive whenever we checked in. She was also able to follow medication and complicated food instructions. Highly Recommend!”

“We definitely recommend Audrey!! We received lots of pictures and I know our boy was extra spoiled and loved in her care. She saved us in a last minute situation and we are so thankful for her flexibility!!”
“Zander was great. He went over and above for our rather difficult chihuahua mix, Susie, who reacts negatively to air pressure changes due to rain and thunderstorms. I recommend him for any dog.”

About: I have cared for many pets of friends and family members over the years. Sadly, I had to put my own dog down this fall (13yo Boxer named Neeco) and am looking to get my pup fix through volunteering at the SPCA and pet-sitting/walking, as I am not quite ready to take on another dog just yet. I am comfortable with dogs of all sizes and ages, but I especially love senior doggos. I currently work part-time as an RN and make my own schedule, so am very flexible in that regard. Available for boarding most weekends Friday-Monday. My yard is unfenced but on a very private road with low traffic. Lots of trails and streams to explore if that is something your fur baby would enjoy! If not, we have a large deck and screened in porch for outdoor lounging, and big comfy couch by the fireplace for them to relax.
About: I have worked in the pet care industry for 12 years as a groomer and pet care technician in a boarding and daycare facility. I grew up on a farm, taking care of all manner of animals, from bunnies to goats and horses. My family rescued and fostered dogs from the time I was a young girl and I have been petsitting since I was a teenager. I love using my pet care skills to help you and your pets feel more comfortable when you are away. I take your pets well being and safety as seriously as if they were my own. In my free time I enjoy teaching my Dachshund tricks, dance moves and dressing him in silly costumes for my Instagram account. If you would like references regarding my professional history in the pet care industry, please ask! I want you to be confident your pets will be in the best hands while you're away.
“Jonathan met me at the door right on time and Bronco was welcomed by his dogs and they took off to the fully fenced in back yard and he fit right in. He was well taken care of and right on time for pick up. Highly recommend.”

Jenesis was fabulous with my little buddy, Dublin. She was so careful about introducing him to her Aria and they did great together. I felt so comfortable leaving him with her and know he was incredibly cared for. I highly recommend her and will use her again if I'm traveling in the area. Thank you, Jenesis.
Beth was amazing and the perfect choice for looking after my Reggie. She gave him top care, love, and attention. She was wonderful with him and provided lots of updates and photos. This was Reggie’s first stay with a sitter and I’m so glad it was with Beth! I highly recommend her!

Jenisis was beyond amazing. Every part of the process was wonderful and she took such good care of our dog. She kept us updated on his stay and sent us pictures while he was with her. I would definitely ask her to keep my dog again if we are in the area. Jenisis is the best!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
